1. PRESENTATION
We would like to congratulate you on your choice of the ALISON reverse osmosis unit. Water quality is
steadily deteriorating. In response to this, we have manufactured this small and compact domnestic osmosis
unit in order that you may have access to pure, balanced water of the highest quality. Share the pure water
produced by your ALISON reverse osmosis unit with your family and friends and recommend them to install
a unit in their homes.
Your ALISON offers you a number of key features:
•It is a physical system which does not use chemical products.
•It provides high-quality water (see technical specifications).
•It ensures high production (see technical specifications).
•Maintenance costs are low.
•It is quick and simple to install.
•The unit is cornpact and attractively designed.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO READ THlS MANUAL AND KEEP IT IN A SAFE PLACE.

2.1. WHAT IS REVERSE OSMOSIS?
It is the best method currently available for producing pure water by means of a physical system (without the
use of chemical products). Its principle of operation is the same as that of the human body, in which water is
distributed through natural osmosis, which separates the impurities from the water purifying it.
A high percentage of the human body is composed of water:
- Women: 55-65%
- Men: 65-75%
- Children: 80%
The body of an adult contains between 38 and 48 litres of water, 40% of which can be found in the cells. This
water in the body, which is almost completely recycled every two weeks, plays a fundamental role in the
transportation of nutrients and oxygen to the cells, the elimination of waste and control of the body temperature.
Every day we consume an average of 2.2 litres of water, including the water contained in food.
2.2. HOW DOES THE MEMBRANE OF YOUR ALISON REVERSE OSMOSIS WORKS ?
Let us try to explain the principle of reverse osmosis easily.
Th e wa te r ex er ts pr es su re on a se m i- pe rm ea bl e
membrane, so that part of the water will go through the
pores of the membrane (pure or osmotized water), while
the remainder (rejected or concentrated water) will be
diverted to the drain.
Given that the diameter of the pores of the membrane is
less than 0.0001 microns, only the pure water and a
balanced quantity of minerals (sodium, potassium, calcium,
magnesium, etc.) will be able to pass through it, while the
excess of minerals not required by the body will be
eliminated during the process, together with bacteria,
viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, chemical products, etc.
2. INTRODUCTION
THE ALISON REVERSE OSMOSIS UNlTS OFFER YOU A BETTER QUALITY OF LlFE
You will notice an improvement in the taste of your drinking water, and you can prepare better coffee, ice
cubes and juices. Cooking with the purified water will improve the taste of food, and the water will be healthier
for your children and good for your plants. It is very healthy for patients suffering from hypertension, since this
water is low in minerals. Ideal for steam irons and dehumidifiers, osmotized water will help to prolong the life
of your household appliances.

2.3. WATER POLLUTION
__ Water is becoming more and more polluted due to domestic, agricultural and industrial waste.
__ Domestic waste (human waste, waste water, chemical cleaning products), which has increased
considerably due to the growing number of towns and villages near the traditional courses of rivers,
often ends up in natural aquifers.
__ Agricultural waste, such as animal excrement and feed waste, chemical fertilizers, nitrates, herbicides
and pesticides, in addition to industrial waste, is increasingly found in natural aquifers.
__ The supply companies filter the water and add chemical products to it (chlorine, for example) to
disinfect it and in this way avoid infectious diseases such as typhus fever, diphtheria, etc.
__ Therefore, the water that we receive in our homes may contain traces of chemical products and
chlorination, such as trihalomethanes, which are harmful to our health, in addition to sodium, calcium
and other minerals in excessive quantities.

3. UNPACKING AND COMPONENTS
__ Remove the equipment from the cardboard box.
__ Take out the components and throw away the plastic bags, since they may be a danger to children.
__ Take all the packing materials, which are 100% recyclable, to a suitable container.
__ The unit has been made with recyclable material. When the unit is scrapped, the electric power cable
must be cut off.
__ Never abandon the unit in the environment; it should be taken to a special material recovery centre
where it can be recycled in accordance with the local regulations in force.

5. WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OF ALISON REVERSE OSMOSlS UNlTS
1- The ALISON reverse osmosis unit is NOT a bacteriological unit that makes water drinkable.
2- Do not connect with hot water (> 45°)
3- In the case of the ALISON model, the pressure must be more than 3 kg/cm2and less than 6 kg/cm2. If
it is less than 3 kg/cm2, the ALISON PUMP model must be installed. The range of pressure of the
ALISON PUMP is between 1 and 3 kg/cm2; in case of higher pressures, fit a pressure regulator.
4- The maximum salinity to be treated is 2.000 ppm.
5- The temperature of environment must be more than 4°C and less than 45°C.
6- Before using the unit, it is necessary to start it up, disinfect it and empty completely the system twice.
7- Should you be away from home for some time, close the intake valve and empty the unit. When you
come back, open the valve again and empty the system twice. After a long period in which the unit has
not been in operation, contact your ALISON distributor so that the equipment may be disinfected.
8- If you wish to supply another consumption point with osmotized water, such as an American-style
refrigerator, a second tap, etc., never use metal piping, because it will make the water taste bad: always
use a plastic pipe (Ref. 2720).

7. OPERATION OF ALISON AND FLOWCHART
The water coming from the public supply runs through connection kit (1) and flows through cut solenoid
valve (2). From here goes to the water pre-treatment crossing a 5µ sediment filter(3) and two activated
carbon filters (4 y5), where the floating substances as well as chlorine and its byproducts are eliminated,
together with some organics substances.
