ACHTUNG: Arbeiten am 230 V Netz dürfen nur von autorisiertem Fachpersonal unter
Berücksichtigung der landesüblichen Installationsvorschriften/-normen ausgeführt werden.
Vor der Montage des Produktes ist die Netzspannung freizuschalten.
Das Produkt ist nur für den sachgemäßen Gebrauch (wie in der Bedienungsanleitung
beschrieben) bestimmt. Änderungen, Modifikationen oder Lackierungen dürfen nicht
vorgenommen werden, da ansonsten jeglicher Gewährleistungsanspruch entfällt.
Sofort nach dem Auspacken ist das Gerät auf Beschädigungen zu prüfen. Im Falle einer
Beschädigung darf das Gerät keinesfalls in Betrieb genommen werden.
Wenn anzunehmen ist, dass ein gefahrloser Betrieb des Gerätes nicht gewährleistet
werden kann, so ist dieses unverzüglich außer Betrieb zu nehmen und gegen
unbeabsichtigten Betrieb zu sichern.
Der PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ ist ein Gasmelder mit elektronischem Sensor für Erdgas
(CNG, Methan) und Flüssiggas/Flaschengas (LPG, Propan/Butan) zur Nutzung in privaten Wohnhäusern,
Wohnungen und Räumen mit wohnungsähnlicher Nutzung.
Lange bevor ein entzündliches Luft-/Gasgemisch entsteht, löst ausströmendes Gas
einen ca. 85 dB lauten Alarm aus, der weithin zu hören ist.
Zusätzliche Alarmierungsmöglichkeiten bestehen durch einen 9 V-Ausgang (z. B. zur
Ansteuerung der PROTECTOR 9 V Rauchmelder).
Für eine optimale Absicherung von Haushalten sollte der PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ in
allen Räumen installiert werden, in denen ein gasbetriebenes Gerät verwendet wird
(z. B.: Küche mit Gasherd, Wohnräume mit Gasheizung, Heizungsraum mit Gasheizung,
Hausanschlussraum mit Gasuhr, etc.)
Der PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ wird an der Wand montiert. Die Montagehöhe richtet
sich nach der Art des zu detektierenden Gases:
•Erdgas (CNG, Methan) ist leichter als Luft und sammelt sich unter der Zimmerdecke.
Der PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ muss ca. 30 cm unterhalb der Zimmerdecke and
der Wand montiert werden.
•Flüssiggas/Flaschengas (LPG, Propan/Butan) ist schwerer als Luft und sammelt sich in
Bodennähe. Der PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ muss ca. 30 cm über dem Boden an
der Wand montiert werden.

•Diegrüne LED (Abb. 1a) blinkt für ca. 10 Min. (Aufwärmphase). Leuchtet die grüne LED
permanent, ist das Gerät betriebsbereit.
•DrückenSiedenTestknopf(Abb. 1d) solange (bis zu 5 Sek.), bis ein lauter und
pulsierender Alarmton ertönt (siehe Punkt 5 Test/Wartung).
•FürdieWeiterleitungdesAlarmsverwendenSiedieAnschlussklemmeaufder
Rückseite (Abb. 1f). Bei Alarmauslösung werden darüber 9 V ausgegeben.
Der PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ kann keine Alarme empfangen.
Folgende Anschlussmöglichkeiten stehen Ihnen zur Verfügung:
- Anschluss des PROTECTOR Schaltrelais (Zubehör) (Abb. 1g)
- Anschluss bis zu 30 PROTECTOR 9 V Rauchmelder
- Anschluss eines PROTECTOR RF-IO-Moduls

Mit dem Testknopf (Abb. 1d) wird der Melder komplett geprüft. Ein Test sollte mindestens 1 x
monatlich durchgeführt werden. Drücken Sie den Testknopf solange (bis zu 5 Sek.), bis ein lauter
und pulsierender Alarmton ertönt (ca. 85 dB). Das Gerät sollte bei Bedarf etwa 2 x jährlich trocken
abgewischt und von außen mit dem Staubsauger abgesaugt werden. Der Melder führt einen
automatischen Selbsttest durch. Bei einer Fehlfunktion blinkt die orange LED (Abb. 1b) permanent. In
diesem Fall muss der Melder ausgetauscht werden.
HINWEIS: Der PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ ist für die Gewährleistung Ihrer Sicherheit sehr
empfindlich eingestellt. Daher kann der Sensor auch auf andere Gase ansprechen (z. B.:
Treibgas aus Spraydosen, Desinfektionsmittel, etc.)

