Congratulations!
You have chosen KOBOTS’ cutting robot, Amigo®.
Your new cutting robot, hereinafter referred to as Amigo®, has been devel-
oped to format-cut panel material in plasterboard and fibre plasterboard -
easily, accurately and safely.
Amigo® can be operated via the app or by voice control through a headset.
Amigo® is easily controlled via the KOBOTS app.
Template structure in voice control:
The desired form is recorded via a template, based on communication be-
tween tradesmen. The user is guided easily through the steps of the template
using the in-built speech synthesis.
One of KOBOTS’ important core values is the minimisation of dust. We have
designed Amigo® with exactly this in mind, and we are continually developing
the platform to make it even better.
The vacuum cleaner is not included.

Dust collection
Amigo® cutting robot is designed for use with a vacuum cleaner with a manual start, i.e. by switching on the vacuum
cleaner’s start button, it can be switched on and off by connecting and disconnecting the power supply to the vacuum
cleaner.
This is controlled by connecting the vacuum cleaner to a power socket with an on-off switch, activating the start button
and switching the power socket on and off. By starting and stopping the vacuum cleaner it can be used with Amigo®.
Connect the vacuum cleaner to Amigo® and set the start button to start before starting to saw.
On start-up, Amigo® will briefly switch on the vacuum cleaner so that the user can hear it is working as it should.
If the vacuum cleaner does not switch on, Amigo® must not be used before the fault has been rectified.
The vacuum cleaner bag fills quickly
Amigo® collects so much dust that vacuum cleaner bags fill up quickly. Therefore, we recommend that you use a
vacuum cleaner with a cyclone or with a cheaper collection bag so that you do not incur excessive costs on machine-spe-
cific bags.
To ensure that the suction capacity is optimal, the industrial vacuum cleaner used should be Class H or better. Another
advantage is the banker function to minimise blockage of the system.
The machine will need to be cleaned periodically to achieve the optimal output as hoses and joints can get blocked up,
therefore you should check those too and clean them at least every time the bag is changed.
Rectifying reduced suction capacity or system blockages
Change the bag and switch on the vacuum cleaner manually and then take the hose and block the tube a couple of times
with the palm of your hand.
Reconnect the hose to the machine and dismantle the hose at the cutting head. This is a flexible hose that you can block
in the same way with the palm of your hand, and it may help to stretch and compress it to remove dust in the extreme
edges of the tube.
Take a pen or similar object and release any potential dust blockage in the connector piece on the cutting head and
utilise the loose, flexible hose to collect any dust that may have been loosened.
Maximum power consumption
Can be connected to a vacuum cleaner with a total power consumption of up to 1500W.
Note! The vacuum cleaner is not included.
Protective devices and cutting blades
Do not remove material cuttings or other parts of the workpiece from the area in which it has been cut while Amigo® is
running.
Wait until the cutting head is in rest mode before collecting the material cuttings.
Notify the vendor of the product of any faults with Amigo®, including faults in the protective devices or cutting blades
immediately on discovering the faults.
Check that the blade cover is completely closed and locked correctly. Do not use Amigo® without the protective devices
being properly engaged and ensure that it is functioning correctly and properly maintained.
Additional safeguards for Amigo®
– Only use the recommended electrical voltage: 220-240V
– Check that the lock screws have been tightened before starting.
– Check that all locking mechanisms on the connector are intact and are properly locked before Amigo® is started.
– Carry out regular checks to make sure the motor’s air inlet is free of dust and wood chips.
– Read the user guide thoroughly before using any Amigo® accessories. Incorrect use of Amigo® can result in perso-
nal injury and material damage.
– Keep body parts away from the cutting blade and the area in which the cutting is being carried out when the power
is connected.
– Do not cut panels measuring less than 400x400 mm.
– Never try to stop the cutting blade by pressing an object against it while it is rotating. This can result in serious
personal injury
– If cut out in the spoil fence is larger than 6mm it must be replaced by original KOBOTS part for precision and safety
reasons.
– Check that all locking levers have been tightened before you start using Amigo® – the locking lever must be tighte-
ned without the use of tools.

Safeguards for blades and changing the blades
– Choose a cutting blade that is suitable for the material that is to be cut. Amigo’s angle grinder runs at an engine
speed of 12000 revolutions a minute. Therefore, only use cutting blades that can maintain this speed.
– Only use cutting blades recommended by KOBOTS.
– Only use 125 mm cutting blades. See the technical specifications regarding the diameter of the cutting blade.
– Do not use grinding wheels and flap wheels or other inappropriate cutting blades. Only use the specified Eternit cut-
ting blade for plasterboard and Fermacell.
– The cutting blade must always be mounted in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions for correct mounting.
– Never use damaged cutting blades.
– Check that the cutting blade and the flanges are clean. Tighten the screw nut using your fingers only, i,e. without the
use of tools.
– Check that the cutting blade is always sharp on the basis of the material that is to be cut.
– Do not use Amigo® if the cutting cap is not in place. The front plate must be turned completely into place and the
finger screw screwed all the way down into its designated hole.
– Make sure you keep your hands away from the cutting blade.
– Disconnect the cutting blade from the electrical supply before replacing the cutting blade or carrying out maintenan-
ce work.
– Refrain from lifting the blade protector while Amigo® is connected to the power supply.
Residual risks
Even if the work is being carried out completely in accordance with the relevant standards and legislation, it cannot be
precluded that other risks may arise in connection with using Amigo®.
Amigo® and all other system components meet the applicable safety requirements. Nevertheless, certain residual risks
cannot be excluded, even if Amigo® is used as intended and all the instructions are followed.
Even outside the defined risk areas for Amigo®, residual risks cannot be excluded. Persons around Amigo® must be
extra vigilant so that they can react without delay in the event of a functional failure, accident or damage etc.
All persons in the immediate vicinity of Amigo® must be instructed on the risks that may arise when using Amigo®.
Furthermore, we draw your attention to the fact that the safeguards in this operating guide must be followed when using
Amigo®.
These risks can include:
– Damage to hearing.
– Risk of accidents involving the uncovered parts of the rotating cutting blades.
– Risk of damage while replacing the blades.
– Risk of getting your fingers jammed while opening the screening panel.
– Risk of getting your fingers jammed during set-up.
