DESCRIPTION
Dry state GCE SAFE-GUARD-5 (referred to as “FBA“) complies with EN730 part 1, a safety
device for connection to and protection of cylinder regulators and manifold supply points.
Available in two versions, oxygen (0-10 bar inlet RH) and fuel (acetylene 0-1.5 bar, propane/
hydrogen/methane/natural gas 0-5.0 bar LH) with following features:
Sintered ame arresting element
Non return valve to prevent the reverse ow of gases
Pressure cut-off device, activated by the pressure wave accompanying a ashback
Thermal cut-off device, activated by heat to permanently cut off the gas supply
Reset mechanism to advise if the unit has activated, and also to reset the unit.
INSTALLATION
Use no oil or grease during the installation or use of this product.
At installation mark the month and year when the next annual inspection is due.
1. Ensure reset mechanism RM is in open position, with lever parallel to FBA body. If
lever is at an angle to FBA body press it down to parallel position. Never obstruct lever
MOVEMENT.
2. Connect inlet of FBA (1) to outlet of regulator after ensuring that the outlet pressure rating
on the supply regulator is lower than or equal to the inlet pressure rating on the FBA.
3. Connect hose to the FBA outlet (2), pressurise the system with downstream valves closed
and check all joints for leaks with approved leak detection uid.
4. Once the FBA has been dedicated to a particular gas service it should not be changed to
be used on other gases
AFTER FBA ACTIVATION (GAS FLOW INTERRUPTED)
1. Turn gas supply to the FBA off. Identify reason for activation and rectify.
2. Reset the unit by pressing lever RM down. If this proves difcult due to pressure imbalance
then loosen inlet/outlet (1/2) to balance. If unit still fails to reset it is likely that thermal
device TV has cut-off, permanently, and the FBA should be discarded.
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
This FBA contains no user serviceable parts.
4.1 PERIODICAL CHECKS
This FBA must be checked at least annually for non return valve function, pressure cut-off
function, ow rate and leakage.
NOTE: To register rst use and remind for next inspection please mark the label provided
on this product.
Ignoring or omitting periodical checks can lead to deterioration of FBA performance
and/or in case of damage or an unlikely loss of safety function - this could remain
unnoticed. Without periodical checks a risk of re & explosion increases signicantly.
The contact address of the nearest authorised service centre can be provided on request by
your GCE representative.
4.2 SERVICE LIFE
This FBA has a Maximum Service Life of 5 years counted from date of rst installation.
Ageing, contamination and wear of internal components is time and conditions usage
dependant and exceeding the Maximum Service Life can result in increased ow resistance,

lower reliability and higher accident risk.
Maximum Service Life is based on the use of FBA in typical industrial conditions without
mechanical or thermal damage and having the suggested Periodical Check performed
regularly.
Maximum Service Life period is not to be confused with Product Warranty.
SAFETY NOTE
Keep hands and tools clean as oil and grease can cause an explosion in contact with
oxygen.
Follow the instructions provided by the blowpipe or torch manufacturer.
Ensure there are no gas leaks in equipment, hoses and joints, and that threads and
seals are in good order.
FBA is a safety device. If there is any doubt that it is not in a fully working condition,
then it should be replaced.
FBA has no serviceable parts. It should therefore not be disassembled or tampered
with in any way.
FBA is a sensitive but robust safety device which is sealed by the manufacturer.
Under no circumstances should it be disassembled or tampered with in any way!
WARRANTY
24 months from the date of delivery. To claim, proof of purchase with valid purchase receipt
is required. GCE is obliged to exchange the product within one month from the date of return
of the product. The liability of the product for the use with industrial gases is irrevocably
transferred to the owner or operator to the extent that it is modied, serviced or repaired
by personnel not employed or authorised by GCE or if the apparatus is used in a manner
not conforming to its intended use. GCE cannot be held responsible for the misuse of the
equipment in case of failure to comply with the instructions for use.

