Thank you for purchasing the iD28. Designed specifically to work with your iPhone, iPad and iPod, and with iHome apps like
iHome+sleep and iHome+radio this system provides high quality audio performance that brings out the best in your music
and lets you wake and sleep to it anywhere. These instructions do not cover the use of apps. For more on using this unit with
iHome apps, please visit iHomeaudio.com/apps or look for iHome in the App Store.
Please read these instructions carefully before operating the unit and keep them for future reference.
Connect AC Adaptor
Connect the AC adaptor cable plug into the DC jack on the back of the system, then plug the AC adaptor into a working
outlet. While connected to AC power, the iD28 will charge your docked iPhone, iPad or iPod as well as the internal lithium ion
battery until fully charged.
Installing/Replacing the Clock Backup Battery
Note: The CR2032 lithium battery is included in the unit. Please pull out the battery pull tab before you use the unit.
This model is equipped with a battery backup circuit that will maintain the time and alarm time settings, as well as the radio
station preset memory settings and EQ settings in the event of a temporary power interruption. The battery backup circuit will
also operate the buzzer alarm to wake you up even if the power is out at the selected wake up time. The battery backup
circuit requires one CR2032 lithium battery, included.
When the backup battery is getting weak the Low Backup Battery Indicator will begin flashing in the display. When you see
this flashing indicator you should replace the backup battery as soon as possible. Purchase a replacement CR2032 battery,
available wherever batteries are sold, and follow steps 1 through 4 below to install the replacement battery.
To replace the backup battery:
IMPORTANT: When replacing the backup battery be sure to have the unit connected to the AC outlet to maintain all of your
settings, otherwise it will be necessary to reset the time, alarm time, radio presets, and EQ settings after the
battery is replaced.
1. Locate the battery backup holder found on the rear of the unit towards the top center.
2. Pinch the locking tab on the right of the battery holder toward the center of the battery
holder to unlock it and insert a thumbnail into the slot in and pry gently outwards to
remove the battery holder.
3. Insert a fresh CR2032 battery in the backup battery holder with the “+” side facing up, as
illustrated.
4. Replace the battery holder and confirm that the backup battery indicator is not
flashing in the display.
Note: Make sure you dispose of battery properly (see your local regulations).
WARNING: Lithium batteries can explode or cause burns if disassembled, shorted, recharged, exposed to water, fire,
or high temperatures. Do not place loose batteries in a pocket, purse, or other container containing metal
objects, mix with used or other battery types, or store with hazardous or combustible materials. Store in
cool, dry, ventilated area. Follow applicable laws and regulations for transport and disposal.
Getting Started

Your unit comes with an internal lithium ion battery for portable operation. As noted above, the internal battery charges when
the unit is connected to AC power. A battery status indicator is located to the right of the clock display. When the indicator
is low and flashing, you will need to connect the unit to AC power to recharge the battery. When the indicator is full and steady
(not flashing), the battery is fully charged.
End-Of-Life Battery Disposal Instructions
This device uses a Lithium-ion battery that should last the lifetime of the device. If you suspect your battery may be dead, try
charging it several times. If the battery does not recharge, please contact us for repair information. Please do NOT attempt
to change the battery yourself. If the battery has died and you do not want us to replace your battery, you should follow the
disposal instructions below.
Consult local laws and regulations for proper battery disposal in your region. If there are no local regulations concerning
battery disposal, please dispose of the device in a waste bin for electronic devices.
Caution: The Battery used in this device may present a risk of fire, explosion or chemical burn if mistreated
Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire, or the like. Do not use or charge the battery if it appears
to be leaking, discolored, deformed, or in any way abnormal. Do not leave your battery discharged or unused for extended
periods of time. When batteries are misused, they may explode or leak, causing burns and personal injury. If your battery
leaks, use normal precaution and discard the battery immediately.
Your iD28 was designed with a special surge protection circuit to prevent permanent damage
to the unit in the event of an unexpected power surge. If your unit appears to be ‘locked up’
and is not operating normally, and you know that the battery is properly charged, use a
straightened paper clip, toothpick, or similar object to press the RESET button, located on the
back panel next to the AC jack. This will unlock the unit and restore the original factory default
settings.
