Installation:
1.Forproperinstallationofthe200strikerefertotheappropriatetemplatedrawing.
2.Priortoinstallation,makethenecessarywireconnectionspertheappropriatewiringdiagram.
3.Properoperatingvoltagemustbesuppliedtothestrikeifitistofunctioncorrectly.Voltageatthestrikemustbewithin+/-10%ofthe
requiredvoltagelistedonthestrikelabel.
4.Toinstallthestrikeintotheframeopening.
a.Positionthewiringeitherdownoruptowardthebackofthehollowmetalframe,makingsureitstayscompletelyouto fthewayof
thestrikesoasnottopinchitwheninstalling.
b.Mountthestrikeusingscrewssupplied:

5.Afterinstallation,checkthehorizontalalignment.Becertainthatthecenterlineofthelatchboltisalignedwiththecenterlineofthe
strikekeeper.
Problem
Strikeisnotrelocking
orisnotunlocking
Strikedoesnotoperate
whensuppliedtothe
strike.
Strikeoperates
intermittently.
Solenoidoverheating
orburnedout.
Solenoidplunger
binding(plungerwill
notextendorretract).
Solution
Checkforpropervoltagebeing
suppliedtothestrike.
Checkforpropervoltagebeing
energized.
Checkallwiring.
Checkthecoilresistanceofthe
solenoidandcompareittothe
chartlocatedonthewiring
diagramtoinsurethecorrect
solenoidisbeingused.
Checkforloosewire
connection.
Checkforproperalignment
betweenstrikekeeperandbolt.
Realignfaceplateifnecessary.
Thekeepermaynotbe
returningtothefullylocked
position.
Checkthestrikewiththedoor
open,ifthestrikerelockscheck
thehorizontalalignment
betweenthestrikekeeperand
thelatchbolt.
Checkthesolenoidassemblyto
insurethesolenoidplungeris
movingf reely.
Checkalignmentbetween
solenoidplungerandslide.
Operation:
TheFolgerAdam200serieselectricstrikeisasolenoidoperated
device.
1.NFSOperatingmode(NON-FAILSAFE)
Whenpowerisapplied,thesolenoidpullsthelockingslideinto
theunlockedposition,allowingthedoortobeopened.Ifpower
fails,thestrikewillremainlocked.NOTE:Non-failsafestrikes
foruseinfirerateddoorscanonlybeoperatedbymomentary
contactswitching(energizedonlywhenthepushbuttonisheld
depressed)andcannotbeheldintheunlockedposition.
2.FAIL-SAFEOPERATINGMODE
Whenpowerisapplied,thesolenoidpushesthelockingslideinto
thelockedpositionandthedoorcannotbeopened.Ifpowerfails
thestrikewillunlock.
NOTE:Non-failsafestrikesforuseinfirerateddoorscanonlybe
operatedbymomentarycontactswitching(energizedonlywhen
thepushbuttonishelddepressed)andcannotbeheldinthe
unlockedposition.
1.SOLENOIDVOLTAGE:
24VDCisstandard.Optionalvoltagesavailableare12VDC,
12VACor24VAC.
NOTE:WhencontrolpowersourceisAC,thestrikeissupplied
withanexternallyattachedbridgerectifier.Thesolenoidisrated
forDCandcannotbeusedwithAC.Itcanbeusedwitharectifier
however.
2.FAIL-SAFE
Thestrikeislockedwhenenergized.Thisfeatureshouldbeused
forapplicationsthatrequireautomaticunlockingincaseofpower
failure.
CAUTION:Fail-safeisnotpermittedwiththeULfiredoor
accessorylabel.
OPERATIONALNOTE:
Thisproductmaybeprovidedfail-safe(FS)orfail-secure(NFS).
Failsafeversionsallowexitincaseofpowerfailure.Failsecure
versionsdonotallowexitincaseofpowerfailure.Consultwith
thelocalauthorityhavingjuristictionconcerningtheinstallationof
thistypeofproductastowhetherlistedpanichardwareis
requiredtoallowemergencyexitfromthesecuredarea.
