The Hogshead

IMPORTANT

AS OWNER/OPERATOR IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO WRITE AND CARRY OUT

YOUR OWN RISK ASSESSMENT BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO USE THIS PRODUCT.

Site survey:

1. Carry out a survey of the area where The Hogshead will be located, and check for

any overhead/underground cables. It’s important that this is carried out to avoid

ground anchors penetrating underground services, and The Hogshead coming into

contact with overhead cables when inflated.

2. You should provide an adequate power supply to the fan, this should adhere to

your local power regulations.

3. Check wind speed: The industry recommends a maximum wind speed of Force 5

on the Beaufort scale of 28 - 38 kmph (19-24 mph). Force 5 is a fresh breeze when

small trees in leaf begin to sway.

Included with your unit:

Extra equipment needed in addition what is supplied with your inflatable:

•Suitable 240v Power Supply to operate the fan

Extra equipment you could consider for your new inflatable:

•Ground sheet to protect the underside of your inflatable

•Sandbag covers to anchor your inflatable indoors

•Sack truck to move your inflatable safely

•RCD to attach to your extension lead

•Crash Mats

This inflatable can be set up and packed away by 3 persons who have

had proper manual handling training and use the correct equipment to

move the inflatable.

Prepare for inflation

The roof and side sheets are already attached to the corresponding places and the unit was packed like this, so

you only need to attach the roof and internal fire places, but in case you need help with any of the sheets, please

check the information below:

▪Place the two parts of “The Hogshead” next to each other. Be sure to connect the two beams that connect the

two parts in the middle (one on the top of the unit, and one in the middle). The connection needs to be done

with a Velcro sheet. (fig. 1a,b)

▪You should also put the roof on the part of the unit which does not have it (the roof is already on one half, and

was packed like this) before it is inflated (fig. 2 & 3). It is easier this way because when it is inflated you would

need a ladder, otherwise you cannot reach it. Installing the roof is easy, because of the Velcro.

▪Be sure to attach the roof to all parts of the unit, and also to the chimney part too. (fig. 4& 5)

▪The top side sheets also need to be attached before the unit is inflated. (fig. 6)

▪Attach the triangle shaped windows, to the corresponding place, the order has no importance, as they are the

same. (fig. 7)

▪Attach the banners of “The Hogshead” also with the help of the Velcro, unless it is not attached already, you can

see this when unpacking. This banner has Velcro only on the top and bottom part of the sheet. The banner

should look like this after inflation (fig. 8)

▪Connect the fans with the 4 filler pipes. Be sure that you do not leave any filler pipe untied (including the

fireplace ones) (fig. 9). that is not connected to a fan, otherwise the unit will lose air.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THE USED FILLERPIPES ARE STRAIGHT WHEN INFLATING

Assembling the metal structure

▪After the unit is inflated you should start to assemble the metallic structure inside of the unit, one half at time.

The structure for one half of the unit should look like the one in fig. 10.

IMPORTANT

TO ASSEMBLE THE METAL STRUCTURE YOU NEED TO MATCH THE COLORS:

WHITE WITH WHITE, GREEN WITH GREEN, RED WITH RED, BLUE WITH BLUE

SIMILARLY COLORED METAL PIECES ARE INTERCHANGABLE

▪Figure 12 shows the color and placement of every metal part in the structure.

▪It is also important that the corners with three legs will be at the two ends of the units, and it should lean inwards,

while the corners that have an L shape will come in the middle of the unit, they should also lean inwards (see

pict.9b). The aim is that all the corners should lean inwards. (fig. 11)

▪After one half is ready, the same steps need to be followed for the other part of the metallic structure.

Assembling the internal fireplaces

After the unit is inflated and both metal structures are assembled, you may install the internal fireplaces.

▪Connect the filler pipe of the fireplace to the unit with the help of the supplied flexi pipe, as seen in the pictures

below: Please notice the pipe runs through both filler pipes, but is totally hidden. (fig. 13)

Make sure that the air can go through the flexi pipe: it is not twisted or blocked by anything.

▪The fireplace is connected to the structure of the unit by 2 Velcro strips seen in figure 14.

The two chimneys of the fireplace can be attached to the structure of the unit with the help of the

cambuckles found on top of the chimneys.

Emergency Exits

Please notice there are 2 emergency exits through the fireplaces.

All the pictures and drawings are for illustration purposes only.
