USING THE UNIT
CHANGING THE DUST BAG
Pull out the power cord to the required length and insert the plug into a suitable wall socket.
The yellow marking on the cord indicates a cable length usually sufficient for vacuuming. The red
marking indicates that the power cord has been pulled out to its maximum length. Once the red
marking is visible, do not pull any further.
To rewind the power cord, press the Cord Rewind Button (1). Warning: The cord moves rapidly
when rewinding. Provide a clear path and lead the cord through your hand when rewinding to
prevent personal injury.
Use the On/Off switch (2) on the main unit to switch on the appliance. When switching the unit
on, the electronic power control switch (10) should be set to the minimum setting as per indicator.
Adjust the Electronic Suction Control (10) to decrease/increase suction.
Low suction power is suitable for curtains etc.
Medium power is suitable for upholstered furniture etc.
High power is suitable for carpets and hard floors.
The slider on the handle can be used to further decrease suction when vacuuming
delicate fabrics.
Choose appropriate attachment to get desired cleaning effect - The Universal Carpet/Floor
Nozzle (12) is suitable for cleaning carpets and carpeted floors as well as hard floors such as
stone, marble, parquet or synthetic floors.
The floor brush contains a brush portion which can be extended (to a protruding position) by
pressing the foot switch indicated by a brush symbol. This brush is especially suitable for
cleaning smooth floors. To return the brush to its flush position, simply put the switch to the
opposite setting. In the flush position, the floor nozzle is especially suitable for cleaning soft floor
surfaces such as rugs or carpets.
The Integrated Crevice/Brush Tool (12) is especially designed to clean hard-to-reach areas
such as heater elements, corners, crevices or drawers.
When the suction decreases considerably and the Bag Full Indicator (6) shows red in the center of
the window, this will indicate that the bag is full.
1. Detach the hose from the air intake and open the dust
bag compartment by pressing Lid Latch (8) and
pulling upward.
2. Remove old dust bag by carefully grabbing black
plastic dust bag holder and pulling straight up.
Carefully remove the bag by sliding the cardboard
header of the dust bag out of the black plastic holder.
3. Place new, unused dust bag in unit with notch facing
into the holder. Slide holder & dust bag assembly
back into guides at front of dust bag compartment.

REPLACING THE FILTERS
INSTALLING SHOULDER STRAP
To avoid damaging the cleaner, do not use it without a dust bag. A safety device is fitted which
prevents the cover closing without a dust bag. Do not attempt to force cover shut.
If after having changed the bag the suction is still irregular and the bag full indicator stays red,
check that there is no blockage in the hose, tube or air intake, and that the bag is installed
properly.
Never re-use a dust bag. Certain materials can build up and clog the bag and cause it to burst
before it is full.
Before cleaning the vacuum cleaner, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has
cooled down completely.
Never immerse the vacuum cleaner in water. If necessary, the housing may be wiped with a
damp cloth and wiped dry.
Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
There are three filters (15,16 & 17) inside your cleaner. Never use the cleaner without the filters
in place.
All filters should be cleaned when dirty. Remove the filter and clean it thoroughly with lukewarm
water. Allow the filter to dry completely before replacing it.
WARNING: Do not operate the vacuum without properly installed filters and dust bag.
Roll up the cord completely.
This appliance can be easily stored either upright or horizontally. When upright insert the tube
clip (5) into the storage slot on the underside of the unit. When horizontal, insert tube clip in slot
at the base of the handle.
The crevice tool and small brush can be attached to the
back of the machine below the filter compartment.
This unit is supplied with a shoulder strap to make the unit
more portable.
Turn unit over or put in horizontal position. Take tabs on
shoulder strap and insert into slots on underside of
vacuum, making sure they are firmly seated.
Unit is now ready to be carried over shoulder for greater
portability.
