Before using the Dictionary, please, read this operation manual thoroughly and be sure to follow the correct
operating procedures. Keep this operation manual for future reference.
• The Translator should be kept in areas free from extreme temperature changes, moisture and dust.
• A soft, dry cloth should be used to clean the Dictionary. Do not use solvents or a wet cloth for this purpose.
• This Dictionary is precision-built. Do not subject the device to strong shock by striking or dropping it.
• Do not place objects on the keyboard.
• Be sure that the positive (+) and negative (-) poles of each battery are facing in the proper direction.
• Never mix old batteries with new ones.
• Never disassemble or attempt to repair the Dictionary and its accessories.
• To avoid interference, do not place the Dictionary too close to a radio receiver, television or any other home
appliances which are powered. If there is interference to the Dictionary, it may not work properly and the
display may be not clear enough.
• When you switch off the Translator, please wait at least 10 seconds before switching on again otherwise it
may result in faulty operation and possible hardware damage.
• The Dictionary contains alkaline batteries which must be recycled or disposed properly.

2. The 2 languages of the PHRASE-BOOK are Russian and English. It contains also about 4 600 of useful
sentences voiced in 2 languages in total, each language has over 2 300 of common phrases.

4. LOCAL TIME CLOCK species your local date and time. It will alarm you when you set up your BEEP
ALARM. 12-hour or 24-hour formats and Summer time can be specied.

1. Battery Fitting
The Translator uses 2×AAA batteries for power supply. If the battery status is low, replace 2×AAA alkaline
batteries immediately. The actual service life depends on the use of batteries. We recommend keeping the
following steps:
• Replace the 2×AAA batteries supplied with the unit not longer than 3 months after purchasing.
• Be sure that the positive and negative poles of each battery are facing the proper direction.
• Never mix batteries of different types.
• Never mix old batteries and new ones.
• Never leave dead batteries in the battery compartment.
2. Replacing the battery
a) Turn off the machine.
b) Slide off the battery door according the direction indicated by the arrow. The battery door joints the
translator case.
c) Remove the old batteries and install 2×AAA batteries in the correct polarity corresponding to the symbol
indicated inside the battery compartment.
d) Make sure that the batteries make a good contact with the metal plates.
e) Cover the battery door.
