Usage Instructions
CAUTION! Take special care when removing the lid! Hot steam will burn.
HOW TO BOIL WATER:
1. Turn the lid anti-clockwise to open.
2. Fill the tank with tap water. Make sure the water is below the "MAX " water level indicator.
3. Replace the lid and turn clockwise to lock into place.
4. Connect the plug and the socket.
5. Switch ON. The "HEATING" pilot lamp will light up and the water will start to heat up. It will
heat until the "HEATING" pilot lamp goes out and the "KEEP WARM" pilot lamp lights up,
showing that the appliance is in the state of preserving heat.
6. Use the faucet to dispense water.
7. When about three cups of water are remaining in the tank, turn the appliance off and
unplug it from the electric outlet.
8. Always make sure at least three cups of water are remaining in the tank to prevent a
boil-dry accident.
3.RESET THERMAL CUT-OUT:
The appliance is fitted with a dry-protect thermal cutout. If this is activated, the unit will turn
itself off, when no water is in the tank. This can protect the heating elements and the
insides of the machine . The unit must be unplugged before it can be reset. To reset the
appliance, wait until the unit has cooled down. Then press the reset button: the pin-like
device at the bottom of the appliance. The appliance will now work normally.
This safety device may have been switched off during transport, if so, reset the thermal cut-
off following the above instructions.
If resetting this thermal cut-out does not switch the unit back on, please contact the
nearest authorized service facility for examination or repair.
4.CLEANING THE APPLIANCE:
This unit must be cleaned thoroughly after each use. This is in addition to weekly cleaning
using vinegar to remove mineral deposits. If these deposits are not removed, pitting of the
metal can occur and may result in damage to the appliance.
Be sure to unplug the unit, discard any remaining water and allow to cool down before
cleaning.
DISCOLOURATION OF THE WATER TANK:
This is caused by an oxidization of iron content in tap water. It can be removed by using a
nylon brush and by following these simple steps:
▪Cut a lemon into four, wrap the lemon in cloth and place inside the unit.
▪Pour water up to the full water level indicator.
▪Boil the water and let the mixture remain inside the unit for about 1 hour.
▪Pour out the water and use a nylon brush to clean the inner parts.
▪To remove the smell of the lemon, boil water again, and dispose the water.
▪Lid and tank are washable with soap and water.
▪Use a damp cloth to clean the body. Wipe it dry. To avoid scratches to the unit, do not
clean with abrasive materials
▪Don't wash with running water, this can cause malfunction
▪Hard water may cause stone deposits to form in the water tank, lengthening the time
needed o heat water and possibly causing damage to the device. Use filtered water if
possible to avoid deposits forming!
