Inspect the product during unpacking If any damage is found notify the dealer you purchased it from immediately. Should you ever
need to return the unit back to the dealer or HH Electronics, ensure it is well packed and if possible use the original packaging.
Many products have large transient surges at turn on and off which can cause damage to your speakers.
This manual contains important information regarding correct and safe operation of your TENSOR system. Please read it thoroughly
in order to get the best performance and reliability from your HH product.
Following the sequence below for power-up and the reverse for power down will prevent this from occurring.
The HH TENSOR engineered in the UK to deliver power, performance and reliability.
The Class-D amplifier delivers impressive output performance in an optimally ported yet compact wooden enclosure. The active
variable crossover allows adjustable tuning at lower frequencies and two acoustically tuned audio modes provide solutions for a
multitude of applications. Dual balanced XLR inputs support stereo line level input which can be easily be daisy chained to other
TENSOR subwoofers (or other suitable devices). Balanced XLR high-pass outputs allow for direct connection to Full-Range and
HF loudspeakers without the need for complex crossovers or EQ. Comprehensive on-board protection reduces the risk of
electronic overload resulting in damage to internal components. All enclosed in an acoustically treated lightweight wooden
enclosure, with acoustic foam backed steel front grille, a front LED logo and 35mm pole mount.

1. INPUTS: Accept balanced and non-blanaced Line level inputs signals compatible with XLRs. The balanced input provides
superior noise rejection when using balanced signals over long cable runs.
2. LINK OUT: Output XLR's are hard wired to their corresponding INPUT XLR. These connections can be used to daisy chain
additional TENSOR cabinets.
3. CROSSOVER: This controls the frequency range supplied to the onboard loudspeaker. It doesn’t have any effect on the signal
from the High Pass Output connectors.
5. POWER: The LED illuminates when the unit it connected to a suitable mains source and the Power Switch is set to on.
4. CLIP: The LED will illuminate when a signal is approaching the clipping point. Reduce the Level/Gain control on connected
devices to prevent this. It is worth noting that a clipped signal, apart from sounding bad will not cause damage to the Power
amplifier because of the on-board limiter.
6. VOLUME: Use to set the overall output level of the unit. This control does not have an effect on the audio level from the Left
and Right HIGH PASS OUTPUTS.
10. PHASE: Use to provide a 180º phase shift at the loudspeaker output and can be used to correct phase problems when
multiple cabinets are used. Phase problems are evident in the form of reduced or lack of bass. The phase control does not effect
the HIGH PASS OUTPUTS.
8. GROUND LINK: This will effectively disconnect the signal ground from the chassis ground and is useful for removing
potential earth loops. Earth loop problems can be detected by the presence of hum from the loudspeakers.
9. SHAPE: The shape function changes the tonal character of the subwoofer. When Depressed, it provides a flat bass response,
but delivers a boost around 80Hz and punchy low end characteristic when engaged.
7. HIGH PASS OUTPUTS: With a cut-off frequency of 95Hz the two balanced connections allow for additional full range
cabinets (such as the TRE-1201 or TRE-1501) to be added to the system. They are not suitable for connecting additional sub-
woofers. It is worth noting that the signals from the INPUTS to the HIGH PASS OUTPUTS are true Stereo and combined
with other cabinets allow for a stereo system. For more information, have a look at the sample setups on page 5.

14. VOLTAGE SELECT SWITCH: Please check the voltage
setting to your region before powering up for the first time.

connection of an appropriate mains lead. Only replace the fuse
with the type indicated on the rear panel.
16. POLE MOUNT: Both the TRS-1500 and TRS-1800 are
equipped with 35mm pole socket.

After unpacking your amplifier check that it is factory fitted with a three pin
'grounded' (or earthed) plug. Before plugging into the power supply ensure you are
connecting to a grounded earth outlet.
If you should wish to change the factory fitted plug yourself, ensure that the wiring
convention applicable to the country where the amplifier is to be used is strictly
conformed to. As an example in the United Kingdom the cable colour code for
connections are shown opposite.
