AL238V & AL239VP Combination Cam Locks
User Instructions
Model AL-238 (V) Vertical and AL239-VP Vertical with Pull Handle
Both the Al238V and AL-239VP are 4-Wheel mechanical vertical Combination Cam Locks with 10.000 possible combinations.
They can be setup for Fixed Code (Private Use) or Auto-Reset Mode (One Time Use) they feature a Red/Green Open/Close
indicator, Master Override Key (sold separately) that enables the code reveal feature when codes are forgotten or unknown
codes. Includes; standard straight cam and screw fittings for steel door installations a circlip for steel locker installations and a kit
plate for timber door installations 16-35mm.
Note:
Both Lock Model AL-238V and AL-239VP can be fitted to left or right handed doors simply by changing direction of the locking
cam accordingly. Refer to installation instructions.

Private User Mode Instructions and Operation –Mode Switch or rear must be in the ‘F’ position
To Lock: Rotate Turn Knob clockwise to lock the cam then scramble the dials to lock the knob and conceal your code
To Unlock: Rotate the dials so all 4-digits of your code are vertically aligned in the centre of the lock then rotate the Turn Knob
counter-clockwise to unlock the cam.
Warning!
In the Private user or Fixed user mode your code will always be visible when the lock is in the unlocked position (Green Indicator)
For security reasons it is advised that you relock the lock after opening so that your code cannot be inadvertently or covertly
observed by others.

To discover the code if it is forgotten or unknown
Model AL-238V viewed from the rear
1. If the door is closed in the locked position (Red indicator) locate the Master Override Key and open the locker door
2. At the rear of the lock you will see a black lever. Insert your finger or other device to apply gentle pressure on the lever
holding it to the left.
3. Using your other hand and starting at the top 1st dial, slowly rotate the combination dial until you hear/feel a click then
go to the 2nd 3rd and 4th dials and repeat above to disclose the 4-digit combination.
To Change the Fixed User Code to a new Combination
A. Open to door to access the rear of the lock
B. Insert a small screw driver into the Mode change switch (see above) and rotate anti-clockwise to the ‘R’ position
C. Write down your new combination!
D. Rotate the 4 dials aligning all 4-digits of your code with the center of the lock
E. Insert a small screw driver into the Mode change switch (see above) and rotate clockwise back to the ‘F’ position
F. To lock, make sure your new code is correctly displayed on all 4 dials and rotate the turn knob and scramble dials

User Instructions for AL238V and AL239VP Used in Resettable Mode
Resettable One-Time-User Mode Operation –Mode Switch on rear must be in the ‘R’ position
Turn the knob so that the Green indicator above the knob is visible. If Red indicator is visible and the knob is locked, the locker is
in use with another person!
Write down your new Code or enter it into your smartphone
With the knob in the unlocked position (Green indicator) rotate the dials to your preferred 4-digit code making sure all digits of
your code are aligned with the centre of the lock
To Lock: Rotate the Turn Knob counter-clockwise to lock the cam (Red indicator) then scramble the dials to lock the knob and
conceal your code
To Unlock: Rotate the dials so all 4-digits of your code are vertically aligned in the centre of the lock then rotate the Turn Knob
clockwise to the unlocked position (Green indicator)
If you are a temporary user of the lock you may leave the lock after opening it without changing the dials or scramble the dials to
conceal your code from the next user
