Safety
• The product should only be repaired by qualied service personnel.
• The product should not be taken apart or modied.
• Do not place the product where it could fall into water or other type of liquid. Do not place
any objects which contain liquid on the product, e.g. vases or drinks.
• Make sure that the electrical outlet the device is plugged into is easily accessible since
the plug is used to disconnect the device from the mains.
• Do not cover the product. Adequate ventilation with a distance of at least 15 cm between
ventilation holes and the surrounding area is necessary to prevent the device from
becoming too warm.
• Do not place the device in a damp, dusty environment or where there are heavy
vibrations.
• The standby switch on the front of the device does not disconnect the device from the
mains. To completely turn off the device the switch on the back of the player must be set
to the OFF (0) position or the plug must be removed from the power point.
• Remove the batteries if the product is not to be used for a longer period of time.
The batteries can begin to leak and damage the device or cause personal injury.
• Long exposure to high volume from headphones can damage your hearing.

ists in unprotected components within the product’s casing.
Contact with these can lead to re or give electric shocks.

Getting Started
Mains connection
Connect the mains lead to the power input on the back of the player (29) and then connect
the plug to a power point.
Inserting the batteries
1. Remove the battery cover by sliding it backwards in the direction of the arrows.
2. Insert 8 x LR14/C batteries. Make sure to insert the batteries according to the polarity
markings beside the battery compartment.
3. Replace the battery cover.
N.B.
• When the player is run on batteries the power lead should not be used.
• Remove the batteries if the product is not to be used for a longer period of time.
The batteries can begin to leak and damage the device or cause personal injury.
Inserting the remote control’s batteries
1. Remove the battery cover by sliding it backwards in the direction of the arrows.
2. Insert 2 x LR03/AAA-batteries. Insert the batteries correctly according to the polarity
markings inside the battery compartment.
3. Replace the battery cover.
Operating Instructions
Listening to the radio
1. Move the function switch (7) to the RADIO position. The indicator (17) should be lit.
2. Choose the desired radio band with the switch (12).
3. Set desired frequency with the tuning knob [14].
4. Lift up and extend the telescopic aerial to ne tune FM reception. For AM reception the
built-in aerial is used.
5. Adjust the volume with the volume control (15).
6. To turn off the radio, turn the function switch to the OFF position.
N.B.
• When the band switch is in FM ST mode, and there is stereo reception the stereo
indicator will be lit (11).
• If the reception is unsatisfactory try the regular FM (mono) setting.
How to get the best reception
For FM: Pull out and adjust the telescopic aerial for the best possible reception.
For AM: The stereo is equipped with a built-in aerial. The telescopic aerial is not used for
AM reception. Direct the aerial by positioning the entire stereo.

Playing a CD
The player is capable of playing both CD and CD-Rs.
1. Open the CD compartment by pressing OPEN (18).
2. Insert a CD or CD-R and close the door by pushing down on the CLOSE marking.
3. Set the function selector (7) to CD. After a moment the total number of tracks will be
shown in the display and playback will begin.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE (21) to pause playback. Press again to continue playback.
5. Press STOP (20) to stop playback.
N.B.
The CD player will stop even when:
- The CD door is opened.
- Choosing RADIO or USB as the sound source.
- The entire CD has been played.
Selecting a different track
You can use SKIP UP (25) and SKIP DN (23) during playback to select a specic track.
If a track has been selected whilst in the stop or pause mode, playback can be restarted by
pressing PLAY/PAUSE.
• Press SKIP UP (25) once to jump to the next track, or press it repeatedly until the
desired track number is reached.
• Press SKIP DN (23) to return to the beginning of the current track. Press more than once
to return to previous tracks.
Fast search
1. Press and hold SKIP UP (25) or SKIP DN (23). The CD should now begin high speed
playback at low volume.
2. Release the button when you nd the desired section. Normal playback should now
resume.

