Chapter1IntroducingtheFX5201System
Overview
The FX5201 is a 1U embedded system with AMD Geode™ LX-800 processor board
inside. This user’s manual provides information on the physical features, installation,
and BIOS setup of the FX5201.
Built to unleash the total potential of the AMD Geode™ Processor, Able to support
500 MHz CPU, this system support 10/100M interface network port, audio, 1 So-
DIMM socket with 256MB DDR RAM, Four USB2.0 ports, and a VGA controller.
Each FX5201 has two ports for I/O communications. Two RS-232C ports are
available.
The FX5201 is perfect for ATM machines, KIOSK, point-of-sales/point-of- information,
gaming and infotainment, measurement technology, lotteries, banking and Thin
Client and small Embedded Control. The unit is only 123.0mm(D) x 120.0mm(W) x
44.2mm(H), offering unparalleled performance in a very small footprint.
