WhenthepropaneboleisaachedtotheSu‐VGun,theBoleStand
makesaconvenientplacetosetyourSu‐VGunuprightbeforeandaer
usingit,especiallywhentheFireBellishotandneedstobekeptoffand
awayfromcombusblesurfacesoranysurfacethatwilleasilymarwith
thehotsteeloftheFireBelldirectlyaeruse.

propanefueltank

Safety & Warnings
Read and understand all instrucons and warnings before
aempng to operate this torch.
Proper Usage of Equipment
OnlyusethistorchwithPropaneorMAPPgasesfromvaporwithdrawal
cylinders.Propanecylindersandconnectedpropanebolesmustbe
keptinanuprightposionwhenthetorchisinuse.
Beforeuse,connectpropanefuelsourcetothetorchwithboththeGas
Valve(E)andtheHandleTrigger(BypassValve)(G)closed.Listenfor
gasleaksandsmellforthepresenceofpropaneleakingfromthetorch.
Donotlightthetorchifyoudetectaleak.Haveitservicedbyanau‐
thorizedservicecenterbeforefurtheruse.
When aaching a 1‐lb bole to the Gas Connector, ghten the bole
only enough to come to a so stop against the rubber seal in the Gas
Connector. Over ghtening can damage the Su‐VGun.
LightthetorchonlywiththeinternalignionsystemusingtheFinger
Trigger(F)designedintothetorch.
WhenyouarefinishedusingaSu‐VGunconnectedtoabulkpropane
tankthroughtheadapterhose,youwillneedtodrainoffalltheremain‐
ingpropanegasunderpressureinthehosebeforedisconnecngthe
torch.First,shutoffthepropanetankvalve,andthenlightthetorch
andburnoffalltheremaininggasleinthehoseunltheflamegoes
out.Thendisconnectthehosefromthetorch,replacethevinylprotec‐
vecapontotheGasConnectorandallowthetorchtocoolbefore
pungitaway.
WhenyouarefinishedusingaSu‐VGunconnectedtoa1‐lbfuelbole,
removethefuelboletopreventinadvertentoraccidentaldischargeof
propanefromthetorch.PutthevinylprotecvecapbackontotheGas
Connectorandallowthetorchtocoolbeforepungitaway.
Donotabuse,tamperwith,oraltertheoperaonofthistorchorits
parts.Anyrepairsmustbemadebyaqualifiedrepairtechnicianwho
hastheproperserviceparts,tools,andknowledge.
Whenoperangthetorch,youshouldalwayshaveproperNFPAap‐
provedfireexnguisher(orotherfirefighngequipment)availableto
NEVER PERMIT CHILDREN TO USE THIS TORCH!

exnguishanyunintendedfire.Itshouldbeofatypeandsizeappropri‐
atefortheapplicaon,andyoushouldbetrainedinitsuse.Staynearby
towatchandcontroltheburningmaterial.
Maintainsecurefoongwhenholdingalightedtorchtoavoidtripping
orfalling.
Alwaysdirecttheflamefromthetorchawayfromyourbodyandaway
fromotherpersonswhenthetorchislit.Neverpointthetorchatyour‐
selforotherpersonswhilelighngoroperang.
Neverleavealittorchunaended.TurntheGasValveofftoexnguish
theflamebeforelayingthetorchdown.Ifthetorchhasa1‐lbpropane
boleinstalledontotheGasConnector,setituprightintheBoleStand
withtheFuelBarrelandFireBellorientedtowardsthefrontofthestand
suchthatitwillnotpover,ratherthanlayingitonitsside.Donotlaya
hottorchdownonornearflammablematerial.
NeverblocktheflowofgasorfirecomingfromthefrontoftheFireBell.
Doingthismaycausetheflamedirecontoreverseandexitfromthe
backsideoftheFireBelltowardtheoperatorinsteadofoutthefrontof
theFireBellwhereitisintendedtogo.
WARNINGS: General operaonal
Whenlighngthetorch,flamesWILLcomeoutofthebacksideofthe
FireBell(B)asitignites.KeephandsclearoftheFireBellbothinfront
andinback,whenlighng.
Flamesfromthistorchcancauseseriousburninjuriestoyourskin,hair
andbody.
Usingthistorchonornearflammablematerialorclosedcontainersmay
causeafireorexplosionwhichmaycauseinjuryordeath.
Failuretocontrolyourfirewhileusingthistorchmaycauseinjuryor
propertydamage.
Keepoutofreachofchildrenandirresponsibleadults.
Thistorchisdesignedforindoorandoutdooruse.Useextremecauon
ifusingindoorsasitsflameisintenseandlonganditiseasytoacci‐
dentallycatchanunintendedobjectonfire.
Thistorchisdesignedtocombustvapor‐fueloutputfromanapproved
propanecylinder.Donotallowliquid‐fueltoentertheSu‐VGun.(See
“CheckValve”discussioninSafetyFeaturesonpage16)

theoperanginstrucons.Makesureproductusageisinaccordance
willalllocal,state,andfederallaws.Youareresponsibleforknowing
andabidingbythem.
Donotusethetorchinareaswherecombusblegasesorvaporsmay
bestoredorotherwisepresent.
Donotusethetorchonornearflammablematerialorsealedcontainers
whichmaycauseafireorexplosionresulngininjuryordeath.
Sealedcontainers,evenifempty,mayexplode.Donotusetorchnear
combusblesyoudonotintendtoburn.
Donotusethetorchinwindyorverydrycondionsinwhichthetorch
flameortheamountofmaterialburningmaybedifficulttocontrol.
TheFireBellwillremainveryhotforameaershutdown.DONOT
touchorstoretheequipmentunlithascooled.
AlwaysoperatetheSu‐VGuninanopenandwell‐venlatedareasothat
anypropanethatescapesfromtheSu‐VGunorpropanebolecanbe
exhaustedtotheoutsideair.
ItisnormalwhenconnecngordisconnecngtheSu‐VGuntopropane
tohaveasmallamountofpropaneescapeintotheatmosphere.Aslong
asyouareinanopenandwell‐venlatedarea,thisisnocausefor
alarm;however,ifyouhearescapinggasortheodorofpropaneisper‐
sistent,youmuststopusingtheSu‐VGun.Ifyouareindoors,thenIm‐
mediatelyputoutallsmokingmaterialsandotheropenflames,and
removeittoasafeareaoutsideunlyoucanmorethoroughlyinspectit
anddetermineandeliminatethesourceoftheleak.
Somepeoplemayhavedifficultysmellingpropaneduetotheirage,
medicalcondion,orduetotheeffectsofmedicaon,alcohol,tobacco,
ordrugs.Considerpurchasingapropanegasdetectorasanaddional
measureofsecurity.
Odorfadeisanunintenonalreduconintheconcentraonoftheodor
ofpropane,makingitmoredifficulttosmell.Althoughrare,thiscanbe
causedbythepresenceofair,water,orrustinthecylinder.Newand
recondionedsmallcylindersthatsittoolongbeforebeingfilledare
pronetointernalrustwhenmoistureandairgetinside.Donotuse
them.
WARNINGS: WhenusingtheSu‐VGunfornon‐grillingpurposes
Burningorheangsomematerialscanproducedangerousfumeswhich
maycauseinjurytoyourlungsorotherpartsofyourbody.
