Overview
T e ANT-48100 TRANSCODER is a ig ly flexible IP to IP transcoder. Featuring up
to 4 c annels of decoding on one Et ernet port (NIC) and 1 c annel of re encoding
(Transcoding) on a second Et ernet Port (NIC). T is transcoder is intended for IP to
IP transcoding wit out offering any local video inputs or outputs. T e Transcoder
engine can take up to 4 decoded streams and re encode t en as a 1x1 (full screen)
or 2x2 image wit a main stream and secondary stream. T e decoder block can
decode 1-4 streams t en combine t em as a quad image or in t e case of one
decoded stream a single image. T ese quad and single images can also be scaled
to 1080P 720P and 576P resolutions. Additionally, t e decoder engine can decode
URLs or pre recorded video files. SRT decoding is supported.
Once decoded and scaled t e images pass to t e Encoder engine. T e encoder can
t en re-encode (transcode) t ese decoded streams as HTTP, RTSP, RTP,
MPEG-TS, RTMP or SRT streams on to a completely independent LAN Network
Interface.
As t e Transcoder features two independent Network interfaces it acts as an
effective Video stream air gap between two networks.

T e ANT-48100 box contains

-12 Volt Power converter wit UK/EU/USA and C ina adaptors
2. Se ing up he ANT-48100
Connect t e bot of t e Et ernet ports of t e ANT-48100 to a laptop or PC via an
Et ernet switc using standard et ernet cables.
Connect t e 12 volt power input and switc on.
T e ANT-48100 will take approximately 1 minute to boot up. You will see t ere are 1
LED on t e front. On power up t is LED will illuminate RED. You are now ready to
setup t e ANT-48100 Transcoder
3. ANT-48100 IP
addresses and Log In
T e ANT-48100 default IP address is
192.168.1.160 (IP-IN) and 192.168.1.168
(IP-OUT). Please set t e laptop/PC Et ernet IP
address to be in t e same sub-domain e.g
192.168.1.XXX
Open C rome to view settings and Preview
video (or ot er up to date browser to just view settings wit out video preview) and
browse to 192.168.1.160 and / or 192.168.1.168
You will be asked to LOGIN: User : admin , password: admin

T e status tab will s ow you information on t e IP Input settings. T is is effectively a
decoder wit in t e transcoder and can decode up to 4 streams or files. T is screen
will s ow if you are in 1x1 mode (1-1 transcode) or 2x2 mode (4 c annels decoded
and arranged as a quad image t en transcoded). T e input URLs or files are s own

4.2 Ne work
T is section defines t e network settings of t e IP Et ernet input port. NOTE! T e
ANT-48100 as two et ernet ports (NICs) w ic are independent. T is setting is for
t e IP input (decode)

4.3 Video Source
Video Source as 3 sub sections: On pro ocol Video, P2P video and SRT
se ings, as t is a quick start guide, we will only be t e using On pro ocol Video
setting
4.3.1 On Pro ocol Video
Ou pu Resolu ion: T is allows you to set t e resolution of t e decoded
image/images prior to re encoding
Ne work Caching: T is is a buffer for t e decoder section and elps wit Network
jitter but as a result introduces latency in t e overall Transcode process.
MPTS Program: select t e program from a MPTS stream
Priva e Pro ocol: Future use / functionality to be advised
Pa h Se ing: T is is eit er a URL or a .SDP file location for using as t e source of
t e decoder section
Spli Mode (if using a URL): Select 1x1 or 2x2 mode (quad) for decoding
Inpu : 1-4: T ese are t e URLs for t e 4 decoded inputs. Generally, you would use
1 input in 1x1 mode or 2, 3 or 4 inputs for 2x2 mode.

Sys em Se ings Tab: T is allows t e Decoder section of t e transcoder to be
Factory Reset or rebooted
Change Password: Allows for t e default admin password or previously used
password to be c anged.
Upda e: T is allows firmware for t e decoder section to be upgraded
Version: T e firmware currently installed for t e Decoder part of t e Transcoder.
Timing Reboo : Allows t e Decoder section to be rebooted automatically every N
Hours ( 0-200 Hours)

Video Parame ers: s ows t e resolution and frame rate of t e signal input being
supplied by t e decoder section, and t e encoding frame rate as set in t e Output 1
section

Preview: Allows a delayed preview of t e encoded video stream if using C rome as
a browser. RTMP-HLS as to be set to “open” – see section 5.3.5 RTMP-HLS
5.2 Ne work
T is section allows you set t e Transcoder (Encoder) network IP address , DHCP
On/Off and ot er network settings suc as Gateway , Netmask, DNS and information
about t e MAC address.
5.2 Ou pu 1
T is section defines t e Encoder parameters, type off Codec and all ot er encoder
settings. As t is is a quick start guide only t e basics will be mentioned.

Aspec Ra io: Defines Auto, 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio for t e streamed image
Bi ra e Con rol: CBR or VBR modes
Key In erval: T is is t e GOP for t e encoder ratio of I to P frames.
Encoded Size: Resolution settings
Bi ra e: Set t e encoder bit rate in kilo bits per second (1 = 1kB/s)
Encoded Frame Ra e: Frames per second of encoded stream
HTTP: Select Enable if you wis to use ttp streaming and edit t e stream identifier
RTSP: Select Enable to use RTSP mode and edit t e stream
RTSP Au hen ica ion: Enable user name password RTSP aut entication
RTSP Mode: Video + Audio, video or Audio only
