Please read theentire instruction manual before use and save it for future
reference. We reserve theright for any errors in text or images and for making
any necessary technical changes to this document. If you should have any
questions concerning technical problems please contact our Customer
Services.
1. Safety
• Unplug theadaptor before cleaning. Wipe theproduct with alightly
moistened cloth when required; never use solvents or strong detergents.
• Do not place product where it can fall into water or other liquids.
Do not place any objects containing liquid on top of product, e.g.
flower vase or drink.
• Place theproduct on asmooth surface where there is little risk of it falling.
Protect it against unwanted shocks or blows.
• Only use theincluded adaptor (5V, 2A, + centre pin).
• Make sure thelead from theadaptor is not damaged in any way.
• The adaptor may not be used if any part is damaged, it should either
be discarded or repaired by aqualified repairman.
• The wireless print server and adaptor must not be disassembled or
modified in any way.
• The print server may not be used if any part is damaged, it should
either be discarded or repaired by aqualified repairman.

A. Status and Error
Status (Green) Error (Red) Display

B. Diagnostics
The diagnostic button has two different functions:
Restoring thefactory settings
1. Turning off theprint server (unplug theDC plug).
2. Push and hold in thebutton with apointy object e.g. theend of apaper clip
in thehole marked [DIAG].
3. Power on theprint server while at thesame time holding in the[DIAG] button.
A test page showing thecurrent settings (factory settings) is printed out.

Print atest page
1. Turn on theprint server (connect theDC plug) and make sure that
theprinter is ready for printing.
2. Push and hold in thebutton for 2 sec. with apointy object e.g. theend
of apaper clip in thehole marked [DIAG].
3. A test page is printed showing thecurrent settings.
N.B. PostScript-printers are not able to print thetest page. No page will be
printed if you have such aprinter.
C. USB connection
Connection for theprinter cable.
D. LAN connection
Connection for CAT -5 cable to theAccess Point, used during basic setup.
E. Power
Connection for theadaptor’s DC plug.
4. Setup
The wireless print server supports avariety of operating systems and can
be setup differently accordingly:
• The wireless print server normally needs to be configured, however if your
network has aDHCP server you merely need to connect it to thenetwork
(Plug-and-play). On theincluded CD you will find instructions on this.
• The PC which will be connected to theprint server must always
be configured.
4.1 Using theguide
The guide which is found on theCD is designed for Windows XP and Vista.
This is therecommended method for configuration. The guide can be used
to configure thewireless print server for your network, even if theprint server
does not have avalid IP address.

4.2 Preparations
• Do not connect theadaptor. Make sure that it is not connected to
the mains.
• Find the name of the print server which is printed on a label on the bottom
of the device. It consists of 8 letters and/or numbers.
You will need this information during configuration.
• Check thewireless and IP settings for theAccess Point you are
connecting your PC to.
4.3 Begin configuration
1. Insert thesupplied CD into computer’s CD-ROM. The program will start
automatically (if not, start it manually by double-clicking on Autorun.exe
intheroot folder on theCD.
2. Click on Setup Wizard.
N.B. Choose Setup Wizard to first configure thewireless print server, which
is not yet connected to thenetwork. Or you may click on theSetup Wizard
when thewireless configuration needs to be changed.
PC Install is used mainly for adding other users, who’s PCs’, are already
connected to thewireless network.

3. Click on OK and follow these installation instructions step-by-step:
(a). Connect theprinter to
thewireless print server.
(b). Use aCAT-5 cable to
connect both thePC
and print server to
arouter or hub.
(c). Start theprinter.

(d). Turn on theprint server
(connecting theadaptor
to themains and
connecting theDC plug
to theprint server).
(e). Make sure that theLEDs
show (Status, Error).
Status (green) should
light and Error (red)
should be off. The printer
is off or disconnected if
theError light (red) is lit.
Continue by clicking Yes if both theStatus and Error lights are off.
N.B. It can take up to 30 sec. before theError light disappears.
N.B.
• In order to use theLAN interface it must be connected with aCAT-5 cable
BEFORE theprint server is turned on.
• The LAN interface (including cable) must be used during basic setup.
• The wireless connection will shut off if theprint server is not connected to
theLAN (including cable) when theprint server is turned on.
• In thewireless infrastructure mode thewireless interface will turn off
if aCAT-5 cable is connected.
If theabove is already done you can click Skip.

4. Choose your wireless print
server and then
click Next to continue.

is not on thelist.

not on thelist you have to
choose Manual Setting
and click Next to go on
to theSecurity Setting.

A: Network Type:
Select Infrastructure if you are connecting to an existing network.
Select AD-Hoc for aPeer-to-Peer (P2P) connection.
B: SSID
All wireless devices must use thesame SSID (network name) in order
to communicate.
C: Channel (in Ad-Hoc mode) chooses adesired value.
D: Security:
There are 4 different settings for Wireless security.
• Disable (off) No encryption.
• WEP with 802.11b standard. Data encryption before transmitting, but
simplistic encryption. 10 respective 26 letter keys are required for 64 bit or
128 bit WEP encryption.
• WPA-PSK Data is encrypted with Wi-Fi protected access, and is much
safer than WEP. Two methods are possible: TKIP and AES, PSK must be
between 8 and 63 characters.
• WPA2 This is afurther development of WPA-PSK, and gives an even
higher degree of security, PSK must be between 8 and 63 characters.
8. Click Next to continue to theIP settings.
• Mark Obtain IP Address automatically if thenetwork has aDHCP Server,
otherwise you must choose Use following IP address.
• If you mark Use following IP address then you must enter an IP number
that is available on thenetwork.
• Use thesame settings for theSubnet Mask and Default Gateway as
used for thecomputers on thenetwork.
9. Click Next to come to
thenext dialogue box.
