Introduction
DB3 is an all-in-one door lock and override module. This guide supports the installation of a DB3 in Remote
Start Ready (RSR) mode. This solution may offer up to three (3) configuration options to control your system: 3x
OEM Lock Remote Start Activation (if applicable, refer to the “Vehicle function compatibilities” below), RF System
or SmartStart (all sold separately).

This module can only be flashed and configured using DirectLink at www.directechs.com or using the Directechs
Mobile application for smartphones. Refer to “Connecting the module” for more information.

START HERE This section highlights important information for this specific firmware and will assist in pricing accordingly, as
well as bringing awareness to any operational or vehicle limitations.

Firmware notes
OEM Touch Screen: The Comfort Convenience Controls, Heated Seats Activation feature and Rear Window Defogger Activation
feature, will only function if the vehicle is equipped with OEM touchscreen radio package.
Remote Start features: The following remote start features can be configured via the information display:
• All Locks (must also set during module flashing)
• Driver Priority Locks (must also set during module flashing)
Remote Start Ready (RSR) installations are not compatible with vehicles equipped with a manual transmission.
Remote Start Ready (RSR) is a function that enables the interface module to remote start the vehicle completely on its own.
Consequently, there is no need for an aftermarket or an OEM remote starter in order to start the vehicle from a distance.
The optional Plug & Play THCHD3 Rev. 2 T-Harnesses are sold separately
SmartStart Compatible: SmartStart is equipped with D2D, which means it can be connected to an interface module and used in
Remote Start Ready (RSR) mode without the use of a remote starter. See "Module programming" for more information.
Unless specified otherwise, all connectors are displayed from the wire side, with the exception of the OBDII diagnostic connector.
Refer to the "Vehicle connections" following the installation diagram.
