FCC Part 15 NOTICE: Pursuant to section 15 of the FCC rules, this product has been tested and thereby
complies with the conditions of a Class B digital device, which have been established for offering
sufficient protection against dangerous interference for installation in a residential area. Installation and
use of the equipment should comply with the instructions provided in order to avoid such interference
due to the amount of radio frequency energy that is radiated and generated by the equipment. In spite
of this, we cannot assure that a certain amount of interference may not occur in some installations. If, by
turning on and off, it can be deduced that your radio or television reception is found to be influenced by
harmful interference from the equipment, it is recommended to use one of the following preventive
measures: Place the receiving antenna in a separate location or orientation. Ensure a greater distance is
achieved between the receiver and the equipment. Ensure that your equipment is connected to an outlet
on a separate circuit than the receiver. Contact a technician experienced with radio and TV or a dealer
for further assistance.

1. Introduction
The NS series UPS are advanced true On-Line uninterruptible power supplies
which produce reliable and pure sine-wave power to equipment, ranging from
computers and telecommunication systems to industrial automated equipment.
The On-Line design enables the UPS to adjust and filter power fluctuations
continuously and automatically under normal power conditions. During a power
failure, it can provide immediate back-up power from the batteries without any
interruption. When an overload or UPS malfunction occurs, the system will
automatically transfer to bypass mode and continue supplying output equipment
with utility power. When the overload is removed, the UPS will automatically
transfer back to inverter mode. Malfunctions may be resolved by restarting the
UPS. All the transferences are achieved within 4 ms without interruption.

2. Safety Instructions
This manual contains important instructions that should be followed during
installation, operation, maintenance, and storage of this UPS.
IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNINGS AND INFORMATION
WARNING! DO NOT USE FOR LIFE-SUPPORT EQUIPMENT
•DO NOT use this UPS for applications in which a malfunction or failure of the UPS
would cause failure or alter the performance of a life-support equipment.
WARNING! RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK
•The outlet receptacles may be electrically live even when the UPS is disconnected
from the AC power source.
•This UPS contains potentially hazardous voltages. Do not open the UPS. There
are no user-serviceable parts inside.
•For service personnel, the battery and input circuits are not isolated. High voltage
may exist between the battery terminal and ground; use an electric meter to check
the voltage before beginning any repairs.
•Apart from battery replacement, all maintenance and service work should be
performed by qualified service personnel.
•Turn off the UPS and unplug it from the AC power source before battery replacement.
•Do not connect your UPS to an outlet that is not properly grounded.
•Do not remove the ground connection from the UPS’ power plug.
UPS LOCATION PLACEMENT AND CONNECTION
•Install the UPS in a clean indoor environment, away from excess moisture or heat,
dust or direct sunlight, flammable gases or fumes.
•Place and operate the UPS where the surrounding temperature range is from 32°F to
104°F (0 - 40°C). Optimal battery life is obtained if the temperature does not exceed
86°F (30°C).
•Keep the UPS on a flat, stable surface with adequate space around it for proper
ventilation. Do not block the vents.
•The UPS must be powered from a single phase grounded wall outlet; not a surge
protector or power strip. Avoid storage locations that are excessively humid, near
water, near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
•Do not plug appliances such as electric heaters, toasters and vacuum cleaners into
the UPS.

•Do not connect inductive loads, such as laser printers, to the UPS.
BATTERY WARNING
•This UPS contains a sealed lead-acid battery. DO NOT open the battery.
•DO NOT short or bridge the battery terminals with any object.
•Once the battery has reached the end of its life, ensure that they are properly
disposed. REFER TO YOUR LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS FOR BATTERY
DISPOSAL REQUIREMENTS.

3. Installation
3.1 Unpacking
Examine the packing carton for damage. Notify the carrier immediately if damage is
present. Retain the package for future use.
3.2 Installation
1. Before making any connection and switching on the UPS, please check the
following conditions: (1) your AC power source should be 120 volts and 60Hz and
(2) all the equipment connected to the UPS does not exceed the maximum output
power of the UPS (as indicated on the UPS rear panel and specifications shown
in Section 7).
2. Connect the power cord of the UPS to a working, grounded AC wall socket.
3. Charge the batteries for 8 hours before use. When the power cord is plugged
into the wall outlet and AC power is available, the UPS will automatically recharge
its batteries. You may use the UPS immediately without recharging, but the
backup time may be less than the rating.
4. Connect the power cord of your equipment to the output receptacles of the UPS.
Check the type of power cord before
connecting the plug to the outlet. The
power cord plug should mate with the
outlet.
