Setting U25
There are two ways how to connect the U25 repeater to your
home router or modem:
• Automated connection using theWPS function (only in
the repeater mode) Figure 1
• Manual setting up of the connection. Requires a pass-
word to connect to the network. Figure 2

U25 contains the function of automated setting
ofthe repeatermode.So youan easilyextendthe
range of your wireless network without any
knowledge of the IT technology.
a. If you have already made U25 changes in the settings,
delete them and reset to factory defaults.
b. PushtheWPS button onyourhome router, toactivatethe
WPS function (WPS icon on your router starts blinking).
Most modern routers have this function. Find a descrip-
tion of this function in the manual to your equipment.
c. Now push the WPS button on the repeater U25 for ca 5
seconds. You need to push the WPS button within one
minutefromtheactivationofthisfunctionin yourrouter.
d.The U25 repeater now automatically connects to the
router via a protected WPS connection. During the
connection the blue diode in U25 will be blinking.
e. Assoon asthe automaticcongurationofthe connection
has been completed (maximum 2 minutes), your
repeaterisreadytouse.U25willtransmit thesame SSID
network name as your router with the sux -ext
f. The password forconnecting clientsto thenewly created
network will be the same as the original password
to your home router.You can disconnect the repeater
fromthepower supplyandmove toadierent location.

After reconnection of U25 to the power supply, the
setting will remain unchanged.
2. Manual setting of the connection to U25
If you want to use other ways to connect U25, you have to
set it via the web interface. Connect to U25 according to the
following instructions.
Examples of connection and operating modes

Access point mode
The Ethernet port works like LAN, U25 is connected to the
home gateway or ADSL modem via a UTP cable. Computers
fromyour homenetwork havewirelessconnectionto U25.IP
addressesare allocatedbythehome gateway, routeror ADSL
modem. In the computer connected to U25 the IP address
can be set by means of DHCP. The factory default SSID of
the wireless network is U25 (can be changed). The default
password for connection to U25 is 123456789.
Uses for this type of connection: hotel, household etc.
Home gateway / router mode
The Ethernet port works like a WAN port and it is directly
connectedtoInternet viaa UTP cable. Computersfromyour
homenetworkhavewireless connectiontoU25.IPaddresses
are allocated to the computers in the inner network by U25
via its own DHCP server from the series 192.168.10.1 –
192.168.10.255. NAT translation of IP addresses is on.
The inner LAN network is isolated form the WAN network.
The default SSID of the wireless network is U25 (can be
changed). The default password for the connection to U25
is 123456789.
Use of this type of connection: hotel, household, oce etc.

WiFi signal repeater / booster mode
The repeater operating mode is used to extend the signal
range of an existing WiFi network from AP or a wireless
router. Computers can be connected to U25 via a cable
or wireless connection. U25 is connected to Internet and
inner network wirelessly. The IP address of DNS is allocated
by the original router or a home gateway. U25 relays all
incoming and outgoing communication unchanged to the
extended network.
Use of this type of connection: bigger houses, villas, trans-
mission among buildings, gardens etc.
WISP repeater mode (repeater with an
integrated router)
The repeater operating mode is used to extend the signal
range of an existing WiFi network from AP or a wireless
router. Computers can be connected to U25 via a cable or
wireless connection. U25 is connected to Internet and inner
network wirelessly. IP addresses are allocated to computers
of the inner network by U25 via its own DHCP server of the
series 192.168.10.1 – 192.168.10.255. NAT translation
of IP addresses is on.
Use of this type of connection: bigger houses, villas, trans-
mission among buildings, gardens etc.

WiFi client mode
In this mode U25 works as a wireless adapter and it can
be used to connect appliances without an integrated WiFi
network card to a WiFi network. PC is connected to U25 via
a solid UTP cable and it has a wireless connection to a home
WiFigatewayorrouter.IPaddressesareallocatedbythe home
gateway, routeror ADSLmodem.In acomputer connectedto
U25 the IP address can be set by means of DHCP. Usually this
mode can be used to connect multimedia appliances such as
Smart TV, older PC, satellite receivers.
Use of this type of connection: IP cameras, older PC, Smart
TV, satellite receivers.
WISP client (client with an integrated router)
In this mode U25 works as a wireless adapter and it can
be used to connect appliances without an integrated WiFi
network card to a WiFi network. PC is connected to U25 via
a solid UTP cable and it has a wireless connection to a home
WiFi gateway or router. IP addresses to the computers in the
innernetworkareallocated byU25 viaits ownDHCP server of
theseries 192.168.10.1– 192.168.10.255.NATtranslation
of IP addresses is on. In a computer connected to U25 the IP
address can be set by means of DHCP. Usually, this mode can
be used to connect multimedia appliances such as Smart TV,

Click Start - Control panels – Network and Internet – Net-
works and Sharing Centre – Change Adapter Settings”and
right click on “Wireless network connection” and choose
“Connect”.

On the PC desktop in the system part of the panel, left click
on the network wireless connection icon (make sure your
wireless network card is activated).

From the list of wireless networks choose SSIDU25 and
click“Connect.”

Enter the network password to connect to the wireless net-
workand conrmthe connectionbyclickingthe “OK”button.
The default password and SSID network name is written on
the repeater label.

Afterchecking thepasswordthe listwilldisplaytheicon“Con-
nected”, which indicates that the computer has successfully
been connected to the equipment.

Open the web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari,
etc.) and enter http://192.168.10.1 on the address line
(orthe Googlesearchline)andpush ENTERon thekeyboard.

A new window will appear where you can enter the login
name and password.The default name: admin and default
password: admin.The password for access can be changed
in the web interface in the advanced settings.
Setting of the wireless parameters depends
from the selected operating mode
Router or AP (Access Point) mode

Click Access Point or Router according to the mode you
wish to choose.

Choose the name of the SSID in your new wireless network
(default: U25) and password to secure the network. The
password must be at least 8 symbols long.

Set the WAN connection to Internet. You can choose from
the oer: static IP address, dynamic IP address allocated
by the DHCP server or PPPoE Dial-Up. If you are not sure,
choose DHCP. After the setting, click the icon ”Save/Apply”
to store the settings.

Click the icon Repeater, or Repeater WISP (Fig. 12) to
choosethe repeatermodeandthenclicktheicon“SiteSurvey”
tond anyavailablenetworksaround.Inthe“Select”column
click the line of the desired SSID network. In the eld Pre-
Shared Key: enter the password to connect to the chosen
WiFinetwork(the samepasswordisforaccess tothe extended
networkwith thehelpof therepeater).After thesetting,click
the icon ”Save/Apply” to store the setting.
Repeater WISP
The same setting as in the repeater.
Client mode
Clickthe iconClientorClientWISP(Fig.12) tochose theClient
modeorWISPClientmodeand thenclick“SiteSurvey”iconto
nd all available networks around. In the “Select” column
click the line of the desired SSID network. In the eld Pre-
Shared Key: enter the password to connect to the chosen
WiFinetwork. Afterthesetting, clicktheicon “Save/Apply”
tostore thesetting. Aftersettingthe U25 tothe Client mode,
disconnect it from PC and connect to the multimedia appli-
ance.The setting will remain and the multimedia appliance
will be connected automatically.
Wisp client
The setting is the same as the client.

Equipment reset and restoration of the defaults
ActivateU25 andleaveiton. Holdthe resetbuttononthe side
oftheappliance forat least5seconds untiltheblue indicator
diode goes dark for moment. All settings will be deleted and
factory defaults will be restored.
