WARNINGS

• The battery harger is designed to harge lead a id batteries. Do not use it for other purposes. Do not harge

disposable batteries. Do not harge frozen batteries.

• This applian e must not be used by in apable persons (in luding hildren) without supervision.

• Keep out of the rea h of hildren. This applian e is not a toy and must not be used as su h.

• Always wear prote tive goggles and keep your fa e away from the battery while onne ting and dis onne ting it.

• Explosive gas ould be let-off while the battery is harging, therefore prevent the formation of sparks or flames and

do not smoke.

• Charge the battery in well-aired and dry pla es. Do not expose to rain or snow.

• Make sure the battery harger is dis onne ted from the mains before onne ting or dis onne ting the harge leads

to/from the battery.

• Never put the battery harger on top of the battery while harging it.

• The liquid inside the batteries is orrosive. In the ase of a idental onta t of this a id with skin or eyes, rinse

abundantly with water and seek medi al assistan e.

• Improper use of the battery harger or tampering with its built-in ele troni ir uit provides grounds to invalidate the

warranty.

• If the power supply lead of the applian e is damaged, have it repla ed by authorised te hni ians, be ause its

repla ement requires the use of spe ial tools.

• The applian e shall be repaired or servi ed ex lusively by qualified personnel.

• Only use the battery harger after reading the instru tion manual arefully.

CHARGING

Charging batteries connected to the vehic e

1. Before you start to harge the battery, make sure the power supply lead is NOT plugged into the mains.

2. Lo ate the vehi le’s earth pole, whi h is generally onne ted to the negative terminal.

3. Charging a battery with negative terminal grounded to the vehi le’s hassis.

• Conne t the output lead with red lamp to the positive terminal (+) of the battery.

• Conne t the output lead with bla k lamp to the vehi le’s earthing, keeping it away from the battery and from the

fuel pipe.

4. Charging a battery with positive terminal grounded to the vehi le’s hassis.

• Conne t the output lead with bla k lamp to the negative terminal (-) of the battery.

• Conne t the output lead with red lamp to the vehi le’s earthing, keeping it away from the battery and the fuel pipe.

Charging batteries that are not connected to a vehic e

1. Before you start to harge the battery, make sure the power supply lead is NOT plugged into the mains.

2. Conne t the output lead with red lamp to the positive terminal (+) of the battery.

3. Conne t the output lead with bla k lamp to the negative terminal (-) of the battery.

ATTENTION Make sure both lamps of the output leads generate a suitable onta t with their orresponding

terminals.

HOW TO USE THE BATTERY CHARGER

1. With the battery harger in “stand-by” mode “0”, set the harging parameters suitable for the type of battery to be

harged using the keys on the ontrol panel.

Settable harging parameters:

• Battery Vo tage key: based on the voltage of the battery, sele t: 12Volt or 24Volt.

• Veich e Type key: based on the apa ity of the battery end vehi le type: MIN -MAX, CAR-VAN/TRUCK.

• Function Type key: Automati : for automati harging pro ess. Manual enable automati fun tion. Following the

AUTOMATIC CHARGE FUNCTION instru tions and MANUAL CHARGE FUNCTION instru tions

• Charge/Start Type key: Charge: for harge the vehi le battery, Start: for starting the vehi le

2. On e you have onne ted the output leads to the battery (Set the harger voltage 12V or 24V a ording to the

nominal voltage of the battery being harged, by moving the red able to the appropriate terminal), plug the power

supply lead of the battery harger into the mains, making sure the voltage mat hes the nominal voltage of the battery

harger (230V-50Hz).

3. When the LEDs light up, it means that the battery is being harged; the display will show the harging urrent.

4. The 30% and 60% LED remains lit in phases “IW” while the battery is harging.

5. When the 100% FULL LED swit hes on, it means that the battery is fully harged (100%) and the battery harger

will swit h to the maintenan e phase (only with Automati key sele ted), keeping the state of effi ien y of the battery

onstantly monitored so that it is always at an optimal level of harge.

6. If you wish to end or interrupt the harging y le, following the end-of- harging instru tions.

AUTOMATIC CHARGE FUNCTION

It is possible to harge buffer, auto and tra tion, free, restrained or gelatinous ele trolyte batteries, so the applian e

is suited for lead Wet, Dry, Agm, Gel batteries without maintenan e.

By means of a mi ropro essor, the automati harge system of this battery harger an he k the battery voltage

parameters.

