• NB! When a PCI-card is installed, it is very important that the
computer is turned off.
• Computer components are very sensitive to static electricity;
preferably use an anti-static bracelet when you mount the PCI-card;
if you don't have such a bracelet, you can do as follows: Drain your
charge by holding the computer chassis shortly before and during
the time you handle the PCI-card.
1. Turn off the computer and all connected units; unplug the
computer’s power cord plug.
2. Open up the computer cabinet so the mother board becomes
accessible.
3. Mount the modem in a free PCI-slot; don’t push too hard when
mounting the card, otherwise you might damage the mother board.
4. Securethecardwithascreworotherformoftting.(When
correctly mounted, the PCI-card shall be pushed down equally far
along the full length of the slot).
5. Assemble the computer cabinet (make certain no cables are jammed).
6. Start the computer and install the device drivers.
NB! Close Antivirus programs and other active programs that are
not needed for the installation.

1. Start the computer when the modem is mounted.
2. Put the CD with device drivers in the CD-player.
3. Windowswillautomaticallyndthemodemandstarttheinstallation
guide.
4. Click Cancel.
5. After that, the device drivers must be installed: Open the
supplemented CD in Windows Explorer and double click Modem
Driver.
6. The installation will now be completely automatic!
3A. Manual installation using Win 98SE
Start the computer when the modem is mounted.
1. The Guide: New hardware detected is started. Click Cancel and put
the CD with device drivers in the CD-player.
2. Open Windows Explorer and double click the supplemented CD:
X:\Modem Driver (X corresponds to the device letter for your CD-
player).
3. Double click Driver and then Win98SE.
4. The installation will now be automatic in several steps.
5. Restart the computer when installation is completed.
6. The modem will be displayed as “PCI SoftV.92 Modem” under
Modem in Control Panel when it is installed and ready.

3B. Manual installation using Win XP
The installation may also be done manually:
1. Install the device driver: Open the supplemented CD in Windows
Explorer and click X:\Driver (X corresponds to the device letter for
your CD-player).
2. Double click the desired device driver: Win2k_XP for Windows XP
and 2000, Win98SE or WinME.
3. Double click HXFSetup.exe.
4. Check that the modem is correctly installed in the following manner:
Open Control Panel and click Phone and Modem, make certain
that “PCISoftV.92 Modem” is in the list, click Properties to display
additional information.
Connect the supplemented cable to a telephone jack with the telephone
plug, or loosen the plug and use the modular contact.
Connect the free end of the cable to ”LINE” on the modem.
All you need to do now is create a remote connection, to be able to
call your Internet supplier.
It can be done in different ways; check the documents you have
received from your Internet supplier.

Always start with the simplest action:
1. Have you put the telephone plug in the telephone jack?
2. Have you connected the cable in a correct manner to ”LINE” on the
modem?
3. Does the telephone work? Connect the telephone; do you have a
dialling tone?
4. Have you entered the correct username and password? (username
does not have to be your name or mail address)
5. Do you perhaps need to dial an extra digit to pass the telephone
switchboard?
6. You may try to switch places; put the modem in a different
expansion slot, if nothing else helps.
7. Go to Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager and right
click on Modem; choose Properties, where information about the
function of the modem is found under different tabs.
8. Sometimes a reboot can work miracles in correcting errors!

• Obs! När ett PCI kort skall installeras är det mycket viktigt att
datorn är avstängd.
• Datorkomponenter är mycket känsliga för statisk elektricitet, använd
helst antistatarmband när du monterar PCI-kortet, om du inte har
ett sådant kan du göra så här: Avled din egen laddning genom att
hålla i datorchassiet strax innan, och under tiden som du hanterar
PCI-kortet.
1. Stäng av datorn och alla anslutna enheter, dra ur stickproppen till
datorn.
2. Dela datorlådan så att moderkortet blir åtkomligt.
3. Montera modemet i en ledig PCI-plats, tryck inte för hårt när kortet
monteras moderkortet kan ta skada.
4. Fixera kortet med skruv eller annan typ av låsning. (PCI-kortet
ska vara intryckt lika långt längs hela kontaktraden när det är rätt
monterat).
5. Skruva ihop datorlådan (se till att inga kablar kommer i kläm).
6. Starta datorn och installera drivrutinerna.
Obs! Stäng av Antivirusprogram och andra aktiva program, som
inte behövs för installationen.

1. Starta datorn när modemet är monterat.
2. Sätt in cd-skivan med drivrutinerna i cd-läsaren.
3. Windows hittar modemet automatiskt och startar installationsguiden
4. Klicka på [Avbryt].
5. Efter det måste drivrutinen installeras: Öppna den bifogade
cd-skivan i Utforskaren och dubbelklicka på Modem Driver.
6. Nu kommer installationen att ske helt automatiskt!
