Safety Precautions
To achieve the best performance from your Jasmine LP4.0 Tube
MM/MC Phono Preamplifier, and for your safety, please read
and follow these important safety instructions:
Never place the Jasmine LP4.0 near heat sources such as
radiators, fireplaces, stoves, or other appliances that produce
heat. Avoid placing the Jasmine LP4.0 where it will be subject
to direct sunlight or low temperatures.
AC extension cords are not recommended for use with this
product. If an extension cord must be used, be sure it is an
approved type and has sufficient current carrying capacity for
this product.
Before cleaning the Jasmine LP4.0, always disconnect the
power supply cord. Use a soft cloth and if necessary, dampen
with clean water or mild cleaning agent. Never apply water, or
any other cleaner, directly to the chassis.
If you smell smoke or an abnormal smell, immediately
unplug the Jasmine LP4.0 from the power supply and contact
your Jasmine dealer.
Never attempt to do service on the Jasmine LP4.0 beyond
what is described in this Owner’s Manual. Qualified service
personnel should perform all repairs.
Unplug unit if it becomes wet.
Do not open unit when attached to AC outlet; dangerous
voltages may be encountered.
Replace fuse only with the exact type originally included.

congratulations to you for purchasing the Jasmine LP4.0. We
sincerely believe that your Jasmine LP4.0 is an intelligent
purchase decision that will bring you many years of musical
pleasure and satisfaction. While every new owner is anxious
to begin listening, we encourage you to take a few minutes
to read this manual and familiarize yourself with the full
capabilities of the Jasmine LP4.0 .
To reduce the risk of injury or damage to your Jasmine LP4.0,
please read the safety instructions on the first page of this
manual. In addition, please pay particular attention to the
sections of this manual where the symbol at left is shown.

Installation _ _
This section includes information on how to unpack and
position your Jasmine LP4.0 Tube Phono Preamplifier.
Unpacking
After carefully unpacking your Jasmine LP4.0, inspect for any
shipping damage and call your dealer immediately if any is
found. Do not plug your Jasmine LP4.0 into any outlet if you
find shipping damage.
Please save all packing materials so the unit can be easily and
safely shipped if the need arises.
The Accessory Kit
Included in the carton, you will find an accessory kit that
contains the following:
AC power cord
Power interconnect cord
LP4.0 Power Supply
LP4.0 Phono Preamplifier Host
Placing Jasmine phono pre-amplifier
For best performance, place the Jasmine LP4.0 on a solid,
non-resonant shelf, away from interference sources.

Connections
This section provides instructions to connect the Jasmine
LP4.0 to your HIFI system. Below is an illustration of the
Jasmine LP4.0 front and rear panel, showing all inputs and
outputs .

To prevent static shocks, please touch any grounded surface
before connecting or removing a cable, such as the metal
chassis of a device that is plugged into an AC socket.
Please switch off the AC power of LP4.0 before you connect
any Input and output cables.

Connecting to AC Power
Check to make sure your Jasmine LP4.0 has been settled for
operation at your local AC voltage mode. Attempting to use
your Jasmine LP4.0 at any voltage other than that showed on
the rear panel of the LP4.0 power unit may cause damage
that is not covered by Jasmine’s warranty.
Jasmine AC Power Mode:
The 230V mode is suitable for using in 210 ~ 240V voltage
environment.
The 115V mode is suitable for using in 100 ~ 130V voltage
environment.
Connecting to Turntable
Generally, When you connect the signal output cable of your
turntable to the input connector of Jasmine LP4.0, Please be
sure that the ground spade of the signal cable also be
connected on the ground terminal of Jasmine LP4.0 at same
time. Otherwise, maybe cause continuous background noise
coming with music.
But, if your turntable already directly grounded through the
AC power cable of your turntable, please leave the ground
spade free.
Connecting to Amplifiers
The output of Jasmine LP4.0 can be directly connected to
pre-amplifier or integrated amplifier.
Because LP4.0 has no the volume control function , so don’t
directly connect the LP4.0 output to any power amplifier, too
large volume maybe burn down your speakers.

Operation
This section describes how to operate the Jasmine LP4.0
Phono Pre-Amplifier.
MM or MC mode setting
Please select the correct running mode according to the
phono cartridge type by the Cartridge type switch on the
front panel.
For some high output MC cartridges, it need 47KΩload
impedance. In this situation. Please select MM running
model. In MM model, the impedance of Jasmine LP4.0 is
fixed at 47KΩ.
Setting Load Impedance
The load impedance switch is only available for MC running
model.
Please refer to your cartridge parameters to choose a right
impedance value by Load Impedance selector on the front
panel. The load impedance have to be greater than 5 times
of the internal resistance value of the cartridge at least.
Inappropriate load impedance value will cause a distorted
sound.
Gains
RCA and XLR balanced output of Jasmine LP4.0 own different
gain value:
RCA Gains : MM=45dB, MC= 68dB
XLR Gains : MM= 50dB, MC=73dB

Ground Lift Switch
LP4.0 own a ground lift switch on the rear panel. This switch
can change the ground mode of signal and chassis of LP4.0. If
you encounter the heavy background noise problem, Please
toggle the switch, in most case , that will solve the noise
problem.
Powering On & Off Sequence
The correct power-on and power-off sequence will lengthen
the life of your HI-FI system.
Power On Sequence
Turntable --> Phono Pre-Amplifier --> Pre-Amplifier -->
Power Amplifier.
Turntable--> Phono Pre-Amplifier --> Integrated
Amplifier.
Power Off Sequence
Power Amplifier --> Pre-Amplifier--> Phono
Pre-Amplifier--> Turntable
Integrated Amplifier--> Phono Pre-Amplifier-->Turntable
