To avoid potential hazards, stop using the battery in case it is deformed or becomes alarmingly hot.

To dislay the Firmware version: Hold SHUTTER while switiching on, the FW version will be

displayed briefly on lower-right cornerof the opening screen.

Press UP / DOWN to find the Language option , then Press OK to enter

Press UP / DOWN to select the desired Language, then Press OK to confirm and Exit Menu

Plug AC adaptor to power supply and connect Camera via USB socket, or

When SD card (not included) is inserted, internal memeory will not be assessible.

This camera is uniquely programmed to give off 2 strengths of flash:

In case of extreme lighting conditions, adjust EV levels (see 17 Setup>Exposure) to compensate

Higher EV yields brighter image and vice versa. Adjustable EV range +3 ~ -3 step 1

Always take the Camera with you when buying the SD card (max 16G) to ensure compability.

Always use a hand strap, free fall would cause permanent damage to Camera.

Connect Camera to PC via USB (PC must be switched on)

Avoid using and storing the Camera in hot and humid environment.

Do not open the shell of Camera, high voltage circuit could cause electric shock.

Mass Storage Device and as a PC webcam

This camera can take still photos, record video clips and sound tracks, and use as a

This camera is not equipped with a mechanical shutter, dragging image might result when

photographying fast moving objects.

Run once the <SD1400IS Driver> on the disc provided (Restart Computer when prompted)

This icon tells you the battery needs recharging. Download promptly if not using a memory

Battery LED will turn RED while charging. LED will turn GREEN when charing is completed.

9 About Face Detection

2 Detection works best between 1 ~ 3M and with faces facing directly to camera.

3 This function requires manual Shutter to take photos

10 About Smile Capture

2 Detection works best between 1 ~ 1.5M and with faces facing directly to camera.

3 When a Smiling face is detected, the Camera will take a photo automatically, and continuously.

4 There are two sensitivity levels availale for you to select:

Skin Tone Distance Ambient

Darker Far Darker

Lighter Near Brighter

Note:

If neither sensitivities is satisfactory due to other complications, switch back to Manual Shutter.

Raise ISO setting will yield more noise in the photos

"Low Battery" warning will display when battery level is too low for charging the Flash

Power LED (see 1.2) will flash during flash-charing. SHUTTER is locked before charging

Install Driver Once (see 5above) for Windows 98 or lower operating systems

Connect Camera to PC via USB and locate "Digital Camera" under "My Computer"

Sensitivity Needed

When this function is turned On, the Face Detection Function will also be turned On automatically.

While charging, Power LED will blink, and "Flash not ready" will show if shutter is pressed

There are 2 selectable Forced Flash Modes: Strong: >2M Soft: <2M

When turned On, the most prominent detectable face will be locked with a white frame

Higher (less facial movements needed)

Lower (more facial movements needed)

Install driver Once (see 3above)

Auto Flash: Camera will determine when to flash (Strong Flash). Switch to Soft Flash if too

Hold SHUTTER while connecting Camera to PC via USB

High Low

If Flash is not an option, try Higher ISO setting (see 17 Scene>High Senitivity and 17 Setup>ISO )

When ambient light is bright, the flash might not make anysignificant difference
