2. Safety Information
• Thehoseandsealontheregulatormustbecheckedforwearordamage
beforeeveryuseandbeforeconnectingtothegascylinder(seeFig.1).
• Ensuretheapplianceisusedawayfromammablematerials.Minimum
safedistancesare1.2mabovetheapplianceand600mmtotherear
andsidesoftheappliance(seeFig.2).
• Donotuseanappliancethatisdamaged,leaking,orwhichdoesnot
operateproperly.
• Keepgascylindersawayfromheatandames.Donotplaceonastove
oranyotherhotsurface.
• Ensurethattheassembledunitisstableanddoesnotrock.
• Donotcoverorchangetheprimaryairsupplyopeningsintheburners
asthiswillaffecttheperformanceoftheproductandmayleadtoan
unstableame.
• Intheeventofburnback,(wheretheameburnsbackandignitesat
thejet),immediatelyturnoffthegassupplybyrstclosingthecontrol
valveonthegascylinderandthentheappliancevalve.Aftertheame
isextinguishedremovetheregulatorandchecktheconditionofits
seal.Replacethesealifindoubt.Re-lighttheapplianceasdescribed
inSection3below.Shouldtheamelightbackpersistentlyreturnthe
producttoyourauthorizedCADACrepairagent.
• Ifthereisaleakonyourappliance(smellofgas),immediatelyclosethe
controlknobonthegascylinder.Ifyouwishtocheckforleaksonyour
appliance,doitoutside.Donottrytodetectleaksusingaame;use
soapywater.
• Thecorrectwayistosmearthejointswithsoapywater.Ifabubbleor
bubblesformthenthereisagasleak.Immediatelyturnoffthegas
supplyrstlybyclosingthecontrolvalveonthegascontainerandthen
theappliancevalve.Checkthatalltheconnectionsareproperlytted.
Re-checkwithsoapywater.Ifagasleakpersists,returntheproductto
yourCADACdealerforinspection/repair.
• Donotmodifytheapplianceoruseitforanythingwhichithasnotbeen
designedfor.
• Duringuse,partoftheappliancewillbecomehot,particularlythe
cookingareasandthehood.Avoidtouchinghotpartswithyourbare
hands.Theuseofovenglovesisrecommended.
• Keepyoungchildrenawayfromtheapplianceatalltimes.
• Thisapplianceconsumesoxygenandneedsventilationforoptimum
performanceandforthesafetyofthoseincloseproximity.Use

• Thepartssealedbythemanufactureroritsagentmustnotbealtered
bytheuser.
NOTE
• Donottwistorpinchthehose.Ensurethatitiskeptawayfromthe
BBQbodysoastopreventdeterioration/damagetothehosecausedby
heat.
• Fitoneendofthelowpressurehoseontotheregulatornozzle.Thread
theotherendfrominsidecabinet,throughtheholeontheleftside
panel,ontothePatioBBQnozzle.Pushtheendsonasrmlyas
possible.Clampthemintopositionusinghoseclampsatbothendsof
thehose.
• Ensurethattheconnectionsaremadesecurelyanddonotallowgasto
leak.
• Checkforgasleaksbeforeusingtheappliance.
• Forusewithanapprovedhoseandregulatorconnectedtoarellable
gascontainernotexceeding9kgandcomplyingwithlocalregulationin
force.
• Donotobstructtheventilationopeningsofthecabinet.
• Donotmodifytheappliance.Modifyingtheappliancemaybe
dangerous.
• Warning:AnLPcylindernotconnectedforuseshallnotbestoredinthe
vicinityofthisoranyotherappliance.

3. Using the Appliance
• Placethecylinderinsidethecabinetthroughthebackofthecabinetintotheallocatedspace.
• Usethisapplianceonlyonarmlevelsurface.
• Beforeuseensurethatthedripcupisinplace.
• Makesurethegascylinderiscorrectlyttedtotheappliance.
• Ensurethecylindercontrolvalveisintheopenposition.
• Note!Allburnersarettedwithanautomaticigniter.
