InfiNetWireless routersare generallyused tocreate geographicallyspread FBWA
transportnetworks. Initsmostbasicform,awirelessnetworkbuiltwithInfiNet
Wirelessroutersconsistsofabase stationandmultiplesubscriberunitsdeployed
oneat each endofthewirelesslinks.Theradiolinkoperatesonasingle
frequencychannelusingTimeDivisionDuplex(TDD)anddynamicadaptive
pollingMAC protocol.Thedifferencebetweenabasestationunitandsubscriber
unitisamatter ofconfigurationandCPUperformance.Bothdeviceshavethe
samecommonsoftware feature setandthesamecommonhardware platform.
TheInfiNetWirelesssoftware isnotlogicallylimitedtothenumber ofwired
hostsonthe subscriber LAN.
