of installing electrical wiring, secure the services of a qualied
electrician.
WARNING: All electrical connections must be in accordance
with local codes, ordinances, or national electrical codes.
Warranty
The manufacturer extends this warranty to the original retail purchaser of its model or, if this unit is purchased and installed by a new home
builder, then to the original owner of the home. No subsequent purchaser of the unit or of a home in which it is installed is entitled to any of
the benets of this warranty.
This product is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of original retail
purchase. No other components or parts are warranted. There is no warranty for defects caused by abuse, faulty installation, or the like.
Repairs or replacement parts supplied under this warranty are warranted only for the period of this warranty; that is, two (2) years from the
date of the original retail purchase of the unit.
In the event of a defect or malfunction, we will replace or repair the defective part or component only and return the new or repaired part to
your freight prepaid. You must bear all other expenses incurred in obtaining repairs, including labor required for eld repair or replacement
and the cost of shipping the defective part of component to use. You must also bear the cost of repair to or replacement of any part of
component and the shipping charges incurred for the repair or replacement and return to you any part of component not covered by this
warranty, including parts of components damaged by you.
The company reserves the right to demand and receive written evidence of the date of purchase before undertaking to perform its
obligations under this warranty. You should, therefore, retain your sales slip and attach a copy of it to the warranty claim.
There is no informal dispute setting mechanism available in the event of a controversy involving this warranty.
Any and all implied warranties which may exist terminate upon the expiration of this written warranty, two (2) years from the date of the
original retail purchase. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this limitation may not apply to you.
The manufacturer is not liable to you for incidental or consequential damages arising out of a defect or malfunction of a unit of its
installation or out of any alleged breach of this warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, so this limitation may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specic legal rights and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state.

Installation
1 Preparing the installation location
□Locate a suitable location along the wall away from
prevailing winds. If multiple units are to be installed, units
should be spaced evenly throughout the building to provide
balanced airow.
□Mark an area equal to the size of the inner edges of the
shutter with the joist in the center.
□Remove any insulation or nonstructural material from the
location.

2 Cutting the rough opening
This installation requires an 18.5 in. x 18.5 in. rough opening.
□Remove the wall studs.
□Cut the appropriate sized rough opening in the outer
wall. The rough opening should be centered between
remaining studs and positioned so that lowest point of the
rough opening will be at least 8 ft above oor level where
possible.

3 Framing the installation location
□Using conventional framing methods in accordance with local building requirements and codes, build a frame around the rough
opening to support the unit and maintain structural integrity of the wall as needed.
□Use lumber of the same dimensions as your joists and fasten them to the edges of the frame opening using #12D nails (not
included) to create a complete square frame then replace the insulation around the frame. Then use 2 x 6 boards (not included) to
create a square rest with the inside dimensions being the same as the opening.
4 Installing the shutter
□After the fan (not included) is successfully installed, attach
the shutter to the outer wall framing using wood screws
(not included) as needed.

Operation
Ensure there is adequate air intake (10 sq ft) available prior to
operation. Shutters will open and close, with air ow increase or
decrease, once properly installed on the host fan.