Tolighttheapplianceusingtheautomaticigniter,rstensurethedomeisintheopenposition.Pushinandturnthecontrolknob
inananti-clockwisedirectionuntilspringresistanceisfelt.Holdtheknobinthispositionfor3–5secondstoallowthegastoow
andthenturntheknobfullyanti-clockwisetotheHIGHposition.Thiswillcausetheautomaticlightertolighttheburner.Should
theburnernotignitethersttime,turnthecontrolknobtotheOFFpositionandwait5minutes,repeattheprocessuntiltheburner
ignites.
• Manual ignition:Tolighttheburnersmanually,rstremovethegrillplateandthedeectorplatedirectlyunderneathit.Igniteamatch
orrelighterandpositionitnexttothelefthandburner.Turnonthegassupplytothatburneronlybypushingthecontrolvalveinand
turningitinananti-clockwisedirection.Thiswillignitetheburner.Oncetheburnerisignited,carefullyreplacethedeectorplate
andcastirongrillplate.Youwillnowbeabletolighttheremainderoftheburnersasabove.
• Usethecontrolknobstoadjusttheindividualburnerameintensitytothedesiredlevelbyturningtheknobanti-clockwiseto
decreasetheameandclockwisetoincreaseit(seeFig.3).
• Afteruse,rstclosethevalveonthegascylinder.Whentheameisextinguished,closetheburnercontrolvalvesontheapplianceby
turningcontrolknobsfullyclockwise.
4. Fitting and Changing the Gas Cylinder
• Beforeconnectingtheappliancetoagascylinder,ensurethattherubbersealontheregulatorisinpositionandingoodcondition.
• Carryoutthischeckeachtimeyouttheappliancetoagascylinder(seeg.1).
• Blowoutanydustfromthecylinderopeningtopreventpossibleblockageofthejet.
• Ensurethegascylinderisttedorchangedoutdoors,awayfromanysourceofignitionsuchasnakedames,andawayfromother
people.
• Makesurethatthegascylinderiskeptuprightatalltimes.Handtightentheregulatorontothecylinderuntilitisfullyengaged.
• Ifthereisaleakonyourappliance(smellofgas),extinguishallsourcesofignitioninthevicinityoftheappliance.Ifyouwishto
checkforleaksonyourappliance,usesoapywaterwhichisappliedtothesuspectedarea.Aformationofbubbleswillindicateagas
leak.Checkthatalltheconnectionsaresecurelyttedandre-checkwithsoapywater.Ifyoucannotrectifythegasleak,donotuse
theappliance.ContactyourlocalCADACstockistforassistance.
• Whenchangingagascylinder,rstclosethecylindervalveandthentheappliancevalve,makingsuretheameisextinguishedand
unscrewtheregulator.Re-ttheregulatortoafullcylinderfollowingthesameprecautionsasdescribedabove.
• Aftertheappliancehasbeenfullyassembled,performagasleaktestbeforeoperatingtheappliance.
5. General Maintenance
• Therearenopredeterminedmaintenanceintervalsforthisappliance.
• Itisdangeroustouseanappliancewithacrackedorperishedsealand/orhose.Inspectbothsealsandhoseregularlyandreplaceif
theyarenotinorderbeforeusingtheappliance.
• Iftheappliancewasinuseitwillbehot.Allowtocoolsufcientlybeforeattemptinganymaintenance.
• CADACPatioBBQ’sarettedwithspesicCADACjetstoregulatethecorrectamountofgas.ShouldtheholeintheJetbecome
blockeditmayresultinasmallameornoameatall.DonotattempttocleantheJetwithapinorothersuchdeviceasthismay
damagethehole,whichcouldmaketheapplianceunsafe.Referto“Introduction“(Section1)forjetsizes.
5.1.Replacing a Blocked Jet
• Ensurethatthecylindervalveisclosed,thendisconnecttheappliancefromthegascylinder.
• Removethegrillplates.Removetheametamerstoexposetheburners.Removetheretainingscrewsoftheaffectedburner.
• Removetheaffectedburnerbyliftingitoutofitslocationtakingcarenottodamagethecontrolvalvewhilstdoingso.Thiswillexpose
theJet.
• UnscrewtheblockedJetwithasuitablespannerandreplaceitwithanewJet.DonotusepliersontheJetastheycancausedamage,
makingtheJetunusableorimpossibletoremove.
• Tore-assemble,reversetheaboveprocedure.DonotovertightenasthismaydamagetheJet.
