possible causes, and suggested solutions.
IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION
Observe the following installation notes:
• Perform the installation only if you are a member of qualified service
personnel.
• Conform to all local codes.
• Install equipment in a manner that prevents unintentional operation by
employees, cleaning personnel, or others working in the premises, as well
as by falling objects, customers, building vibration, or similar causes.
• To ensure proper operation, test the system and any batteries at least once
per year.

IMPORTANT: To prevent premature loss of battery power, maintain batteries at an
ambient temperature of between 32 and 120°F (0–49°C).
IMPORTANT: Ensure that all wiring is routed and secured to prevent accidental
open or short circuit conditions.
IMPORTANT: Replace fuses only with fuses of the same type and rating.
FLEXPOWER POWER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM STANDARD FEATURES
FlexPower’s advanced feature set provides greater product reliability, increased
flexibility, shorter installation time, a smaller service inventory, and an
intelligent, economical solution to the problem of reliable system power:
• VSelect®
A single switch for configuring the output between 12 and 24 VDC
eliminates field errors and helps reduce and simplify service inventory by
eliminating the need to stock units in each voltage.
• TruWatt®
The output power capability of the power supply remains constant
regardless of the output voltage setting. For example, a FlexPower 150 watt
supply provides 6 amperes at 24 VDC and 12 amperes at 12 VDC, allowing
you to use the same number of locking devices at either setting.
WARNING: Risk of Electric Shock or Fire.
Do not expose this equipment to rain or moisture. Doing so may
result in electric shock or fire.
CAUTION: Risk of Damage to the System and Voided
Warranty.
Do not use the power supply with a 230 VAC input unless the
input voltage selection jumper (JP1) is cut and removed. Failure
to cut and remove the jumper may cause damage to the system
and will void the warranty.

• SureCharge®
The microprocessor-controlled charging process used by FlexPower
guarantees the proper charging current for the battery and the fastest charge
time. The constant current charger provides a linear, predictable charge
time for any battery set from one at 40 ampere/hours to four at 40 ampere/
hours, depending on the model, without stress or damage to the battery.
• DataLink®
Smart power management communication interface. Program, monitor,
control and report key power supply functions by computer or over a local
or wide area network using a browser interface or LifeSafety Power’s
Remote Management Software.
DataLink computer connectivity requires an optional DL1 USB cable.
DataLink WAN/LAN connectivity requires an optional NL1 network
module.
• PowerCom®
The PowerCom power management software monitors, programs, and
reports on the power supply core functions through a computer or network
connection. See the PowerCom manual for complete details on
FlexPower’s power management capabilities.
• FlexConnect®
The FlexPower series provides a pre-wired interconnection system between
the power supplies and accessory boards of the power system that
eliminates inter-module wiring by the field installer. Field upgrading uses
common mounting footprints, predrilled mounting holes, snap-in standoffs,
and pluggable wires to add additional system capability or capacity when
needed.
• Reliability+®
All power supplies within the FlexPower system are fully fault protected.
• GreenSmart®
All members of the FlexPower family are RoHS compliant, lead-free, and
meet the latest federal and European requirements for energy efficiency.