Garantie auf Herstellungs-/Materialfehler der ESYLUX Geräte. Diese Garantie besteht unabhängig
von Ihren gesetzlichen Rechten gegenüber dem Verkäufer des Geräts. Die Garantie bezieht
sich nicht auf die natürliche Abnutzung, Veränderung/Störung durch Umwelteinflüsse oder auf
Transportschäden sowie nicht auf Schäden, die infolge Nichtbeachtung der Bedienungsanleitung, der
Wartungsanweisung und/oder unsachgemäßer Installation entstanden sind. Mitgelieferte Batterien,
Leuchtmittel und Akkus sind von der Garantie ausgeschlossen. Die Garantie kann nur gewährt
werden, wenn das unveränderte Gerät unverzüglich nach Feststellung des Mangels mit Rechnung/
Kassenbon sowie einer kurzen schriftlichen Fehlerbeschreibung, ausreichend frankiert und verpackt
an den Garantiegeber eingesandt wird. Bei berechtigtem Garantieanspruch wird der Garantiegeber
nach eigener Wahl das Gerät in angemessener Zeit ausbessern oder austauschen. Weitergehende
Ansprüche umfasst die Garantie nicht, insbesondere haftet der Garantiegeber nicht für aus der
Fehlerhaftigkeit des Geräts entstehende Schäden. Sollte der Garantieanspruch nicht gerechtfertigt sein
(z.B. nach Ablauf der Garantiezeit oder bei Mängeln außerhalb des Garantieanspruchs), so kann
der Garantiegeber versuchen, das Gerät kostengünstig gegen Berechnung für Sie zu reparieren.

Congratulations on your purchase of this high-quality ESYLUX product. To ensure proper operation,
please read these user instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
CAUTION: Work on the 230 V power system must be carried out by authorised personnel only with due regard
to the applicable installation regulations. Switch off the power supply before installing the system.
Use this product only as intended (as described in the user instructions). Changes or modifications
to the product or painting it will result in loss of warranty. You should check the device for damage
immediately after unpacking it. If there is any damage, you should not install the device under any
circumstances. If you suspect that safe operation of the device cannot be guaranteed, you should turn
the device off immediately and make sure that it cannot be operated unintentionally.
The PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ is a gas detector with an electronic sensor for natural
gas (CNG, methane) and liquefied/bottled gas (LPG, propane/butane) designed for use in residential buildings.
If gas escapes, it will trigger a widely audible alarm signal (approx. 85 dB) long before a flammable
mixture of air and gas forms.
It is also possible to relay the alarm signal via a 9 V output (e.g. to the PROTECTOR 9 V smoke detector).
For optimum protection of your home, install the PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ in all rooms
in which a gas appliance is used (e.g. kitchen with gas oven, living rooms with gas
heaters, furnace room with gas boiler, gas meter closet).
The PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ is designed for wall mounting. The mounting height
depends on the type of the gas:
•Natural gas (CNG, methane) is lighter than air and collects beneath the ceiling.
The PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ needs to be mounted on the wall approx. 30 cm
below ceiling level.
•Liquefied/bottled gas (LPG, propane/butane) is heavier than air and collects at floor level.
The PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ needs to be mounted on the wall approx. 30 cm above
floor level.
NOTE:

