6. HOW TO OPERATE THE BRICKSAW
CONNECTING WATER
1. Attach water hose to rear of the bricksaw.
2. Check water flow at regular intervals in case mains supply has been interrupted and tray
is not choked with sediment.
SLIDING TRAY
1. The sliding tray should be aligned on both rails and should be able to move freely.
BLADES AND BLADE SETTING
1. Ensure the blade is fitted in the correct direction.
2. The blade should be mounted solidly and firmly to prevent pounding which can seriously
damage blade.
3. Always check blade depth before commencing work so that sliding tray does not come
into contact with blade.
4. Blade cutting height can be set by locking hand knob onto arm fitted to left side of
machine. Release and lock the hand knob for blade height.
5. Keep wet cutting diamond blades cool whilst cutting.
6. Check the blade on regular basis for fissures, it is free of stress cracks, is not warped or
lost any diamond segments and does not show signs of excessive wear.
7. IMPORTANT! – Keep an adequate flow of water on both sides of blade. A blade that is
allowed to become dry even for a short time may become damaged or ruined. Too little
water is evident when steam is seen rising from cutting area.
8. Diamond blades are easily damaged, so ensure they are adequately protected if being
transported.
9. If in doubt, contact CROMMELINS Machinery for correct selection of diamond blades.
TO OPERATE THE MACHINE
1. Do not use heavy duty extension cords longer than 20m in length.
2. Before turning on machine, material to be cut should rest securely on table up against
fence or adjustable work guide away from diamond blade
3. Water supply should be connected (See section on connecting water on page 5).
4. Switch on electric motor by turning button on the motor to ‘ON’. Single-phase motor has
a thermal overload protection device located under switch. In the event that motor
stops, turn machine to ‘OFF’ position, try to rectify problem, allow motor to cool and
then press re-set button. If motor does not restart, check power supply, fuses/circuit
breakers and leads.
5. Push the sliding tray with cutting piece gently towards the blade. Do not use excessive
force.
6. To prevent freshly cut material binding and fouling the blade, remove material after the
cut is completed.
