System Requirements
•Hardware: IBM PC or compatible PC, Notebook with USB
interface, Pentium 200MHz or higher, 120MB of available
hard disk space, CD-ROM drive
•Operating System: Windows98/SE, Windows ME,
Windows2000/XP, Vista.
Connecting to your PC and downloading
audio files
For Windows 98/SE:
Install the included driver before connection. For detailed
information about driver installation, see the “Driver Installation”
section in this manual.
Because the JX-MP222 / 224 MP3 player is a plug and play
device for WIN2000/XP/ME/Vista OS, it is not necessary to
install the driver. Simply connect the player to the PC and
download audio files following these steps:
1. Connect one end of the supplied USB cable to the player.
2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the computer.
Go to the “My Computer” option on your computer where you will
see a removable disk icon representing the player. Now you can
use the removable disk as a normal local disk drive, copying
audio files from or to the removable disk.

Driver Installation
If your computer is running Windows 98/SE, you must install the
driver provided on the CD before connecting the player to your
computer.
1. Insert the installation CD into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Execute the “USB Disk Win98 Driver Version xxx.exe”
file in the CD and follow the instructions in window to
complete the installation.
3. Restart the computer.
Note: Make sure the player is disconnected from the computer
when installing the driver.
Removing the player from the PC
1. Left click the icon on the right end of the taskbar.
2. Click the pop-up mini-window with message of “Stop the
USB Mass Storage Device or Safely Remove Hardware –
Drive (X)”.
3. When you are prompted to remove the device, pull out the
MP3 player.
Note:
•Make sure the data transfer is completed before
unplugging the MP3 player.

Charging the battery
This device has a built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery. It is
charged via USB connection. You are required to charge it when
you use it for the first time. It takes about 3 hours to fully charge
the battery. Connect the larger end of the USB cable to the USB
interface of PC, and connect the other smaller end of the USB
cable to the USB interface of this player. The device is
connected to PC and being charged.
NOTE:
For maximum performance, lithium-ion batteries need to be
used often. If you don’t use the device often, be sure to recharge
the battery at least once per month.
Do not over charge or discharge the player. Over charging
or discharging will shorten the battery life.
Using a Memory Card
This device has a memory card slot for reading data from a
microSD card.
1. Insert a microSD card to the card slot on the unit body.
2. Press and hold the [] button to turn on the power or
Press and hold the [] button to return to the main menu if
the unit is being played.
3. Select “settings” and press the [ ] button to enter the
setting submenu.
4. In the setting submenu, press the [] or [] button to select
the Storage option and press the [ ] button to enter the
Storage submenu. You see two option named “Internal” and
“SD/TF Card”. To play the audio or video files stored on the
internal memory, access the “internal” option.

Power On/Off
To power on,
•Press and hold the [ ] button to turn on the power.
To power off,
•Press and hold the [ ] button to turn off the power.
(Be sure to complete this step for saving battery charge.)
Adjusting the volume
•Press the [®] button to increase the volume.
•Press the [−] button to decrease the volume.
Resetting the player
If a malfunction of the player occurs, take a metal pin, (like the
end of a paper clip) and press it into the RESET hole to re-
initialize the system of your player.
Hold function
The hold function can help you lock all buttons to avoid
accidental player operation.
yTo lock all buttons of MP3 player, slide the [HOLD] switch
in the direction of the arrow. All buttons will be disabled.
yTo deactivate the lock function, slide back the [HOLD]
switch.

Settings
The unit settings can be customized by accessing the Settings
Menu. The Settings Menu consists of several items where
various functions can be selected concerning language, play
mode, recording, contrast, time off, storage, reset, etc.
NAVIGATING THE SETTINGS MENU
This section describes how to access
and change various features through
the MP3 player settings menu.
1. Press and hold the [ ] button
to open the main menu.
2. Select the Settings using the [] or [] button and press
the [ ] button to open the sub-menu.
3. To select a submenu, press the [] or [] button.
4. To enter a submenu, press the [ ] button.
5. To save an option, press the [] or [] button to select
the option and press the [ ] button.
6. To return to the main directory, press the [ ] button.
SETTING LANGUAGE
Select a desired menu language.

SETTING PLAY MODE
Select the repeat mode for the music, voice and movie playback.
•Normal: Play all saved files in order once.
•Repeat One: Play the current or selected file repeatedly.
•Repeat All: Play all the files in order repeatedly.
•Random & Repeat: Play all the files in random
repeatedly.
SETTING RECORDING QUALITY
Set the microphone recording quality.
Note: The higher the frequency, the higher the quality. However,
the recordable time will be shortening.
SETTING CONTRAST
Adjust the contrast of screen display.
SETTING THE TIME FUNCTIONS
yStop Off: Set the shutdown
time. The player will turn off if
the player is non-usage at the
set time.
ySleep Off: Set the sleep time.
The player will turn off after the set time.
yBacklight Off: Set the LCD off time. The backlight will
turn off if no button is pressed at the set time.

yInternal: To select the player as
the media source.
ySD/TF Card: To select the micro
SD card as the media source.
Note: Please ensure the microSD card is inserted into the card
slot when selecting the SD/TF card.
