Setting up the C-100

You can access most of the functions through the “Menu” button at the back of your camera.

You can change them with the joystick on the right-hand side of your camera.

Fixed settings

These will stay the same once you begin shooting

Peaking > On (to help you focus)

Select > Peaking 1

Peaking 1 > Color Red

Frame rate ask your instructor whether you should shoot at 24 frames per second or 30

frames per second.

LCD/VF set up

Zebra > On (to help you see if your image is properly exposed)

Select > Zebra 1

Zebra 1 Level > 70 +- 5%

5Shutter Speed & other settings

Your Shutter Speed should match the Frame Rate (24 frames per second uses a shutter

speed of 1/48, and 30 frames per second uses a shutter speed of 1/60).

Custom Picture: Ask your instructor about the settings he/she prefers. Choose one and be

consistent within each video.

Variable Settings

You will be adjusting these as you change

locations and subjects.

ISO

Press the ISO/Gain button on the left-hand side of the camera.

Adjust the level with the joystick on the top of the handle of your camera.

Guidelines: Don’t go under 850 or over 8,500.

Aperture

Adjust by scrolling the wheel on top of the camera left or right.

White Balance

Press the WB button on the left-hand side of the camera.

Take an automatic White Balance reading by pressing the button above the WB button, or

use the “K” option to adjust it manually using the joystick on the right side of the camera.
