We congratulate you on having purchased this „euroline®product“. This lanyard has been manufactured and controlled with a great deal of
care and under very rigorous quality criteria. So the requirements for safe use have been observed. Now it is up to you to use this full body
and rescue harness in the CORRECT way! THEREFORE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE CAREFULLY BEFORE USING FOR THE
FIRST TIME! Please keep these instructions for use with the product, so you will be able to refer to them in case of problems and ll in the TEST
SHEET on the last page carefully. In case of necessary repairs or complaints it is absolutely essential to send us this test sheet togehter with
the product. The lanyard helps towards the safety of people in areas at risk from falling from a height. It may be used only by people who have
the phyical and mental capabilities as well as the necessary knowledge (INSTRUCTION according to item 8) for safe use. In order to allow the
fastest possible rescue of casualties after a fall from a height or any other accident, it is necessary to have an emergency plan, which considers
the rescue measures for all possible cases of emergency during work.
1) Regulations for the holder of the equipment
Personal protective equipment should be at the disposal of one individual user. Immediately after each use, a visual inspection of the PPE has
to be carried out in order to guarantee that it is in working order. A product which no longer seems safe, must in case of doubt, NOT BE USED
anymore and should be replaced immediately.
Please note especially:
- Damage on supporting parts, which are essential for safety, such as ropes, webbings and seams (tears, cuts, other)
- Damage of plastic and/or metal ttings
This inspection may only be omitted, if the product is part of emergency equipment and has been inspected and put into a closed container by
a competent person. Observe the label for the next regular inspection and the maximum period of use (according to item 3).
2) Periodic inspection
A visual inspection of the PPE must be carried out at least once a year (the frequency of such an inspection depends on the type and intensity
of use) by a COMPETENT PERSON. This visual inspection must include the determination of wear and tear.
- The result of this visual inspection
- the type
- the model
- the serial number or individual number
- the next inspection
- remarks
- problems
- the examiner’s name and signature or his initials
have to be entered into the test sheet (last page!).Labels or markings must not be removed from the product in order to always guarantee the
traceability of the product.
3) Application period
The lifetime of this safety products is basically dependent on the type and frequency of application as well as conditions of use, care in maintenance
and storage, and can therefore not be universally dened. Products manufactured from man-made bres (e.g. polyamide, polyester, aramid) are
subject to ageing even if not used, depending in particular on the strength of ultraviolet radiation and environmental inuences.
Maximum lifetime 12 years
The maximum lifetime of euroline® plastic and textile products is 12 years from the date of manufacture, if not used and stored optimally.
Maximum lifetime of 10 years
In case of occasional and appropriate use, without obvious wear, the maximum lifetime is 10 years from the date of rst use.
Storage duration 2 years
The storage period before rst use, without service life being diminished, is 2 years from date of manufacture.
In case of compliance with all instructions for safe handling and storage, following non-binding lifetime recommendations can be made:
• Intensive everyday use – less than 1 year
• Regular year-round use – 1 year to 2 years
• Regular seasonal use – 2 to 3 years
• Occasional use (once a month) – 3 to 4 years
• Sporadic use – 5 to 7 years
Metalttingssuchasbuckles,carabiners,etc....:
The lifetime of metal ttings is basically unlimited, but they must also be subjected to periodic inspections that cover damage/wear and deformation.
With use of different materials in a product, the period of use depends on the more sensitive materials.
Extreme operating conditions can make the elimination of a product necessary after a single application (type and intensity of use, application,
aggressive environments, sharp edges, extreme temperatures, chemicals, etc.).
A PPE against falls from a height must always be eliminated:
• if there is damage to load-bearing components essential for safety, such as belts and seams (cracks, cuts or other)
• in case of damage to plastic and/or metal ttings
• in case of stress due to a fall or heavy load
• after expiry of the period of use
• if a product appears not to be safe or reliable if the product is outdated and no longer meets the technical standards (change of legal
regulations, standards and technical regulations, incompatibility with other equipment, etc.)
• if the history of use is unknown or incomplete (inspection logbook)
• if product labels no longer exist, are unreadable or missing (even partially)
• if the instruction manual/logbook of the product is missing (because the product‘s history can not be traced!)
• See also section: 2) Provisions for the equipment owner
If a visual inspection by the user, equipment owner or a QP has revealed defects or if the PPE‘s lifetime has expired, it must be eliminated.
The elimination must be done in such a manner that reuse is excluded with certainty (e.g. by cutting and disposing of the straps, ttings, etc.).
In case of frequent use, intensive wear and extreme environmental conditions, the allowed period of use is shortened. The decision on the
applicability of the device must always be taken by the responsible COMPETENT PERSON within the prescribed periodic inspection period.
