Special safety regulations for log splitters
• Retain themanual and ensure that it goes with themachine when lent out etc.
• Read thewarning labels on themachine and make sure they are legible.
• Ensure that thesocket has thecorrect voltage before connecting thelog splitter (230 V).
• Never try to change thepressure settings. It is set at thefactory to exert amaximum pressure of 4 tonnes.
Incorrect setting may lead to serious personal injury, impaired function or machine damage.
• Use safety goggles, ear protectors and safety boots when necessary.
• Always stand so that you can carry out all working operations with good balance and hold theswitch and
pressure lever with both hands.
• Keep hands and fingers at asafe distance from thepressure plate and cleaving wedge. As always when
working with machines, use common sense and be careful.
• Ensure that people and animals are not around themachine as sharp wood chips my shoot out with
great force.
• Always disconnect theplug from thesocket before servicing and when not in use and make sure that
children cannot start thelog splitter.
• Just to be sure, connect thelog splitter to asocket via anearth fault breaker.
• Never use thelog splitter in therain or in extreme humidity.
• Never use themachine if thepower cable or other parts are damaged. Defective part must be replaced
by anexpert.
• Keep theworking space clean and make sure that theelectric motor cooling is not hindered by rubbish
covering thecooling flange or thecooling air intake.
• Note! Unscrew theair screw (13) 3–4 revolutions, so that anoticeable air current can be felt during usage.
Otherwise theseals in thehydraulic system may be damaged and make thelog splitter unfit for use.
• Before use, ensure that thepush rod nuts are fastened as thelog splitter might be damaged otherwise.
Product markings and safety symbols on the machine
Warning! Risk of injury from moving parts. Beware. Keep hands away from moving parts during
the entire cleaving process.
Warning! Risk of injury from moving parts when removing ajammed log. Do not remove it with your
hands - use atool.
Warning! Risk of injury from moving parts. Always be aware of how thepressure plate moves.
It is forbidden for anyone but themachine operator to be within theworking area of themachine.
Keep children, pets and unauthorized personnel out of theworking area of themachine.
Switch off themachine and disconnect theplug from thesocket when not using themachine,
before cleaning and service.
Consider theenvironment, take care of waste oil according to local environment regulations.
Ensure that themachine is not damaged before use. Check again that thepower cord is undamaged,
if there are any loose screws/nuts and if theoperating levers work well.
Read themanual!
Read theentire manual and try to understand themachine’s work cycle.
Use safety goggles!
Protect your eyes against shooting wood chips. Use safety goggles or avisor.
Use gloves!
Use safety boots!
Use safety boots with steel toe caps which protect against falling objects.