BESCHREIBUNG
Die Sicherheitseinrichtung GCE SAFE GUARD 5 (nachstehend kurz “SG5” genannt)
erfüllt die Norm EN 730 - Teil 1, Gasschweißgeräte - Sicherheitseinrichtungen - Teil 1: Mit
integrierter Flammensperre. Die SG5 ist in zwei Varianten erhältlich, für Sauerstoff (0-10
bar - Eingang, Ausgang RH) und brennbare Gase (Azetylen 0-1,5 bar, Propan/Wasserstoff/
Methan/Erdgas 0-5,0 bar - Eingang, Ausgang LH), Bestandteile:
Flammensperre FA
Gasrücktrittventil NV zur Verhütung von Gasrücktritt
Druckgesteuerte Nachströmsperre PV, die durch eine Druckwelle bei der Rückbrennung
Rückzündung aktiviert wird
Temperaturgesteuerte Nachströmsperre TV, die durch eine unzulässige Temperaturhöhung
aktiviert wird und die Gaszufuhr dauerhaft schließt
Signal – und Reseteinrichtung , mit welcher festgestellt werden kann, ob sich die
druckgesteuerte Nachströmsperre im aktivierten Zustand bendet. Im Falle der
ausgelösten druckgesteuerten Nachströmsperre (deaktivierter Zustand), kann mittels der
Reseteinrichtung wieder der aktivierte Zustand hergestellt werden.
INSTALLATION
Kein Öl oder Fett während der Installation oder des Betriebs der Anlage verwenden.
Bei der Installation sind der Monat und das Jahr der nächsten jährlichen Kontrolle
zu kennzeichnen.
1. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass sich die Reseteinrichtung in der offenen Stellung bendet -
der Hebel muss sich parallel zur Kontour der SG5 Sicherheitseinrichtung benden. Wenn
sich der Hebel in einer anderen Position (schräg) zur SG5 bendet, drücken Sie ihn parallel
zur SG5 ein. Die HEBELBEWEGUNG der Reseteinrichtung darf nicht behindert werden!
2. Kontrollieren Sie, ob die Arbeitsdrücke des Reglers (Druckminderers) die niedriger oder
gleich sind, wie der zugelassene SG5-Eingangsdruck. Anschließend ist der SG5-Eingang
(1) an den Regler Ausgang anzuschließen.
3. Verbinden Sie den Schlauch mit dem SG5-Ausgang (2), bringen Sie das System bei
geschlossenen Absperrventilen in Strömungsrichtung unter Druck und kontrollieren Sie
eventuelle Undichtheiten mittels zugelassenem Lecksuchspray. GCE empehlt Ihnen
„GCE Gas Leak Detector“ Art.Nr. B140303
4. Nach Gebrauch der SG5 für die Anwendung mit einem bestimmten Gastyp darf nicht
die gleiche SG5 an einer für einen anderen Gastyp vorgesehenen Anlage installiert und
verwendet werden.
DIE SG5 WIRD AKTIVIERT (DIE GASZUFUHR WIRD
UNTERBROCHEN)
1. Schalten Sie die Gaszuleitung zur SG5 ab. Identizieren Sie die Ursache und nehmen Sie
die Reparatur vor.
2. Resetten Sie die Einheit durch das Eindrücken des Hebels. Wenn der Hebel wegen eines
instabilen Drucks nicht gedrückt werden kann, geben Sie den Eingang/Ausgang für die
Druckstabilisierung frei. Wenn die Einheit immer noch nicht resettet werden kann (der
Hebel wird nicht in der geschlossenen Stellung gehalten), wurde vermutlich die thermische
Nachströmsperre TV dauerhaft ausgelöst. In diesem Fall muss diese durch eine neue SG5
ersetzt werden. Bitte beachten Sie die örtlichen Entsorgungsvorschriften.

WARTUNG UND SERVICE
Diese SG5 enthält keine reparaturfähigen Teile.
4.1 REGELMÄSSIGE PRÜFUNGEN
Die SG5 ist mindestens 1 mal Jährlich auf Sicherheit gegen Gasrücktritt, Dichtheit, Funktion
der druckgesteuerten Nachströmsperre und Durchuss zu prüfen. Wir empfehlen hierzu ein
GCE Spezialprüfgerät.
ANM.: Für die Registrierung der Erstverwendung und den Hinweis auf die weitere Kontrolle
geben Sie die entsprechenden Daten am Produktschild an.
