Towing$Safety$$
ALWAYS!check!all!local!and!state!regulations!regarding!towing,!
licensing,!and!lights!before!towing!your!log!splitter.!!
ALWAYS!check!before!towing!to!make!sure!that!the!log!splitter!is!
correctly!and!securely!attached!to!the!towing!vehicles!and!that!the!
safety!chains!are!secured!to!the!hitch!or!bumper!of!the!vehicle!with!
enough!slack!to!allow!turning.!Always!use!a!Class!I,!2”!ball!with!this!log!
splitter.!!
NEVER!carry!any!cargo!or!wood!on!your!log!splitter.!!
NEVER!allow!anyone!to!sit!or!ride!on!your!log!splitter.!!
ALWAYS!disconnect!your!log!splitter!from!the!towing!vehicle!before!
operating!it.!!
ALWAYS!be!careful!when!backing!up!with!your!log!splitter!in!tow.!It!
could!jackknife.!!

NEVER!exceed!45mph!when!towing!your!log!splitter.!Towing!the!log!
splitter!at!speeds!higher!than!45mph!could!result!in!loss!of!control,!
damage!to!the!equipment,!serious!injury!or!death.!Adjust!towing!speed!
for!terrain!and!conditions.!Be!extra!cautious!when!towing!over!rough!
terrain!especially!railroad!crossings.!!

Hydraulic$Safety$$
The!hydraulic!system!of!your!log!splitter!requires!careful!inspection!
along!with!the!mechanical!parts.!Be!sure!to!replace!frayed,!kinked,!
cracked!or!otherwise!damaged!hydraulic!hoses!or!hydraulic!
components.!!
NEVER!check!for!leaks!of!hydraulic!fluid!with!your!hand.!Fluid!escaping!
from!a!small!hole!can!be!almost!invisible.!Escaping!fluid!under!pressure!
can!have!sufficient!force!to!penetrate!skin!causing!serious!personal!
injury!or!even!death.!Leaks!can!be!detected!by!passing!a!piece!of!
cardboard!over!the!suspected!leak!and!looking!for!discoloration.!!
ALWAYS!seek!professional!medical!attention!immediately!if!injured!by!
escaping!hydraulic!fluid.!Serious!infection!or!reaction!can!develop!if!
proper!medical!treatment!is!not!administered!immediately.!!
ALWAYS!be!sure!to!relieve!all!pressure!by!shutting!off!the!engine!and!
moving!the!valve!control!handle!back!and!forth!should!it!become!
necessary!to!loosen!or!remove!any!hydraulic!fitting.!!
NEVER!remove!the!cap!from!the!hydraulic!tank!or!reservoir!while!the!
log!splitter!is!running.!The!tank!could!contain!hot!oil!under!pressure,!
which!could!result!in!serious!injury.!!
NEVER!adjust!the!hydraulic!valve.!The!pressure!relief!valve!on!your!log!
splitter!is!preset!at!the!factory.!Only!a!qualified!service!technician!
should!perform!this!adjustment.!!

Please!read!engine!manual!for!operating!and!maintenance!instructions.!!
Always!check!the!oil!level!of!the!hydraulic!reservoir!before!operation.!!

Change!the!oil!filter!after!the!first!25!hours!of!operation.!There!after!
change!the!oil!filter!every!100!hours!or!seasonally,!whichever!comes!
first.!!
To!drain!the!hydraulic!oil,!remove!drain!plus!located!on!the!underneath!
of!tank.!Please!check!parts!list!for!reference.!!
If!the!wedge!becomes!dull!or!nicked,!it!can!be!removed!and!sharpened.!
The!hose!from!the!valve!may!need!to!be!removed.!!
Clean!the!breather!cap!after!25!hours!of!operation.!Clean!it!more!often!
when!operated!in!dusty!conditions.!To!clean,!remove!the!breather!cap!
from!the!tank!and!flush!with!kerosene!or!liquid!detergent!to!remove!the!
dirt.!!
After!performing!any!maintenance,!make!sure!all!guards,!shields!and!
safety!features!are!put!back!in!place!before!operating!the!log!splitter.!!
Make!sure!the!tires!have!the!recommended!tire!pressure.!!
Regularly!grease!axle!and!wheel!bearing!area!or!when!needed.!
Periodically!check!all!fasteners!and!hoses!for!tightness!and!leaks.!!
Periodically!clean!and!lightly!lubricate!all!moving!parts!or!when!needed.!!
Inspect!hoses!for!exposed!wire!mesh!and!leaks.!Replace!all!worn!or!
damaged!hoses!before!starting!the!engine.!!
Inspect!fitting!for!cracks!and!leaks.!Replace!all!damaged!fittings!before!
starting!engine.!!

Storage$$
Make!sure!the!log!splitter!is!clean!and!dry!before!storing.!!
Lightly!lubricate!all!log!splitter!surfaces!and!moving!parts!to!prevent!
rust.!!
Store!in-doors!or!protected!area!during!severe!weather!and!winter!
months.!!
Store!with!wedge!in!the!retracted!position.!

Note:!This!log!splitter!is!partially!assembled!at!the!factory.!Please!follow!the!steps!
below.!!

Step$1:$Wheel$Assembly$$
Attach!the!wheel!(#51)!to!the!oil!tank!axle!and!tighten!the!wheel!with!
the!hex!slotted!nut!(#52).!Lock!the!hex!slotted!nut!(#52)!in!place!using!
the!cotter!pin!(#50).!Install!the!axle!cap!on!the!end!using!rubber!
hammer.!!

