Introduction
Cansec Systems’H1000 control panel utilizes a 32-bit processor and implements
new system architecture. This new architecture allows for easy system upgrades
without the need for H1000 control panel replacement. Included in the new
H1000 architecture is the ability to ‘Flash’ applications and firmware updates into
the control panel using the existing host communication connection port.
The H1000 control panel is ‘flashed with CP40 emulation code’ and thus supports
up to 65,000 users. In the CP40 mode emulation, and using Hurricane software,
the H1000 control panel supports two door combinations where each door may
have an Entry and an Exit reader. The readers can be Cansec’s CanProx One
Proximity Readers (AWID or HID card technology) or one of many other popular
Wiegand readers.
The H1000 control panel has provisions to support industry-standard 26-bit
Wiegand, Cansec 37-bit Wiegand or the HID Corporate 1000 format. The H1000
control panel board supports 8 on-board inputs (supervised or non-supervised), and
8 on-board Form “C” relay outputs. Standard firmware supports elevator control.

Specification Notes
CAUTION: EMERGENCY LOCKDOWN
Emergency lockdown functions must operate totally independent of the access
control system and must not rely on operation of card readers, access control
panels, communications networks, communications devices or host software.
Cansec accepts no responsibility for direct or consequential damages resulting from
the failure of emergency lockdown functions which are dependant in any way on
the operation of card readers, access control panels, communications networks,
communications devices or host software.
NOTE:
Improper Wiegand cable (new or originally installed cable, or missing required
shield connections) may result in high frequency noise present on the data lines -
this Wiegand misread issue is more evident on longer Wiegand reader cables. If the
suggested modification below does not correct the problem, the reader cable may
have to be replaced with the correct type of Wiegand reader cable.
Attach two 0.1uF capacitors (any capacitor voltage > 16 VDC). Place the capacitors
at the H1000 reader connector with:
one 0.1uF capacitor between pin 1 (D0) and Pin 5 (Ground)
one 0.1uF capacitor between pin 2 (D1) and Pin 5 (Ground)
NOTE 1: Suggested Cansec Power Supply - CA-PS123A
The Cansec CA-PS123A (12VDC/2A) power supply should be used with H1000
controller for CP40 compatibility. This power supply allows for connection of one
H1000 controller, two standard locks and two standard proximity readers.
Additional Power Supply Information: Power requirements of attached locks and
readers will have to be calculated based on the reader/lock manufacturer. As
mentioned above, Cansec’s standard Power Supply is a good choice. When using a
16V 40 VA AC transformer there is about 1.5 amps continuous current available
for the devices, with the remaining current used to charge the 12volt SLA battery.

CA-PS123A Specifications Notice:
When using a pluggable 16 VAC standard 40 VA transformer:
Maximum Continuous Current (no battery attached): 2 amps for 12 VDC on
the Output.
Maximum Continuous Current (battery attached): 1.5 amps for 12 VDC on the
Output (battery will be charging when needed).
Using a wire in 16 VAC standard 75 VA transformer:
Maximum Continuous Current (no battery attached): 2.5 amps for 12 VDC on
the Output.
Maximum Continuous Current (battery attached): 2.0 amps for 12 VDC on the
Output (battery will be charging when needed).
Surge currents need to be taken into account. High current devices like electric
strikes and magnetic locks have surge currents which are usually double the
running current.
The CA-PS123A’s DC output is fused at 2.5 amps.
An electrician is not required for installation of this supply.
NOTE 2: Power Savings
If JP19 and JP20 are placed to the OFF position, all non-essential LEDs will not
indicate thus conserving power. This can be implemented after the system is
installed and approved. See Figure 1 for location of JP19 and JP20.
NOTE 3: 6 Amp Relay Rating
This is the maximum current that can be switched reliably when connected to a
‘NON-Inductive load’ up to 30VDC. Electric strikes and magnetic locks are
considered ‘Inductive Loads’. It is important to have the diode or MOV attached at
the locking device to remove the CEMF pulse that is generated when switching an
‘Inductive Load’. It is advisable to use a 50% switch factor or 3 amps as the
maximum switching current for longer relay life. An external relay should be used
on larger voltage and current requirements.

IMPORTANT: In some jurisdictions, the use of a UL approved power
supply and connection to the fire alarm system for emergency release may be
required. Installers should contact the local authority having jurisdiction to
verify the specific requirements. Also, a building permit may be required in
some jurisdictions for the installation of magnetic locks.