Das Ignorieren oder Auslassen der regelmäßigen Prüfungen kann zur Minderfunktion
der FBA SG5 und/oder zur eventuellen Beschädigung oder zum Verlust der
Sicherheitsfunktion führen. Ohne regelmäßige Prüfungen wird das Brand- und
Explosionsrisiko wesentlich erhöht.
Die Kontaktadresse des nächsten Servicezentrums wird auf Anfrage durch den GCE
Vertreter mitgeteilt.
4.2 LEBENSDAUER
Diese SG5 weist eine maximale Lebensdauer von 5 Jahren ab dem Tag der ersten
Installation auf. Die Anwendungsweise und -bedingungen haben den direkten Einuss auf
die kürzere Lebensdauer, Kontaminierung und Abnutzung der inneren Teile. Die allmähliche
SG5-Filterverstopfung kann bei der Überschreitung der maximalen Brauchbarkeitsdauer
des Erzeugnisses einen erhöhten Widerstand der Gasströmung, einen Druckverlust, eine
Zuverlässigkeitsminderung und Risikoerhöhung verursachen.
Für die maximale SG5-Lebensdauer wird von der Tatsache ausgegangen, dass SG5 in
der üblichen industriellen Umgebung ohne extreme mechanische oder Wärmebeschädigung
angewandt wird und dass regelmäßige SG5-Kontrollen ausgeführt werden.
Die maximale Lebensdauer bedeutet nicht die Garantiezeit des Produkts.
SICHERHEITSBEDINGUNGEN
Hände und Werkzeug sauber halten. Öl und Fett können die Explosion in Kontakt mit
Sauerstoff verursachen.
Anweisungen dieser Bedienungsanleitung und der Anleitungen aller anderen
angewandten Anlagen sind zu beachten.
Kontrollieren Sie, ob sich Gewinde und Dichtungsächen im guten Zustand benden
und nach der Montage kontrollieren Sie die Dichtheit aller Verbindungen an der
Anlage.
SG5 ist eine Sicherheitseinrichtung. Wenn Sie nicht ganz sicher sind, dass die
Einrichtung für den Betrieb in Ordnung ist, sollte sie ersetzt werden.
SG5 enthält keine reparaturfähigen Teile. Das Produkt darf keinesfalls demontiert,
repariert oder modiziert werden.

6. GARANTIE
Die Garantie für das Produkt beträgt 24 Monate ab Auslieferung. Die Reklamation muss
mit einem gültigen, beim Einkauf der Anlage ausgestellten Zahlungsbeweis nachgewiesen
werden. GCE ist verpichtet, repariertes Produkt innerhalb von einem Monat ab seiner
Zustellung zurückzugeben. Die Garantie erlischt, wenn das Produkt modiziert, repariert
wurde oder an ihm Serviceleistungen durch dritte Person ausgeführt wurden, die dazu
vom Hersteller nicht beauftragt und autorisiert wurden, oder wenn das Produkt nicht in
Übereinstimmung mit dieser Bedienungsanleitung angewandt wurde.

POPIS
Pojistka proti zpětnému šlehnutí (suchá předloha) GCE SAFE GUARD 5 (dále jako “FBA”)
je v souladu s normou EN 730 - část 1, Zařízení pro plamenové svařování - Bezpečnostní
zařízení - Část 1: Zahrnující zhášecí vložku. FBA je k dispozici ve dvou variantách, pro kyslík
(0-10 bar - vstup, výstup RH) a hořlavé plyny (acetylén 0-1,5 bar, propan/vodík/metan/zemní
plyn 0-5,0 bar - vstup, výstup LH) a jejich součástí je:
Zhášecí vložka
Zpětný ventil k zamezení zpětného proudění plynu
Tlaková pojistka, která se aktivuje vlnou tlaku doprovázející zpětné hoření
Tepelná pojistka, která se aktivuje se změnou teploty a trvale uzavře přívod plynu.
Resetovací mechanismus, díky kterému zjistíme, zda je tlaková pojistka aktivovaná.
RM také slouží k resetování FBA.
INSTALACE
Nepoužívejte olej či tuk během instalace nebo během používání zařízení.
Při instalaci označte měsíc a rok, kdy má být provedena příští roční kontrola.
