ADVICE FOR USE IN ROAD TRAFFIC

For the use of bic cles in general and pedelecs in particular special regulations appl in man countries. Please

refer to the applicable traffic regulations of our countr or region, e.g. in bic cle associations or the Ministr of

Transport. Inform ourself constantl about changed contents of the valid regulations.

•Alwa s explain to our child new contents of the current regulations.

•Onl let our child drive alone in public road traffic, if it is permitted b the legal regulations and if ou are

convinced that our child can participate in the traffic.

•Explain to our child which lane it is allowed to use with a BEN-E-BIKE. In man countries this is the

sidewalk for oung children.

•Teach our child to drive defensivel or cautiousl and to consider other road users.

•Teach our child to drive so that nobod is harmed, endangered or unnecessaril disabled or harassed.

Man regions offer courses for children. Here, our child can pla full learn driving and correct behaviour in

traffic.

Regulati ns f r lighting

To ride on the road, bic cles must be equipped with headlamps, taillights, cat e es on pedals and wheels, a white

front reflector and a red rear reflector. All these lighting components must meet the countr -specific

requirements and be marked with an appropriate test mark.

We explicitl point out that all BEN-E-BIKES ex works are n t equipped with the above-mentioned, required

components and ma not be used in public road traffic without prior retrofitting.

To ride on the road bic cles must be equipped with two independent brakes and a bell.

Bicycle helmet

EN 1078 and comes with a CE mark.

ADVICE FOR OFFROAD USE

Has our child ever ridden a mountain bike? Off-road driving requires special concentration, fitness and exercise.

Your child should graduall familiarize himself with a BEN-E-BIKE in an inanimate place. In some regions special

technical courses for children are offered, in which off-road driving can be practiced.
