In addition to any local Warranty, Final Sound off rs a 1 y ar conditional Worldwid

Warranty to th nd us r. Pl as s your d al r for any warranty s rvic .

Final Sound warrants its Subwoof rs to b fr from d f cts in mat rial and

workmanship for a p riod of 1 y ar from th dat of purchas . Final Sound and/or its

d signat d r pr s ntativ s shall hav all final d t rmination about th validity of a

warranty claim.

This warranty shall not apply to any product that has b n subj ct to misus , n gl ct,

accid nt, or abnormal conditions of op ration, including but not limit d to us in

prof ssional sound/PA syst ms. Burnt voic coils and brok n tins l l ads ar not cov r d

as warrantabl it ms. This warranty is limit d to th original own r, and is not

transf rabl .

Final Sound’s obligation und r this warranty is limit d to r pairing, r placing or

r funding th original purchas pric ( xclusiv of shipping charg s), at Final Sound’s

option, any product r turn d to th factory within 1 y ar of th dat of purchas , provid d

that Final Sound d t rmin s that th unit is d f ctiv and has b n us d in complianc

with th t rms of this warranty.

For products that fail d du to manufacturing d f cts Final Sound will r imburs

shipping costs. Shipping costs will b limit d to d liv ry by UPS Ground. Costs incurr d

abov and b yond th s l v ls will not b r imburs d.

If th failur has b n caus d by misus , n gl ct, accid nt, or abnormal conditions of

op ration, r pair or r plac m nt will b bill d at a nominal cost, pursuant to custom r

agr m nt to such r pair or r plac m nt. No shipping costs will b r imburs d.

3. DESIGN SAFETY

This subwoof r is suppli d with a r movabl IEC pow r cord. Us only IEC pow r cords

d sign d for th pow r r c ptacl of your country, and with a minimum curr nt rating of

2.5A.

For 220V op ration, a 1A fus is r quir d. For 110V op ration, a 2A fus is r quir d. In

both cas s th fus must b rat d for 250V op ration. Us only th rat d siz d fus s. Do

not us without th fus cov r in plac . If th fus hold r is damag d or worn, s your

d al r for r plac m nt.

4. FEATURES OF THE S90 SUBWOOFER

Th S90 subwoof r has a wid vari ty of f atur s, including:

-Switchabl phas control

-Variabl low pass crossov r (60 Hz to 240 Hz)

-Auto turn-on

-High and low l v l inputs

-High l v l outputs

-Switchabl pow r supply (110/220V us r s l ctabl )

Th cabin t of th S90 us s 12mm thick high d nsity composit walls. Th cabin t is

finish d in a high gloss acrylic piano black finish.

Th amplifi r is a 60W RMS at 4 ohm class A/B d sign. It is not a switching/class D

amplifi r, and as such has a v ry low nois floor. It f atur s a larg pow r transform r,

ov rsiz d pow r supply capacitors, and a larg xt rnal aluminum h atsink to nsur

long-t rm cool op ration.

Th driv r is a v ry long throw 16,25 cm diam t r driv r with a pat nt p nding stamp d

fram XLB2 woof r.

Th lin ar motor str ngth curv from this motor nsur s xtr m ly low distortion and

compr ssion ov r th full op rating bandwidth, as w ll as a v ry high transi nt r spons .

4.1. Control Panel

Th control pan l of th S90 is lab l d for asy id ntification and us . Th most

commonly adjust d controls ar locat d th top of th amplifi r, whil th l ast acc ss d

conn ctions ar locat d at th bottom.

Th volum control allows s tting th gain of th built-in amplifi r to match your main

sp ak rs. A total rang of 60 dB is provid d, allowing int gration with n arly any audio

syst m.

Phas can b switch d b tw n 0 and 180 d gr s. Phas adjustm nt is critical to g t

prop r subwoof r/sp ak r int gration.

Th crossov r fr qu ncy has a roll-off rang from 60 Hz to 250 Hz. For us with Final

Sound l ctrostatic pan ls th crossov r is typically s t to 170 Hz.

4.2. Connections

Th auto-on switch will plac th amplifi r in low-pow r mod until an input signal is

d t ct d on th low or high l v l inputs. Wh n an input signal is d t ct d th amplifi r

will automatically turn on, and will stay on for approximat ly 10 minut s aft r th input

signal is r mov d.

