Chapter 1 General Information
1.1. Introduction
The IPC-6520 is a universal monitor mounting kit for use in conjunction
with a standard EIA RS-310C 19" industrial rack. Its rugged design
accommodates 14" and 15" monitors. Simply adjust the retainers and
hold-down brackets to fit your monitor inside the IPC-6520, install the
unit in your rack and your system is ready to go.
This rugged IPC solution has a hinged front panel with a protective
Lexan antiglare screen. The rear of the IPC-6520 is open for easy access
to power and video cables. A hold-down retainer provides protection
against the shock and vibration found in industrial environments.
Combine this flexible rackmount monitor kit with the PCA-6570
Touchscreen Kit and IPC-610 Industrial PC Chassis and you’ll have a
high-performance industrial system.

1.3 Monitor dimensions
Before you begin assembling the IPC-6520, you should first determine
if your monitor fits inside the enclosure. The maximum monitor
dimensions that the IPC-6520 can accommodate are 335 mm (H) x 406
mm (W) x 420 mm (D) (13" x 16" x 16.5 ").

Chapter 2 Installation
2.1 Assembling the front panel screen
Use the hardware that has been provided to assemble the front panel
screen as shown in the diagram below.

2.2 Hinge assembly
The IPC-6520’s front panel screen can be opened and closed using two
hinges that are attached to the base of the enclosure. These hinges will
fit around the hinge posts that are attached to the front panel screen in
Figure 2-1. Figure 2-2 below shows how to attach these hinges.

2.3 Left and right panel assembly
Attach the IPC-6520’s left and right panels to the base of the enclosure.
The illustration below shows all the necessary hardware, and illustrates
how to attach these panels.

2.4 Support braces
The illustration below shows how to attach the IPC-6520’s support
braces to the left and right panels.

2.6 Attaching the mounting brackets
The IPC-6520 can be mounted into a 19" rack using two mounting
brackets that are attached to the right and left sides of the enclosure. Be
sure to attach the chains from the front panel assembly to the sides of
the unit as shown below. The following diagram illustrates where and
how to mount these brackets.
2.5 Attaching the front panel screen
Attach the IPC-6520’s front panel screen assembly to the enclosure
according to the illustration shown below.

2.7 Attaching the monitor’s retainers
The IPC-6520 uses four retainers to keep your monitor in a stable
position inside the enclosure. The first illustration (Figure 2-7) shows
the position of the two bottom retainers, and Figure 2-8 shows the
position of the other retainers. We suggest you attach these last two
retainers after you have installed your monitor. They can be adjusted
according to your monitor’s dimensions.
