Important:
The appliance shall be installed in accordance with;
• This installation instruction booklet
• Local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI
Z223.1/NFPA 54, or the Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code, CSA B149.1
• A manufactured home (USA only) or mobile home OEM installation must conform with
the Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standard, Title 24 CFR, Part 3280, or,
when such a standard is not applicable, the Standard for Manufactured Home Installations
ANSI/NCSBCS A225.1, or Standard for Gas Equipped Recreational Vehicles and Mobile Housing,
CSA Z240.4
• Any other relevant statutory regulations.
• Must be installed by a qualified installer, service agency or gas supplier
• Converting this appliance for use with other gasses must be done by a qualified installer, service
agency, or gas supplier
Warning:
-The area around the ST900 MUST be kept clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline and
other flammable vapors and liquids.
-Any safety screen or guard removed for servicing the ST900 must be replaced prior to operating it.
-Do not use this appliance if any part has been under water. Immediately call a qualified service
technician to inspect the appliance and to replace any part of the control system and any gas control
which has been under water.
-Caution: Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause
improper and dangerous operation.
-Verify proper operation after servicing.
DUE TO HIGH TEMPERATURES, THE APPLIANCE
SHOULD BE LOCATED OUT OF TRAFFIC AND
AWAY FROM FURNITURE AND DRAPERIES.
INSTALLATION AND REPAIR SHOULD BE DONE
BY AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE PERSON. THE
APPLIANCE SHOULD BE INSPECTED BEFORE USE
AND AT LEAST ANNUALLY BY A PROFESSIONAL
SERVICE PERSON. MORE FREQUENT CLEANING
MAY BE REQUIRED DUE TO EXCESSIVE LINT
FROM CARPETING, BEDDING MATERIAL, ETC. IT
IS IMPERATIVE THAT CONTROL
COMPARTMENTS, BURNERS AND CIRCULATING
AIR PASSAGEWAYS OF THE APPLIANCE BE KEPT
CLEAN.
CHILDREN AND ADULTS SHOULD BE ALERTED
TO THE HAZARDS OF HIGH SURFACE
TEMPERATURES, ESPECIALLY THE FIREPLACE
GLASS, AND SHOULD STAY AWAY TO AVOID
BURNS OR CLOTHING IGNITION.
YOUNG CHILDREN SHOULD BE CAREFULLY
SUPERVISED WHEN THEY ARE IN THE SAME
AREA AS THE APPLIANCE. TODDLERS, YOUNG
CHILDREN AND OTHERS MAY BE SUSCEPTIBLE
TO ACCIDENTAL CONTACT BURNS. A PHYSICAL
BARRIERS IS RECOMMENDED IF THERE ARE AT
RISK INDIVIDUAL IN THE HOUSE. TO RESTRICT
ACCESS TO A FIREPLACE OR STOVE, INSTALL AN
ADJUSTABLE SAFETY GATE TO KEEP TODDLERS,
YOUNG CHILDREN AND OTHER AT RISK
INDIVIDUALS OUT OF THE ROOM AND AWAY
FROM HOT SURFACES.
CLOTHING OR OTHER FLAMMABLE MATERIAL
SHOULD NOT BE PLACED ON OR NEAR THE
APPLIANCE.
