WARNINGS
• The battery harger is designed to harge lead a id batteries. Do not use it for other purposes. Do not harge
disposable batteries. Do not harge frozen batteries.
• This applian e must not be used by in apable persons (in luding hildren) without supervision.
• Keep out of the rea h of hildren. This applian e is not a toy and must not be used as su h.
• Always wear prote tive goggles and keep your fa e away from the battery while onne ting and dis onne ting it.
• Explosive gas ould be let-off while the battery is harging, therefore prevent the formation of sparks or flames and
do not smoke.
• Charge the battery in well-aired and dry pla es. Do not expose to rain or snow.
• Make sure the battery harger is dis onne ted from the mains before onne ting or dis onne ting the harge leads
to/from the battery.
• Never put the battery harger on top of the battery while harging it.
• The liquid inside the batteries is orrosive. In the ase of a idental onta t of this a id with skin or eyes, rinse
abundantly with water and seek medi al assistan e.
• Improper use of the battery harger or tampering with its built-in ele troni ir uit provides grounds to invalidate the
warranty.
• If the power supply lead of the applian e is damaged, have it repla ed by authorised te hni ians, be ause its
repla ement requires the use of spe ial tools.
• The applian e shall be repaired or servi ed ex lusively by qualified personnel.
• Only use the battery harger after reading the instru tion manual arefully.
CHARGING
Charging batteries connected to the vehic e
1. Before you start to harge the battery, make sure the power supply lead is NOT plugged into the mains.
2. Lo ate the vehi le’s earth pole, whi h is generally onne ted to the negative terminal.
3. Charging a battery with negative terminal grounded to the vehi le’s hassis.
• Conne t the output lead with red lamp to the positive terminal (+) of the battery.
• Conne t the output lead with bla k lamp to the vehi le’s earthing, keeping it away from the battery and from the
fuel pipe.
4. Charging a battery with positive terminal grounded to the vehi le’s hassis.
• Conne t the output lead with bla k lamp to the negative terminal (-) of the battery.
• Conne t the output lead with red lamp to the vehi le’s earthing, keeping it away from the battery and the fuel pipe.
Charging batteries that are not connected to a vehic e
1. Before you start to harge the battery, make sure the power supply lead is NOT plugged into the mains.
2. Conne t the output lead with red lamp to the positive terminal (+) of the battery.
3. Conne t the output lead with bla k lamp to the negative terminal (-) of the battery.
ATTENTION Make sure both lamps of the output leads generate a suitable onta t with their orresponding
terminals.
HOW TO USE THE BATTERY CHARGER
1. With the battery harger in “stand-by” mode “0”, set the harging parameters suitable for the type of battery to be
harged using the keys on the ontrol panel.
Settable harging parameters:
• Battery Vo tage key: based on the voltage of the battery, sele t: 12Volt or 24Volt.
• Veich e Type key: based on the apa ity of the battery end vehi le type: MIN -MAX, CAR-VAN/TRUCK.
• Function Type key: Automati : for automati harging pro ess. Manual enable automati fun tion. Following the
AUTOMATIC CHARGE FUNCTION instru tions and MANUAL CHARGE FUNCTION instru tions
• Charge/Start Type key: Charge: for harge the vehi le battery, Start: for starting the vehi le
2. On e you have onne ted the output leads to the battery (Set the harger voltage 12V or 24V a ording to the
nominal voltage of the battery being harged, by moving the red able to the appropriate terminal), plug the power
supply lead of the battery harger into the mains, making sure the voltage mat hes the nominal voltage of the battery