5.2.Replacement of Hose
• Thehoselengthshouldnotbelessthan0.8morexceed1.2m.Checktheexpirydateonthehoseandreplacewhennecessary.Fitting
ofahoseisdescribedinSection2.OnlyanLPGhosethatcomplieswithSANS1156-2,BS3212orDIN4815maybeusedwiththis
appliance.

9. Spares and Accessories
• AlwaysusegenuineCADACsparesastheyhavebeendesignedtogiveoptimumperformance.
6. Troubleshooting
• Anormalameisblueandmayhaveanorangeoryellowtip.Iftheameiscompletelyyellow,itmaybethatthejetisnotsecurely
tted.Re-tightenthejettoensurethereisnogasleakage.Anoverlledgascylindercanalsocauselargeyellowames.Ifthisisthe
casethecylindershouldbereturnedtothellingstationandcheckedbyweight.
• Checkthattheprimaryairsupplyholesintheburnersareclearandfreeofobstructions.
• Iftheamepowerdropsorthegaswillnotlight,checkthatthegascylinderstillcontainsgas(shaketohearthenoisemadebya
liquid).Ifthereisstillgas,thejetmightbeblockedorpartiallyblocked.
• Ifyoususpectablockedjet,followtheinstructionsabovetocleanorreplaceit.
7. Cleaning
• Tocleanthebody,simplywipewithadampclothusingalittledetergentifnecessary.
• Donotuseabrasivecleanersorscourersasthiswillcausepermanentdamagetothepaintedsurface.
• Eventhoughstainlesssteelisremarkablyresistanttotarnishandrustrelativetoordinarysteels,itstillrequirespropercare.We
recommendthefollowing:
• Afteruse,cleanthestainlesssteelsurfaceswithcleanwaterandasoftclothforlightcleaning,whileacommerciallyavailable
stainlesssteelcleanerwithasoftclothshouldbeusedfortougherareas.Ensurethatyouremoveallexcessstainlesssteelcleaner
aftercleaningyourBBQ.
• Torepairminorteastainingorpitting,youcanusealight,non-metallicscourer.Itisimportantthatyourubwiththenaturalgrainof
thestainlesssteelsurfacetoavoidleavingvisiblescratchmarks.
• Betweenuses,itisagoodideatoleavethebarbequecoveredtopreventdustandairbornesaltssettlingonthestainlesssteel
surfaces.
• Withasmallamountofcare,yourinvestmentinqualitystainlesssteelwillkeepitsbeautifulnishaswellasitsvalueforalongtime
tocome.
8. Storage
• Handletheappliancewithcare.Donotdropit.
• Afteruse,waituntiltheappliancehascooleddown,disconnectitfromthegascylinderandstoreinacooldryplaceawayfromheat.
• Keepthedomeclosedwhennotinusetopreventdirtandinsectsfallingintotheunit,whichmayaffectthegasow.
• UseaCADACBBQcover,especiallyiftheunitisstoredoutdoors.
• Beforeeveryuse,ensurethattheburnersandventuriesarefreeofinsects,dustandspiderwebs.

ThisLimitedWarrantydoesnotcoveranyfailuresoroperatingdifcultiesduetoaccident,abuse,misuse,alteration,misapplication,
vandalism,improperinstallationorimpropermaintenanceorservice,orfailuretoperformnormalandroutinemaintenance,includingbut
notlimitedtodamagecausedbyinsectswithintheburnertubes,assetoutinthisowner’smanual.
Deteriorationordamageduetosevereweatherconditionssuchashail,hurricanes,earthquakesortornadoes,discolorationdueto
exposuretochemicalseitherdirectlyorintheatmosphere,isnotcoveredbythisLimitedWarranty.
Therearenootherexpresswarrantsexceptassetforthhereinandanyapplicableimpliedwarrantiesofmerchantabilityandtnessare
limitedindurationtotheperiodofcoverageofthisexpresswrittenLimitedWarranty.Someregionsdonotallowlimitationonhowlongan
impliedwarrantylasts,sothislimitationmaynotapplytoyou.
CADACisnotliableforanyspecial,indirectorconsequentialdamages.Someregionsdonotallowtheexclusionorlimitationofincidental
orconsequentialdamages,tothislimitationorexclusionmaynotapplytoyou.