1. Ujistěte se, že je resetovací mechanismus RM v otevřené poloze - páka musí být paralelně
s tělem FBA. Pokud je páka vytažená do jiné než paralelní pozice k tělu FBA, stlačte ji
k tělu FBA do paralelní pozice. Nikdy nesmí být bráněno POHYBU PÁKY resetovacího
mechanismu!
2. Zkontrolujte, že parametr výstupního tlaku regulátoru je nižší nebo stejný jako povolený
vstupní tlak do FBA. Následně připojte vstup FBA (1) k výstupu regulátoru.
3. Připojte hadici k výstupu FBA (2), natlakujte systém při zavřených uzavíracích ventilech po
proudu, a zkontrolujte případné netěsnosti odpovídající detekční kapalinou pro používaný
plyn.
4. Po použití FBA pro aplikaci s určitým typem plynu, nesmí být stejná FBA instalována a
použita na zařízení, které je určeno pro jiný typ plynu.
KDYŽ SE FBA AKTIVUJE (PŘERUŠÍ SE PŘÍVOD PLYNU)
1. Vypněte zdroj plynu do FBA. Identikujte důvod pro deaktivaci a opravte.
2. Resetujte jednotku stlačením páky RM dolů, směrem zpět k tělesu FBA. Pokud páku nelze
jednoduše stlačit kvůli nestabilnímu tlaku, povolte vstup/výstup (1/2) pro ustálení tlaku.
Pokud stále není možné jednotku resetovat (páka nedrží v zavřené poloze), pravděpodobně
se trvale uzavřela tepelná pojistka - TV. V tomto případě musí být FBA stažena z provozu,
nahrazeno novou FBA a původní FBA zlikvidována dle místních zákonů.
ÚDRŽBA A SERVIS
Tato FBA neobsahuje žádné opravitelné části.
4.1 PRAVIDELNÉ KONTROLY
Kontrola FBA - funkce tlakové pojistky, průtok, úniky - musí být provedena alespoň jednou
ročně.
POZN.: Pro registraci prvního použití a připomenutí další kontroly označte příslušná data na
štítku umístěného na výrobku.
Ignorování nebo vynechání pravidelné kontroly může vést ke snížené funkčnosti
FBA a/nebo k případnému poškození nebo i ke ztrátě bezpečnostní funkce, které by
nemuselo být rozpoznáno. Bez pravidelných kontrol se výrazně zvyšuje riziko požáru
& exploze.

Kontaktní adresa nejbližšího servisního centra bude poskytnuta na požádání GCE
zástupcem.
4.2 ŽIVOTNOST
Tato FBA má maximální životnost 5 let ode dne první instalace. Způsob a podmínky
používání mají přímý vliv na krácení životnosti, kontaminaci a opotřebení vnitřních částí.
Postupné zanášení ltru FBA může při překročení maximální doby použitelnosti výrobku
způsobit zvýšený odpor proudění plynu, zvýšenou tlakovou ztrátu, snížení spolehlivosti a
zvýšení rizika nehod.
Pro maximální životnost FBA se vychází z faktu, že je FBA používaná v běžném průmyslovém
prostředí bez extrémního mechanického nebo teplotního poškození a že jsou prováděny
pravidelné kontroly FBA.
Maximální doba životnosti neznamená záruční doba produktu.
BEZPEČNOSTNÍ PODMÍNKY
Udržujte ruce a nářadí čisté. Olej a mastnota mohou zapříčinit explozi v kontaktu s
kyslíkem.
Dodržujte pokyny tohoto návodu k použití a návodů všech ostatních použitých
zařízení.
Zkontrolujte, že jsou závity a těsnící plochy v dobrém stavu a po montáži zkontrolujte
těsnost všech spojů na zařízení.
FBA je bezpečnostní zařízení. Pokud si nejste jisti, že je zařízení zcela v pořádku pro
provoz, pak by mělo být vyměněno.
FBA nemá žádné opravitelné části. Produkt nesmí být v žádném případě rozebírán,
opravován či modikován.
FBA je citlivé zařízení, které je smontováno, utěsněno a přezkoušeno výrobcem. V
žádném případě nesmí být rozebíráno, opravováno či modikováno!
