WARRANTY INFORMATION
Warranty Terms
1. Defender products are guaranteed for a period of one year from the
date of purchase against defects in workmanship and materials.
This warranty is limited to the repair, replacement or refund of the
purchase price at Defender’s option.
2. This warranty becomes void if the product shows evidence of having
beenmisused,mishandledor tamperedwithcontrarytotheapplicable
instruction manual.
3. Routine cleaning, normal cosmetic and mechanical wear and tear are
not covered under the terms of this warranty.
4. The warranty expressly provided for herein is the sole warranty
provided in connection with the product itself and no other warranty,
expressed or implied is provided. Defender assumes no responsibilities
for any other claims not specically mentioned in this warranty.
5. This warranty does not cover shipping costs, insurance, or any other
incidental charges.
6. You MUST call Defender before sending any product back for repair.You
will be sent a Return Authorization number with return instructions.
When returning the product for warranty service, please pack it
carefully in the original box with all supplied accessories, and enclose
your original receipt or copy, and a brief explanation of the problem
(include RA #).
7. This warranty is valid only in Canada and the continental U.S.
8. This warranty cannot be re-issued.

OPERATION
Switch from Photo to Video Mode
Use the small switch located next to the USB to switch the pen mode.
1. Move the switch to the left to change to video mode.
2. Move the switch to the right to change to photo mode.
Powering On the Pen DVR
Press and hold the power button on the top of the pen for three seconds.
Photo Mode The yellow indicator light will blink, the pen is in photo
standby mode.
Video Mode The yellow indicator light will stay on, the pen is in video
standby mode.
Taking Pictures/Shooting Video
Press the power button on the top of the pen once.
Photo Mode The indicator light will turn blue for several seconds while
the photo saves, do not attempt to take another picture
until the light turns yellow again.
Video Mode The indicator light will turn blue, the system will
automatically save the le every 30 minutes and then
continue recording
Stopping Video
Press the power button on the top of the pen once to stop shooting video,
the indicator light will turn yellow while the video is being saved.

Turning the Pen O
Press and hold the power button for ve seconds in standby mode, the
indicator light will turn o when the pen has powered o.
Connecting to a PC Computer
In standby or OFF mode you can connect the device to a computer.
1. Plug the USB connector directly into the USB jack on your computer.
2. The computer will automatically recognize the device, and a
"removable hardware" pop-up window will appear.
3. The device will appear in the "My Computer" folder on your computer
under X:\VIDEO, (X represents the storage drive name your computer
assigns automatically) from here you can access the photos and videos.
4. To remove the device safely, right click on the "Safely Remove
Hardware" icon on the bottom of the computer screen, click to stop the
"USB mass storage device" and unplug the USB. Or you can also right
click on the drive name and select the "Eject" option.

Connecting to a MAC Computer
In standby or OFF mode you can connect the device to a computer.
1. Plug the USB connector directly into the USB jack on your computer.
2. The computer will automatically recognize the device, and a folder will
appear on your desktop called "No Name".
3. Click on the "No Name" drive icon, from here you can access the photos
and videos.
Note: According to the computer system conguration, there will be a slight
dierence in wait times of the computer recognizing the Pen DVR, please
be patient and do not press buttons on the pen DVR while the computer
is working. If the computer does not recognize the pen DVR after several
minutes, remove the device, and reconnect. If the computer still does not
recognize the device, restart the computer and check that your system falls
under the CPU requirements for the pen DVR in the specications.