Th lin l v l inputs ar standard RCA conn ctors, and ar compatibl with all consum r

l ctronics. Th amplifi r will automatically sum th two input signals tog th r to cr at

a mono bass signal. In th v nt an LFE/SUB-OUT signal is f d to th subwoof r, ith r

lin l v l input may b us d.

Th high l v l inputs ar r gular binding posts, and ar compatibl with all consum r

amplifi rs. Th input imp danc of th high l v l inputs is high nough to not draw

significant amounts of pow r or load down th output of any pow r amplifi r. Small

gaug wir may b us d to provid th input signal.

Th pow r conn ction is a standard IEC conn ctor with a built-in fus hold r. Th pow r

supply cord must b plugg d into th conn ctor b for th pow r supply cord is plugg d

into th wall sock t.

Th fus is contain d insid th IEC conn ctor. Th small tab insid th conn ctor must

b d pr ss d allowing th fus hold r to b slid out. Th pow r supply cord cannot b

us d wh n th fus hold r is xt nd d or r mov d.

4.3. Installation of feet

Mount ach foot at th corn r, with th smooth/round d dg to th outsid .

Tight n ach scr w down hand-tight; do not ov r-tight n th scr w or you may strip th

scr w out of th cabin t.

Ensur that all f t ar s cur d to th bottom of th cabin t b for s tting th subwoof r

upright.

5. CONNECTING THE S90 TO YOUR SYSTEM

Always switch off your system before connecting any wires!

To incr as th v rsatility of conn cting up, th S90 has various s p rat high and low

l v l inputs.

5.1. igh Level Inputs

Conn ct th right amplifi r output to th right high l v l input; conn ct th l ft amplifi r

output to th l ft high l v l input.

Conn ct th positiv amplifi r output to th r d binding post; conn ct th n gativ

amplifi r output to th black binding post.

Ensur that th sp ak r wir is compl t ly s at d in th amplifi r outputs and th

subwoof r’s high l v l inputs b for turning on any compon nt.

5.2. Low Level Inputs

Mak sur your ntir syst m is pow r d off.

For st r o conn ction, us a pair of RCA cabl s. For mono/LFE/SUB-OUT us a singl

RCA cabl .

Conn ct on nd of th RCA cabl s to th prop r output of your

r c iv r/pr amplifi r/proc ssor.

Conn ct th oth r nd of th RCA cabl s to th lin l v l inputs of th subwoof r.

Ensur that th RCA cabl s ar fully s at d in all conn ctors b for turning on any

compon nt.

6. ADJUSTING THE S90

S t th S90 in th d sir d location.

Conn ct th S90 to th st r o or hom th atr syst m (s th instructions in s ction 5).

S t th volum control to a minimum, th crossov r fr qu ncy to th 12 o’clock position

and th phas to 0 d gr s.

Turn on your audiosyst m and play music you ar familiar with.

Turn up th subwoof r volum to a l v l that match s th main sp ak rs.

Switch th phas control to a maximum bass output.

R -adjust th volum control.

Turn up th crossov r fr qu ncy until th location of th bass b com s obvious, or th

bass from th subwoof r ov rwh lms that from th main sp ak rs.

R -adjust th volum control.

. OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES

As with all Final products, th S90 is d sign d to provid th high st l v l of

p rformanc . How v r, th S90 still has limits that should b obs rv d.

If th S90 b gins to ov rload or h avily distort, turn down th bass or volum .

If th S90 ov rwh lms th output of th main sp ak rs, turn down th volum .

If th main sp ak rs sound strain d, rais th S90 crossov r fr qu ncy.

If th bass sounds loos or dislocat d, adjust th phas or plac m nt of th subwoof r

until th probl m disapp ars.

Plac m nt of th subwoof r within th room is critical to th op ration of th S90.

R comm nd d locations includ th c nt r of th front wall, ith r front corn r, or th

c nt r of th sid walls.

If th S90 malfunctions, turn th subwoof r off , ch ck th conn ctions and turn th

subwoof r back on. If th probl m p rsists, contact your d al r for additional

troubl shooting.

8. CABINET CARE

Th finish on th S90 is a high str ngth, scratch-r sistant acrylic. How v r, as with all

fin furnitur finish s th cabin t can still b scratch d.

Always unplug th S90 prior to cl aning.

Do not cl an or dust th cabin t with any abrasiv cl an r. Us only a fin quality spray

or wip -on furnitur /dust cl an r.

Do not us any abrasiv rag or scrubb r. Us only a lint-fr cl an cloth.
