5. Do not smoke while refuelling or using thegrass trimmer.
6. Follow all fire safety regulations. It is theuser’s responsibility to inform themselves
of all local and national fire safety regulations.
7. Always hold thegrass trimmer’s handles with afirm grip once started, with your fingers
gripping one side and your thumbs gripping theopposing side of thehandles.
8. Do not touch thetrimmer line whilst it is rotating.
9. Keep all body parts and clothing away from thetrimmer line when theengine is running.
Make sure that thetrimmer line is not in contact with any object before starting.
10. Only transport thetrimmer with theengine switched off.
11. Always inspect thegrass trimmer before starting, do not start it if there are worn,
damaged or missing parts. Never use thebrush cutter/grass trimmer if it is
damaged, incorrectly adjusted or incorrectly assembled.
12. All service other than that mentioned in this instruction manual should be carried
out by qualified personnel.
13. Always turn off thegrass trimmer whenever setting it onto theground or during transport.
14. Be extra vigilant when cutting small bushes or thick grass, as these can get stuck
in thetrimmer head.
15. Keep thehandles clean, dry and free from oil and fuel.
16. Only use thetrimmer outdoors or in well ventilated areas. Never start thetrimmer
in closed rooms or buildings. Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide and are
dangerous to inhale.
17. Avoid moving thetrimmer head close to small objects which can be violently propelled
outwards. Check that there are no small stones, glass shards, etc. in thetrim area
before starting work.
18. Always stand below thelevel of thetrimmer if you are using it on aslope.
NEVER use thetrimmer on aslope if there is theslightest risk of you losing your
footing, falling or sliding. Always keep hold of both handles.
19. Keep thegrass trimmer free from grass cuttings and other deposits, particularly
theguard, trimmer head and engine.
20. Only use two-stroke engine fuel with amixture of 3% good quality two-stroke oil
(32:1) intended for air-cooled two-stroke engines. Using petrol without oil mixed in
will cause engine damage that is not covered by theguarantee.
21. Do not use thegrass trimmer without thesilencer and silencer cover.
22. Hold both handles of thegrass trimmer firmly, with your fingers on one side of each
handle and thumb on theother.
23. The silencer can become very hot, do not touch it with your hands or other parts
of your body.
24. The trimmer head must not be raised during use as it can injure theoperator.
Work as close to theground as possible.
25. The grass trimmer must not be used for any other purpose than for clearing
undergrowth, trimming lawns and garden work.