•Connectthemainscableplugintoasocket.Bywayofatest,thedetectorwillbeep
briefly and the 3 LEDs (fig. 1a - 1c) will flash once.
•Thegreen LED (fig. 1a) will flash for approx. 10 minutes (warm-up phase). If the green LED
lights up continuously, the device is operational.
•Pressthetestbutton(fig. 1d) (for up to 5 seconds) until a loud, pulsating alarm signal
can be heard (see Section 5 Test/Maintenance).
•Torelaythealarm,usetheterminalonthereverseofthedetector(fig. 1f). If the alarm
is triggered, 9 V will be output.
The PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ is not able to receive alarm signals.
You have the option of connecting the detector to the following devices:
- PROTECTOR switching relay (accessory) (fig. 1g)
- up to 30 PROTECTOR 9 V smoke detectors
- PROTECTOR RF-IO-Module

The detector can be fully tested using the test button (fig. 1d). Perform a test at least once
a month. Press the test button (for up to 5 seconds) until a loud, pulsating alarm signal
(approx. 85 dB) can be heard. When necessary (usually about twice a year), wipe the
device with a clean, dry cloth and clean the outside with a vacuum cleaner. The device
automatically performs a test. If there is a fault, the orange LED (fig. 1b) will light up
continuously. This indicates that the detector needs to be replaced.
NOTE: To ensure your safety, the PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ is designed to be highly sensitive.
For this reason, the sensor may also react to other gases (e.g. propellants in aerosol spray cans
and disinfectant sprays).

utmost care. The guarantor, ESYLUX Deutschland GmbH, Postfach 1840, D-22908 Ahrensburg,
Germany (for Germany) or the relevant ESYLUX distributor in your country (visit www.esylux.com
for a complete overview) provides a guarantee against manufacturing/material defects in ESYLUX
devices for a period of three years from the date of manufacture.
This guarantee is independent of your legal rights with respect to the seller of the device.
The guarantee does not apply to natural wear and tear, changes/interference caused by
environmental factors or damage in transit, nor to damage caused as a result of failure to follow
the user or maintenance instructions and/or as a result of improper installation. Any illuminants or
batteries supplied with the device are not covered by the guarantee.
The guarantee can only be honoured if the device is sent back with the invoice/receipt, unchanged,
packed and with sufficient postage to the guarantor, along with a brief description of the fault, as
soon as a defect has been identified.
If the guarantee claim proves justified, the guarantor will, within a reasonable period, either repair
the device or replace it. The guarantee does not cover further claims; in particular, the guarantor will
not be liable for damages resulting from the device’s defectiveness. If the claim is unfounded (e.g.
because the guarantee has expired or the fault is not covered by the guarantee), then the guarantor
may attempt to repair the device for you for a fee, keeping costs to a minimum.
NOTE: this device must not be disposed of as unsorted household waste. Used devices must be
disposed of correctly. Contact your local town council for more information.

ATTENTION : seules des personnes autorisées et qualifiées pour effectuer une installation
conforme aux normes et prescriptions en vigueur peuvent intervenir sur le réseau 230 V.
Coupez le courant avant d’installer le produit.
Ce produit ne doit être utilisé que dans les conditions prévues par le présent mode d’emploi. Toute
modification du produit (ajout, peinture, etc.) entraîne l’annulation de la garantie. Une fois que vous
avez déballé l’appareil, vérifiez qu’il ne présente aucun défaut. En cas d’anomalie, ne le mettez pas
en marche. Si vous n’êtes pas certain que l’appareil peut être utilisé en toute sécurité, éteignez-le

Le PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ est un détecteur de gaz avec capteur électronique pour le gaz naturel
(GNC, méthane) et le gaz liquéfié/en bouteille (GPL, propane/butane) pouvant être utilisé dans les maisons
et appartements, ainsi que toutes les pièces habitables.

Pour une protection optimale de votre foyer, placez des PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ dans
toutes les pièces équipées d’une installation au gaz (par ex. cuisine avec gaz naturel,
pièces chauffées au gaz, chaufferies au gaz, locaux techniques avec compteur de gaz).
Le PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ se pose au mur. La hauteur de montage dépend du type de gaz à détecter :
•Le gaz naturel (CNG, méthane) est plus léger que l’air : posez le détecteur à environ 30 cm du plafond.
•Le gaz liquéfié/en bouteille (GPL, propane/butane) est plus lourd que l’air : posez le détecteur
à environ 30 cm du sol.