The he k and the exe ution of harge y le is arried out in two distin t phases: the first one follows the

hara teristi W urve at de reasing urrent, in a ordan e with standard DIN 41774; the se ond phase arries out

a ording to the hara teristi urve Wa at ontrolled and timed voltage and following the maintenan e phase also

at float voltage and timed limit.

This last phase serves to keep onstant the harge level of the battery, avoiding the auto-dis harge of it or the

dis harge due to a onne ted permanent load.

The battery harger has an ele troni prote tion against short- ir uit, polarity inversion and battery voltage wrong

with respe t to the ones of the applian e. If it happens, reset the system.

To reset the battery harger, dis onne t the harge terminals from the battery, turn the swit h 1-0-2 (if present) on 0

and re onne t the battery ables orre tely.

The various harge stages indi ated by led messages are shown in the following illustriations:

MANUAL CHARGE FUNCTION

WARNING! This batterycharger is provided with a switch for a manua or automatic charge.

When the swit h is in manual position the automati harge is disabled.

DO NOT OVERCHARGE! This is not an automati metod of harging. You must frequently monitor the harging

pro ess (Fig. 1-2-3-4) to ensure the battery is not over harged. Over hanging will damage the battery.

START FUNCTION

In battery hargers with the START fun tion, help in starting the vehi le is possible whenever the battery does not

have enough power to turn the starter motor. It is advisable to arry out a fast battery harge before swit hing to the

start the engine..

Follow the work/pause y les given on the applian e. In onditions of degraded battery and ineffi ient vehi le, do not

insist with prolonged starts as this ould affe t the good operation of the battery harger and the elements inside the

battery.

AUTOMATIC START FUNCTION

Pla e the sele tor on START position.

The starter o urs automati ally when the vehi le will be swi hed on.

In ase the vehi le should start the harging, the battery harger will go ba k in a harging maintenan e ondition

(Fig. 4 AUTOMATIC) and it will be possible to swi h off the applian e.

MANUAL START FUNCTION

Pla e the sele tor on START position and use remote ontrol to a tivate START fun tion.

Fo ow the work/pause cyc es given on the app iance. In conditions of degraded battery and inefficient

vehic e, do not insist with pro onged starts as this cou d affect the good operation of the battery charger and

the e ements inside the battery.

END-OF-CHARGING

1. On e the battery is harged, unplug the power supply lead of the battery harger from the mains.

2. Dis onne t the output lead with bla k lamp from the vehi le’s earthing or from the negative terminal (-) of the

battery.

3. Dis onne t the output lead with red lamp from the positive terminal (+) of the battery.

SAFETY DEVICES

This applian e is equipped with prote tion against over harging, short- ir uits between the output lamps and

polarity inversion in the battery lamps.

A) Repla ing the fuse:

• When repla ing the fuse, only use our original repla ement parts. Fig. 8

• Repla ing the fuse with urrent values differing to the original ould ause damage to persons or things, and thus

invalidate the battery harger warranty.

• For the same reasons NEVER restore the prote tion ir uit with bridges in opper or other material.

• Turn the applian e OFF and dis onne t the power supply lead from the mains before arrying out any fuse

repla ement operation.

• A ess to the fuse for its removal or repla ement is only possible with the use of a tool. Fig. 8

B) Heat prote tion:

• Battery hargers are equipped with thermostati over harge prote tion, wait a few minutes for automati resetting

after its intervention.

MAINTENANCE

When the battery harger is not used, it must be stored in a dry pla e to prote t it against humidity. Dis onne t the

applian e and use a soft loth to lean its outer asing.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

1. The manufa turer guarantees the produ t’ s good operation for a period on 12 months from the date of pur hase

given on the re eipt issued by the seller at thetime of sale.

2. The warranty provides for free repair or repla ement of those parts of the applian e the maker a knowledges as

being faulty due to manufa ture or faulty inthe nature of the materials.

3. Any problems aused by arelessness, in orre t use, tampering with the applian e, will invalidate the warranty .

4. Furthermore, the warranty is invalidated whenever the applian e is repaired by unqualified persons or by persons

not authorized by the manufa turer.

5. In orre t onne tion to the power mains, a feed voltage not mat hing the nominal voltage given on the applian e’s

dataplate and variations in line voltage aused by outside agents, lightning or anything else shall invalidate the

warranty .

6. Returns of ma hines, even if under warranty , must be shipped CARIAGE FREE and will be returned CARIAGE

FOR WARD.

7. The warranty ertifi ate is valid only if a ompanied by the re eipt or delivery note.

8. No responsibility an be a epted for dire t or indire t damage of any nature to persons or things subsequent to

use or non-use of the applian e.
