1 Symbols and means of representation
Warnings
In these instructions, warnings are used to warn against material damage and injuries.
XAlways read and observe these warnings.
XObserve all the measures that are marked with the warning symbol and warning word.

2 Product liability
In accordance with the manufacturer's liability for their products as dened in the German "Produkthaftungsge-
setz" (Product Liability Act), the information contained in this brochure (product information and proper use,
misuse, product performance, product maintenance, obligations to provide information and instructions) is to be
noted and followed. Failure to comply releases the manufacturer from their statutory liability.
3 Safety instructions
3.1 Intended use
The automatic door system ECdrive H is intended for use in medical areas.
The automatic door system ECdrive H is not intended for use in
àescape route doors

3.2 Safety instructions
àThe mandatory installation, maintenance and repair work must be performed by properly trained personnel
authorised by GEZE.
àThe country-specic laws and regulations are to be observed during safety-related tests.
àGEZE shall not be liable for injuries or damage resulting from unauthorised modication of the system.
àGEZE is not liable if products from other manufacturers are used with GEZE equipment.
àFurthermore, only original GEZE parts may be used for repair and maintenance work.
àThe connection to the power supply must be made by a professional electrician. Perform the power connec-
tion and equipment earth conductor test in accordance with VDE 0100 Part 610.
àUse a customer-accessible 10-A overload cut-out as the line-side disconnecting device.
àProtect the display programme switch against unauthorised access.
àIn compliance with Machine Directive 2006/42/EC, a risk analysis must be performed and the door system
identied in accordance with CE Identication Directive 93/68/EEC before the door syste-m is commissioned.

Safety instructions
àObserve the latest versions of guidelines, standards and country-specic regulations, in particular:
àEN16005 “Power operated pedestrian doorsets - Safety in use - Requirements and test methods”
àDIN 18650 “Building hardware - Powered pedestrian doors”
àVDE 0100; Part 610 “Erection of low-voltage installations”
àDIN EN 60335-2-103
àAccident-prevention regulations, especially BGV A1 "Principles of prevention" and BGV A2 “Electrical sys-
tems and equipment”
3.3 Safety conscious working
àSecure workplace against unauthorised entry.
àWatch pivoting range of long system parts.
àNever carry out work with a high safety risk (e.g. installing the drive, cover or door leaf) while alone.
àSecure the cover/drive panels against falling.
àUse only cables prescribed in the cable plan provided. Lay shields in accordance with the wiring diagram.
àSecure loose, internal drive cables with cable ties.
àBefore working on the electrical system:
àDisconnect the drive from the 230 V mains and check to ensure that it is not supplied with power.
àDisconnect the control unit from the 24 V battery.
àNote that if an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is used, the system will still be supplied with power
despite the fact that the power supply is disconnected.
àAlways use insulated wire-end ferrules for wire cores.
àAttach safety stickers to glass door leaves.
àDanger of injury with opened drive. Hair, clothing, cables, etc. can be drawn in by rotating parts!
àDanger of injury through unsecured crushing, impact, drawing-in or shearing spots!
àDanger of injury by broken glass!
àDanger of injury due to sharp edges in the drive!
àDanger of injury during installation through freely moving parts!
3.4 Inspection of the installed system
Measures for security and prevention of pinching, impact, shearing or drawing-in spots:
àCheck the functioning of safety sensors and movement detectors.
àCheck protective earth connection to all metal parts that can be touched.
àPerform a safety analysis (risk analysis).
3.5 Environmentally conscious working
àWhen disposing of the door system, separate the dierent materials and have them recycled.
àDo not dispose of batteries and storage cells with household waste.
àComply with the statutory regulations when disposing of the door system and the batteries/storage cells.

Pre-installation
5 Pre-installation
The up-to-date drive drawing is applicable for the pre-installation work to be carried out. All components must
be identied and installed in accordance with the drive drawing.
5.1 Prepare proles
XFor length and preparation of drive proles, see drive drawing.
5.2 Preparing runner
XPush sliding blocks (1) and earth connectors (2) into the mounting groove in accordance with the drive dia-
gram.
5.3 Mounting the drive components
àRefer to the drive drawing for positioning the components.
àTake the tightening torques of the attachment screws into account (see drive drawing).
5.3.1 Install the return pulley
5.3.2 Install the drive motor
5.3.3 Install rechargeable battery
5.3.4 Install control unit
5.3.5 Mount the toothed belt
XPre-tension toothed belt slightly.
5.3.6 Install transformer
When tightening the threaded rods of the earthing connection, the anodised layer of the module mount must be
pierced.

5.4 Connecting transformer and control unit
Note earthing connection!
Do not mix up cores!
XStrip the three-core cable (2), attach insulated wire-end ferrules
and connect to cable (1) at the transformer (see wiring diagram).
XLay cable (2) to the control unit.
XShorten and strip cable (1) if required.
XAttach the insulated wire-end ferrules and connect to the con-
nector (3) (see wiring diagram)
XConnect the connector (3) to the control unit (4).
5.5 Connecting drive motor and control unit

Pre-installation
XLay rotary transducer cable (2) and motor connection cable (3) to
the control unit.
XInsert the connector into the control unit.
Do not plug rechargeable battery cable into the control unit yet.
The rechargeable battery is not connected to the control until the production test and commissioning.
XCheck whether the rechargeable battery cable (1) is long enough. Extend it using the rechargeable battery
extension cable if necessary.
When carrying out maintenance work, the connection between the battery and control must be disconnected!
XInstall cover on the control unit and engage.
The holding force of the cover can be increased
by slightly bending the cover.
When installing the cover, do not pinch the cables.
5.6 Installing cable holders
CAUTION!
Cables can be cut!
XLay the cables so that there are no cables in the area of moving parts.
XSecure cable holder (1) on running rail.

5.7 Final work
XCheck the position of the assembly groups against the drawing and check tightening torques.
XPerform production test.
XAttach stickers:
àIdentication plate (enter date of manufacture)
àTÜV sticker
Non-mounted parts or remaining assembly groups are prepared during the nal assembly on site:
àAccessories for cover earthing
àBag of xings for locator
àBag of accessories for mounting prole
àDisplay programme switch
àSafety stickers for glass doors

6 Installation
6.1 Preparations on site
Check the preparations made on site by the customer to ensure proper installation:
àType and load capacity of the façade construction or base construction
àEvenness of the installation surface
àCable plan requirements
6.2 Installation
XSecure workplace against unauthorised entry.
XAlways perform work with a second technician.
XUse a stepladder or stepstool.
XKeep inside area of running rail clean.
6.2.1 Installing runner

XDrill the running rail (1) in accordance with the local conditions (see installation diagram).
XDrill the holes on the wall/the screw in accordance with the running rail (1).
XPrepare cable routing in accordance with local conditions.
XScrew on the running rail.
XInstall draught sealing proles according to local conditions (see installation diagram).
XPress rubber seal into the draught sealing proles.
