T30v Torch Lead Replacement
Replace the torch lead
Remove the power supply cover and component barrier
1. Set the power switch to OFF (O), disconnect the power cord from the power source, and disconnect the gas supply.
2. Remove the two screws from the handle on the top of the power supply. Gently pull on the panel nearest the screw
you are removing to keep pressure on the screw. When the screw is almost out, tilt the screwdriver slightly to help
pull the screw out of the recessed hole.
3. Slightly tip the front and rear panels away from the power supply so that you can get the edges of the handle out from
underneath them. Remove the handle, and set it and the two screws aside.
4. Continue to tilt the panels outward to release the fan side of the cover from its track. Then lift the cover off the power
supply.
5. Remove the component barrier from the power board side of the power supply. The barrier is flexible and can be bent
slightly for removal.

Disconnect the lead from the power supply
1. Compress the hose fitting collar and pull the hose from the fitting to remove the gas hose from the solenoid valve.
2. Loosen the strain relief nut on the outside of the front panel.
3. Carefully tilt the front panel away from the power supply. Locate the 3-pin connector at the TORCH START slot (J12)
on the power board (on the side facing the heatsink) where the orange, blue, and purple wires from the torch lead
connect.

4. Remove the connector at J12 by pressing up on the tab in the connection slot with a small blade screwdriver and
then pulling the connector out toward the power supply’s front panel.
5. The white wire group and the red wire group from the torch lead are secured to studs in the power supply’s center
panel on the fan side of the power supply. Use an 8 mm (5/16 inch) nut driver to remove the nuts from the studs, and
slide the ring terminals off the studs.
6. On the inside of the front panel, unscrew the retaining nut on the torch lead’s strain relief so that the torch lead moves
freely.
7. Remove the torch lead by pulling the wires and gas supply line through the hole in the front panel. Remove the strain
relief from the front panel as you remove the lead.

T30v Torch Lead Replacement
Remove the torch from the lead
1. Remove the consumables from the torch.
2. Place the torch on a flat surface with the left side of the handle facing up.
The left side of the handle is the side with the screws.
3. Remove the screws from the torch handle. Set the screws aside.
4. Being careful to keep the trigger spring from launching out of the handle, lift the left side of the handle away from the
torch.
5. While holding the spring in place, slide the trigger and spring up and out of the handle. Set them aside.
6. The torch body fits snugly into the right side of the handle. While holding the torch body in place, gently press the
right side of the handle away from the torch body to remove it.

T30v Torch Lead Replacement
Install the torch onto the new lead
1. Thread the torch body onto the new torch lead with the 8 mm (5/16 inch) and 10 mm (3/8 inch) wrenches.
2. Connect the blue and orange wires from the new lead to the cap-sensor switch.

torch power wire to the torch body until the terminal is snug against the plunger.
5. Adjust the ring terminal so that the seam faces away from the screw and the cable rests about 15 degrees above
horizontal.
6. Lay the right side of the handle on a flat surface with the inside facing up.
7. Press the start switch onto the two mounting posts, and position the wires below the slot for the gas fitting.
8. Lay the cap-sensor switch’s wires and wire connector above the start switch with the wires positioned above the slot
for the gas hose’s fitting.

10. Align the cap-sensor switch with the handle and the torch head so that the tip of the switch will not hit the torch head
as you put it in place. Gently press the cap-sensor switch onto its mounting post in the handle. The tip of the
cap-sensor switch should rest just above the cap-sense plunger on the torch head, and the post on the back of the
cap-sensor switch should slide into the hole in the handle.
11 . Verify that the plunger moves freely in the torch head. If it does not, check the angle of the ring connector for the
torch’s power cable.
12. Compress the trigger spring into the front half of the trigger. Slide the trigger and the spring into place.
13. Being careful that the handle does not pinch the wires, align the left half of the handle with the right half. Verify that
the trigger pivots are both located in the trigger pivot holes.
14. Install the handle screws.
15. Install the consumables.