ZÁRUKA
Záruka na výrobek je 24 měsíců od data jeho doručení. Reklamace musí být doložena
platným dokladem o zaplacení vystaveným při nákupu zařízení. GCE má povinnost vrátit
opravený produkt do jednoho měsíce od jeho doručení. Záruka pozbývá platnosti, pokud
byl produkt modikován, opravován nebo byl jeho servis proveden servis osobou, která
není zaměstnancem GCE nebo k tomu není pověřena výrobcem, nebo pokud nebyl produkt
používán v souladu s tímto návodem k použití.

DESCRIPCIÓN
El dispositivo anti-retroceso de llama GCE SAFE GUARD 5 (a continuación como SG5 o FBA) esta
diseñado en conformidad con la norma EN 730-1, Equipos para aplicaciones oxigas – Equipo de seguridad
incorporando dispositivos de parada de la llama (que incluye un sinterizado anti-retroceso de
llama, del ingles Flash Back Arrestor). El SG5 está disponible en dos versiones : para oxígeno,
hasta 10 bar (145Psi) y para gases combustibles como acetileno hasta 1,5 bar (22Psi) y propano /
hidrógeno / metano / gas natural hasta 5 bar (72,5Psi).
El SG5 incluye las siguientes funciones:
Sinterizado anti-retroceso de llama (apaga ama)
Válvula anti-retorno de gas (check) para evitar el ujo inverso de gas
Válvula de paro por diferencial de presión que se activa con la onda de presión generada por un
retroceso explosivo o total o en caso de fuga en alta presión..
Válvula térmica que se activa y corta denitivamente el suministro en caso de incendio o de
retroceso sostenido, antes de llegar a al temperatura de auto-ignición del gas.
Mecanismo de reactivación, da la indicación de estado del FBA SG5, y sirve también para su
reactivación o reseteo.
INSTALACIÓN
Nunca usar aceite o grasa durante la instalación o el uso del equipo.
En el momento de su instalación indique el mes y año cuando hay que hacer la próxima
revisión anual.
1. Asegúrese de que el mecanismo de reactivación [RM] está en la posición abierta – la palanca
debe estar en posición paralela, adjunta al cuerpo del FBA. Si la palanca se encuentra en
una posición que no sea paralela al cuerpo de FBA, hay que presionarla hacia al cuerpo del
FBA SG5. ¡Nunca debe ser obstaculizado el MOVIMIENTO DE LA PALANCA del mecanismo
de reactivación!
2. Primero, verique si la presión jada al regulador es inferior o igual a la presión de entrada
nominal admitida del FBA (1). Después, conecte la entrada del FBA SG5 a la salida del
regulador.
3. Conecte la manguera a la salida de FBA (2), presurizar el sistema manteniendo cerradas las
válvulas que se encuentran aguas abajo, en caso necesario, usar el detector de fuga Gazobul
(código: B140303) para comprobar si hay fugas eventuales en el circuito.
4. Una vez el FBA se este usando con cierto tipo de gas, está prohibido instalarlo y usarlo con
otro tipo de gas (puede producirse reacciones químicas generadoras de explosión con los
componentes contenidos en el propano y el acetileno por ejemplo)
CUANDO EL FBA SG5 HA ACTUADO (SE INTERRUMPE EL
SUMINISTRO DE GAS)
1. Cierre el suministro de gas. Identique la razón del problema y motivo de la activación y haga
la reparación o ajuste necesario.
2. Reactivar la unidad empujando la palanca [RM] hacia el cuerpo del FBA SG5. Si no se puede
reactivar oprimiendo la palanca, debido a presiones atrapadas en el sistema, aoje la entrada
/ salida (1/2) para estabilizar la presión. Si aún no se puede reactivar el FBA SG5 (la palanca
no se queda en la posición cerrada), lo más probable es que la válvula térmica se ha cerrado
denitivamente [TV]. En tal caso hay que poner el FBA fuera de servicio y sustituirlo por uno
nuevo. El producto se debe reciclar de acuerdo a las leyes nacionales vigentes.
MANTENIMIENTO Y SERVICIO
Este dispositivo de seguridad no puede ser reparado o modicado por un usuario
4.1 REVISIONES PERIÓDICAS
Revisión de periódica y preventiva de FBA – Por lo menos una vez al año, se debe revisar el
buen funcionamiento de la válvula anti-retroceso de gas, la válvula de diferencial de presión, el