Warning:!After!the!slotted!nut!is!tightened,!turn!back!¼!circle!to!make!
sure!the!wheel!can!rotate!smoothly!and!freely.!Failure!to!turn!the!
slotted!nut!back!will!cause!the!wheel!damage!to!wheel!bearing.!

Step$2:$Support$Leg$to$the$Tow$Bar$$
Attach!the!“Y”!Stand!(#5)!to!the!tow!bar!(#10)!secure!using!a!hex!bolt!
(#9),!flat!washer!(#8),!lock!nut!(#7),!and!lock!pin!(#6).!!

Step$3:$Attach$Tow$Bar$to$the$Hydraulic$Tank$$
Attach!the!tow!bar!(#10)!to!the!hydraulic!tank!(#38)!and!secure!using!
two!hex!bolt!(#37),!flat!washer!(#3),!and!lock!nut!(#4).!!

Step$4:$Attach$the$beam$assembly$$
Attach!the!beam!assembly!(#18)!to!the!hydraulic!tank!(#38)!and!secure!
using!the!hinge!pin!(34),!flat!washer!(#36),!and!cotter!pin!(#35).!
!
Step$5:$Engine$Assembly$$
Place!the!four!isolation!mounts!(#55)!between!the!mounting!plate!and!
engine.!!
Position!the!engine!(#53)!over!the!isolation!mounts!and!secures!it!to!the!
mount!plate!put!the!hex!bolt!(#54),!and!flat!washer!(#24)!through!the!
bottom!of!the!plate.!Place!a!flat!washer!(#124!and!tighten!the!lock!nut!
(#28).!!

Step$6:$Attach$log$table$
Attach!the!log!table!(#32)!to!the!engine!side!of!beam!(#18)!and!secure!
using!the!hex!bolt!(#31),!flat!washer!(#8),!and!lock!nut!(#7).!!

Step$7:$Attach$Hydraulic$Hose$
Connect!hydraulic!hose!according!to!the!picture!below.!!

all!power!equipment,!a!log!splitter!can!be!dangerous!if!assembled!or!used!
improperly.!Don’t!operate!this!log!splitter!if!you!have!concerns!about!safety.!Call!our!
customer!service!department!to!address!these!concerns.!!

Caution:!Don’t!start!or!run!the!engine!before!adding!oil!in!the!hydraulic!reservoir!
and!oil!in!the!engine.!
!
Step$1:!The!hydraulic!reservoir!must!be!filled!with!the!oil!provided.!AW32!
hydraulic!oil!is!highly!recommended.!Automatic!transmission!fluid!can!be!
substituted!instead!of!hydraulic!oil!when!temperatures!are!below!32!degree!F!for!
easier!starting.!Use!only!clean!oil!and!take!care!to!prevent!dirt!from!entering!the!

hydraulic!reservoir.!Please!check!the!tank!window!to!fill!properly.!Fill!about!20!
ounces!of!engine!oil.!See!engine!manual!for!oil!caution.!

Caution:!When!tightening!the!breather!cap!on!the!tank,!point!the!hole!away!from!
the!engine!
!
Step$2:!Start!the!engine.!The!hydraulic!pump!should!prime!itself.!With!
the!engine!running,!move!the!hydraulic!valve!lever!toward!the!wedge.!
When!the!cylinder!is!fully!extended,!retract!it.!Replace!this!operation!for!
a!few!times!before!splitting.!!
!
Caution:!If!the!tank!is!overfilled,!it!will!expel!oil!from!the!breather!cap.!If!
the!tank!needs!more!hydraulic!oil,!you!will!see!foam!through!the!
hydraulic!hose!connected!between!tank!and!log!splitter!pump.!Due!to!
the!special!cylinder!for!hyper!split,!the!engine!may!have!some!loud!
noise!when!the!cylinder!is!retracting.!This!is!normal!situation.!You!can!
continue!using!this!log!splitter!without!any!issue.!!
!
STARTING$INSTRUCTIONS$
• Make!sure!the!log!splitter!valve!is!at!neutral!position.!!
• Move!control!lever!to!“OK”!
• Move!chock!lever!to!choice!position.!!
• Grasp!starter!rope!handle!and!pull!out!slowly!until!resistance!is!
felt.!Then!pull!rapidly!with!a!full!stroke.!Repeat!the!last!step!if!
engine!fails!to!start.!!
• When!engine!starts,!leave!control!lever!at!“FAST”.!The!throttle!
must!be!in!the!“FAST”!position!for!maximum!performance.!!
• To!stop!engine,!move!the!throttle!lever!to!“Slow”!and!then!to!
“STOP”.!
!
Step$3:!For!horizontal!operation,!please!a!log!on!the!beam!against!the!
footplate.!Make!sure!the!log!sits!securely!on!the!footplate.!To!split!wood!
in!the!vertical!position,!release!the!beam!lock!pin!on!the!beam!located!
near!the!front!end!of!the!beam.!Carefully!tilt!the!beam!up!until!the!
footplate!is!sitting!squarely!on!the!ground!and!the!log!splitter!is!stable.!
When!the!beam!is!returned!to!the!horizontal!position!makes!sure!the!
beam!is!securely!locked!down.!!