Playing MP3 les
Playing a CD containing MP3 les
1. Place a CD containing MP3 les in the CD compartment.
2. Select the CD mode using the function selector.
3. After a moment the total number of tracks will be displayed and playback will
automatically begin with the rst track.
4. Select the desired track with SKIP UP (25) or SKIP DN (23).
Playing MP3 les from USB memory or a SD/MMC card.
1. Connect either a USB memory (2) or a SD/MMC card (4).
2. Select USB using the function selector.
3. If you have connected both a USB and memory card simultaneously:
- The memory card will be chosen rst.
- Press USB/CARD (16) to change between the USB and memory card.
4. After a moment the total number of tracks will be displayed and playback will
automatically begin with the rst track.
5. Select the desired track with SKIP UP (25) or SKIP DN (23).
Choosing the next album/folder
1. Press and hold +10/ALBUM (22). The current album-/folder number will begin ashing
on the display.
2. Select the desired album/folder with SKIP UP (25) or SKIP DN (23).
3. Conrm and start playback by pressing PLAY/PAUSE.
Listening with headphones
N.B. Prolong expose to high volume can damage your hearing.
Using the remote control
The remote control can be used within a 45° are from the IR sensor (5) and up to 5 m from
the player. Point the remote directly at the player during use.

Advanced Use
Programmed playback (CD/MP3)
You can store up to 20 tracks in any order. You can also store the same track more than once.
1. In stop mode, press EQ/PROG once (24). The display shows PROG and P-01 while 000
ashes simultaneously.
2. Select the desired track with SKIP UP (25) or SKIP DN (23). When the track you want
to programme is displayed press EQ/PROG once to store the track.
3. If several tracks are to be programmed, repeat steps 1 and 2 to programme tracks
P02 – P20.
4. When the programming has been completed, press PLAY/PAUSE to start playback.
Deleting programmed tracks
You can erase the programme by:
- Pressing STOP whilst in stop mode.
- Selecting RADIO or USB.
- Pressing STOP during playback or when the player is in stop mode.
Programmed playback (USB & SD/MMC)
In USB/SD/MMC mode you can programme up to 64 tracks in any order as opposed
to CD mode.
1. In stop mode, press EQ/PROG once. (24). The display shows PROG USB/CARD and
P-01 while 000 ashes simultaneously.
2. Select the desired track with SKIP UP (25), SKIP DN (23) and +10/ALBUM (22). When
the track you want to programme is displayed press EQ/PROG once to store the track.
3. If several tracks are to be programmed, repeat steps 1 and 2 to programme tracks
P02 – P64.
4. When programming has been completed, press PLAY/PAUSE to start playback.
Deleting programmed tracks
You can erase the programme by:
- Pressing STOP whilst in stop mode.
- Selecting RADIO or TAPE.
- Pressing STOP during playback or when the player is in stop mode.
Repeated playback (CD/MP3)
Press MODE (13) once or several times to activate the repeat function. The symbols display
the chosen repeat function:
Repetition of a track
DIR Repetition of an album/folder
ALL Repetition of entire disc

Random playback (CD/MP3)
• Press MODE (13) once or several times to activate the random function. RAN is
displayed when the function is activated.
• Press MODE again or STOP to turn off random playback.
Intro (playing the beginning of a track, CD/MP3)
To save time searching for a track the rst 10 seconds are played of each track.
Press MODE (13) once or several times to activate the intro function. INTRO is displayed
when the function is activated.
Pre-programmed equalizer settings (CD/MP3)
Press EQ/PROG (24) repeatedly during playback to select equalizer settings. The display
shows the chosen equalizer setting (DBB, POP, CLASSIC, JAZZ, ROCK or NORMAL).
Care and Maintenance
General Care
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the player. Do not use cleaning liquids which contain alcohol,
ammonia, benzene or abrasives as it can damage the casing.
CD and CD player maintenance
• The CD player’s lens must not be touched!
• Sudden changes in the surrounding temperature can cause condensation
and the lens can become covered in moisture. It is then impossible to play
a CD.
• Do not try to wipe the lens. Instead, let the device stand in a warm room
until the moisture has evaporated.
• Always close the CD door to keep the CD compartment free from dust. Use
a soft, dry cloth to remove the dust from the CD compartment if it is needed.
• If the CD needs to be cleaned it can be cleaned with a soft, lint-free cloth
wiping from the centre out towards the edge in a straight line. Do not use
cleaning liquids as it can damage the CD.
• Never attach stickers to the CD.
• Never store the player near heat sources or expose it to direct heat.
Disposal
Follow local ordinances when disposing of this product. If you are unsure how to dispose of
the product, please contact your municipality.
