Introduction
The Sony 400 Disc MegaChanger lets you organize and
play 400 Blu-ray DiscTM movies, DVDs, and CDs from a
single disc changer. Features include scan and auto-scan
on Control4 systems.
Installation
CAUTION! Before you install this device, refer to the im-
portant safety instructions in the Home Controller and Sony
documentation.
Carefully unpack the contents from the box, and make sure
the following items are included:
• Sony BDP-CX7000ES 400 Disc MegaChanger
• Sony Instruction Manual
• Sony Warranty Reference Card
• Sony Remote Control
• AV Cable
• AA Battery (2)
If any of these items is missing or damaged, please contact
Sony Corporation immediately.
Other accessories are:
• Serial null-modem cable with DB9 female ends (6 foot)

If any of these items are missing or damaged, please con-
tact your Control4® Reseller immediately.
IMPORTANT: Before you plug in the serial cable, follow
Sony’s instructions to enable the serial port using Sony’s
remote.
1. Follow the instructions provided in the Sony 400 Disc
MegaChanger instruction manual to connect the de-
vice to your A/V equipment.
2. Use the provided serial null-modem cable to connect
the Sony 400 Disc MegaChanger to an available se-
rial port on the Control4 Controller (see gure below).
3. Add and Congure the Sony 400 Disc MegaChanger
to the Control4 System. Use the Composer Pro (Pro-
fessional Edition) software to add and congure the
Sony 400 Disc MegaChanger in the Control4 system.
If the driver is not in your Local Database under “Disc
Changer” > “Sony BDP-CX7000ES Disc Changer,” go
to the Online Database and search for it there.
Serial Null-Modem Cable with DB9 Female Ends
Scan Media
1. Use the Composer software (Pro, Media Edition, or
Home Edition) to scan Blu-ray, DVD, or CD media in
the Sony 400 Disc MegaChanger.
2. Scan. After you congure the unit in the Control4
system, you can scan to identify the Blu-ray discs,
DVDs or CDs that are in the Disc MegaChanger. Use
the Composer Media view, highlight Disc Changer,
and then click the Scan button. This automatically
updates the On-Screen and Touch Screen Naviga-
tors to provide Cover Art for viewing and navigation of
your Blu-ray, DVD, or CD content.
3. Auto-scan. When auto-scan is enabled in the driver
(refer to the driver’s “Documentation” tab in Com-
poser for details), slip a new disc into an empty slot of
the Disc MegaChanger. The disc changer automati-
cally scans and identies it to the Control4 system.
After auto-scan, the Touch Screens and On-Screen Navi-
gators are updated automatically, and will display devices
to provide Cover Art information for easy navigation of
movies and music.

Install Multiple Sony 400 Disc MegaChangers
in a Control4 System
When installing multiple Sony 400 Disc MegaChangers
in a Control4 system, follow these guidelines:
1. Set up multiple Disc MegaChangers as supported by
the Control4 Controller. Home Controllers support up
to four (4) disc changers, depending on the model.
2. Use the provided serial cable and installation instruc-
tions to connect the Sony 400 Disc MegaChanger
directly to an available Home Controller serial port.
3. Each Sony 400 Disc MegaChanger must be con-
nected directly to the Control4 Controller. No daisy
chain connections are supported.
4. If using a Sony Controller product that controls mul-
tiple Sony 400 Disc MegaChangers or other Sony
equipment, connect the Sony Controller product
directly to the Control4 Controller. Connect the other
disc changers as directed in the Sony installation
instructions.
