4 / 10
Figure3: Connectors and DIP switch locations
Allure EC-Smart-Air Sensor with a CO2 Sensor
The Allure EC-Smart-Air Series sensors equipped with a CO2 sensor are factory-calibrated to accurately read the CO2 concentration levels at sea level.
When these sensors are used in locations where the elevation is greater than 150 m (500 ft) above sea level, you need to set the Elevation input of the
sensor block in EC-
gfx
Program to the current location’s elevation to obtain the most accurate readings.
For more information, refer to the sensor block section in the EC-
gfx
Program User Guide.
Under normal conditions, an Allure EC-Smart-Air sensor with CO2 sensor will reach its operational accuracy after 24 hours of
continuous operation provided that it was exposed to ambient air reference levels of 400 ppm ±10 ppm CO2.
The sensor will maintain accuracy specifications using the automatic self-calibration, assuming that it is exposed to the
atmospheric CO2 concentration of 400ppm for at least 15 minutes per 7-day period, which is typically seen during unoccupied
periods.
Supported Quantity
The Allure EC-Smart-Air sensor connects to the controller’s Subnet Port. Other devices may also be connected to this port in a daisy-chained fashion
(see the controller’s datasheet for compatibility information and supported quantities).
Each controller supports a specific maximum number of Allure EC-Smart-Air sensors. The Subnet ID of all Allure EC-Smart-Air sensors must be set
within the indicated addressing range.
The Allure EC-Smart-Comfort Series and Allure EC-Smart-Air Series sensors share the same Subnet ID range: the same address
CANNOT be concurrently assigned to an Allure EC-Smart-Comfort Series sensor AND to an Allure EC-Smart-Air Series sensor.

Table1:
Maximum Number of Room Devices by Controller Model, and Allowed Addressing Range
Adding devices to the subnetwork decreases the system responsiveness. This may cause a certain delay, which could be an issue for
commands that require fast response, such as lighting and shades/sunblind commands.
The indicated addressing ranges are specific to each group of devices.
4 different Subnet ID codifications are used on the ECx Subnetwork :
£1 for Allure EC-Smart-Vue Series sensors
£1 for Allure EC-Smart-Comfort and Allure EC-Smart-Air sensors
£1 for EC-Multi-Sensors
£1 for ECx-Light/Blind Series expansion modules
Consequently, an Allure EC-Smart-Vue sensor and an Allure EC-Smart-Air sensor may share the same Subnet ID, but an Allure EC-
Smart-Air sensor and an Allure EC-Smart-Comfort sensor must have a different Subnet ID.
A controller can support a maximum of two (2) Allure Communicating Sensor models equipped with a CO2 sensor. Any remaining
connected Allure Communicating Sensor models must be without a CO2 sensor.
About the Subnetwork Bus
The controllers use the subnetwork bus to communicate with the room devices (see each controller’s datasheet for compatibility), including with the Al-
lure EC-Smart-Air sensors, by using standard structural (Cat 5e) cabling and by connecting the devices in a daisy-chained fashion to the controller’s
Subnet Port. For more information, please refer to the table in the --- MISSING LINK --- section of this document.
The maximum length of the Communicating Sensor subnetwork bus is 600 ft (180 m).

6 / 10
Figure4: Subnetwork Bus Overview
A controller can support up to two (2) room devices that are equipped with a CO2 sensor, i.e. the remaining connected devices must be without a CO2
sensor. To find out the number of room devices that a given controller model can support, please refer to the table in the --- MISSING LINK --- section of
this document.
To ensure proper operation, it is recommended to distribute the sensors as evenly as possible throughout the length of the subnetwork.
Figure5: Subnetwork Length and Distribution

7 / 10
For ECB/ECL-PTU Series controllers, the maximum length between two consecutive devices on the sub-network bus is 100 ft (30 m).
Subnetwork Bus Topology and EOL Terminations
Only a daisy-chain topology is acceptable for the room device subnetwork bus. T-connections are not allowed.
For controllers other than ECB-600 or ECL-600, only the EOL terminations of the last subnetwork bus device must be set to ON.
All other subnetwork bus devices must have their EOL terminations set to OFF.
The controller must be the first device on the Cat 5e Cable Subnetwork bus, because its internal EOL termination is permanently enabled.
The maximum number of room devices that a given controller model can support is indicated in the table of section Supported
Quantity [pg.4].
