IMPORTANT!
This wood appliance must be installed to AS/NZS 2918:2001 by a qualified person and in accordance with
these instructions. Failure to install the appliance correctly will void your warranty and may cause a fire.
This appliance should not be modified under any circumstances.
It is recommended that you have this appliance serviced annually by a qualified technician.
Warranty repairs must be carried out by a ‘The Fire Dept.’ authorised technician.
This appliance must ALWAYS terminate / flue outdoors.
Young children, elderly or infirm should be supervised to ensure that they are careful with the appliance.
Clothing and other flammable materials should never be placed near the appliance.
Please note that parts (near the flame) of this appliance become extremely hot during operation and can
result in serious injury and burns if touched. It is therefore recommended that a fireguard complying with
BS 8423:2002 is used in the presence of young children, the elderly or infirm.
This installation guide must be read in conjunction with the technical specifications for this
appliance.

Step 1: Unpack and ensure all components are correct and undamaged
Steel firebox.
Outer cavity box.
Ashpan.
AAC panels.
AAC supporting brackets.
Flue kit.
WD6 technical specifications (to be read in conjunction with this installation guide).

Step 2: Pre-installation checklist
Ensure cavity dimensions are correct –refer to technical specifications.
Ensure hearth dimensions are correct –refer to technical specifications.
Plan flue path.
The starting point: Timber frame.
Note: Timber lintel to suit opening must be fitted after appliance has been fixed into position.

Step 3: Fit steel AAC supporting brackets into cavity
Fix the AAC supporting brackets into position in accordance with technical specifications
(example shown). Rear brackets have 6 x fixing holes each and the front brackets have 4 x
fixings holes each. 5mm screws/bolts.

Step 4: Fix AAC panel to steel support brackets
Uncut AAC panels and cement supplied.
Steel screws and wood screws supplied.
All joints must be cemented.
IMPORTANT! Refer to technical specifications for latest version of cutting list.
2. Fix rear AAC panel to steel supporting brackets.
Countersink 2 x 5mm 80mm long steel screws per
bracket.
NOTE: ensure fixing bolts/screws don’t extend past
and into the base under the AAC supporting brackets.
3. Fix hearth AAC panel to steel supporting
brackets. Countersink 2 x 5mm x 65mm
long steel screws per bracket.
NOTE: ensure fixing bolts/screws don’t
extend past and into the base under the

1. Cut supplied AAC panels in accordance with technical specifications (example shown).

Step 5: Fit firebox and outer cavity box into cavity
1. Remove ash pan from firebox and outer cavity box.
2. With a minimum of two people, slide the firebox
and outer cavity box into position.
3. Fix the fire box through the AAC panel and into the AAC
supporting brackets. 2 x 5mm x 120mm long self-drilling
steel fixings.
NOTE: ensure fixing bolts/screws don’t extend past and
into the base under the AAC supporting brackets.

Step 6: Fit flue
1. Run the flue transition.
The flue runs into the firebox.
The inner casing runs into the outer cavity box.
The outer casing finishes 25mm above the outer
cavity box.
2. Complete the rest of the flue installation.
Note: The 1600mm wide model has 2 flues.
3. Complete the rest of the timber lintel
framing in accordance with appropriate
technical specifications.

Step 7: Insert ashpan into fire box cavity
Insert ashpan into firebox.
Appliance is now ready for customer-specified outer finishes.

Step 8: Show owner how to operate appliance
Following the Operating Instructions on the next page, show the owner how to operate the baffle.
If the owner is not available, leave this manual by the appliance.
