Description
The 5700 Phase Sequence Indicator will indicate the
presence and phase sequence of 3-phase power, to
ensure correct wiring.
Purpose
This instruction manual is intended to familiarize
operators with the safe operation of the Greenlee
5700 Phase Sequence Indicator.
Specifications

Features
1. Phase Indicator LED’s: Indicate the presence of
each phase of power.
2. CORRECT LED: Indicates correct 3-phase wiring

2. Connect the leads to the 3-phase circuit. Apply
power.
3. All three Phase Indicator LED’s should illuminate.
Note: If all three of the Phase Indicator LED’s do
not illuminate, shut off and lock out the
power. Have the wiring corrected by a
qualified electrician.
Note: One of the Phase Sequence LED’s should be
lit. If the CORRECT LED is lit, the phases
have been correctly identified. If the
INCORRECT LED is lit, disconnect and lock
out power. Switch any two leads, apply
power and retest.

Disconnect power to the circuit. Disconnect the test
instrument from the circuit. Apply power to the
circuit.
Do not connect the phase sequence leads to
more than 700 VAC. Electric shock can result.
Operation
1. Disconnect and lock out power.
Do not attempt to repair this test instrument.
It contains no user-serviceable parts.
Maintenance
Keep the test instrument clean and dry. Replace
leads that are worn or damaged.
Lifetime Limited Warranty
Greenlee warrants to the original purchaser of these
goods for use that these products will be free from
defects in workmanship and material for their useful life,
excepting normal wear and abuse. This warranty is
subject to the same terms and conditions contained in
Greenlee’s standard one year limited warranty.

Mark all packages: Attention TEST INSTRUMENT
REPAIR. For items not covered under warranty (such as
dropped, abused, etc.), repair cost quote available upon
request.
Note: Prior to returning any test instrument, please
check replaceable batteries or make sure the
battery is at full charge.
