50W Tripod Mounted Food Safe LED Light

Explosion Proof - C2D1 - 100' Cord - EXP Plug

Instruction Manual

This explosion proof light tower is designed for illumination of industrial locations. It uses the

latest in solid state lighting technology for long life, low maintenance and high efficiency.

The unique design focuses the light where it is needed, giving improved efficiency over a

conventional HID luminaire.

An internal, universal input, power-factor-corrected switch-mode supply allows it to be used from any

nominal 100-277V AC 50/60 Hz power supply without any variation in light output.

WARNING

To avoid the risk of fire, explosion or electric shock, this product should be installed, inspected

and maintained by a qualified electrician only, in accordance with all applicable electrical codes.

To avoid electric shock:

•Be certain electrical power is OFF before and during installation and maintenance.

•Luminaire must be connected to a wiring system with an equipment-grounding conductor.

To avoid explosion:

•Make sure the supply voltage is within the luminaires’ voltage rating.

•Ensure the marked T rating is less than the ignition temperature of the Hazardous

Atmosphere.

•Do not operate in ambient temperatures above those indicated on the luminaire nameplate.

•Do not operate if the lens is cracked or damaged. All fasteners should be properly seated.

For supply connections, use wire rated for at least 110°C

TRIPOD ASSEMBLY

The tripod assembly consists of 3 parts:

1. Light head

2. Pole w/Legs

3. Wheel base

To assemble tripod, begin by placing the legs over the wheel base. Tighten bolt to secure the wheels.

The tripod can now be rolled around on its wheels. Ensure the legs are folded up before tilting tripod

to maneuver.

WARNING: Use caution before tilting tripod with a heavy load. For heavy loads, it is recommended to

remove the light head prior to transporting via wheel base! Failure to do so may cause serious injury

or death. Larson Electronics shall not be held liable for injuries caused by misuse.

1. Place tower in desired location that is flat and able to support the tripod without falling over.

2. Loosen hand screw and lower legs until firmly stabilizing tripod.

3. Tighten hand screw to secure legs.

4. With help, place the light head over top pole and tighten hand screw.

Light weight lamps can be attached by tilting tripod toward the ground with the legs up. Attach light

head to pole, tighten hand screw and tilt back to its vertical position. DO NOT tilt tripod while

extended to max height. It is recommended to have another person hold the tripod while tilting

vertically.

For heavy weight lamps, use a ladder and extra help for attaching light head to pole.

Double check that all hand screws are tight before continuing use of the light tower.

EXTENDING

1. Loosen hand screw for extending the light head. Once loose, extend light head until desired

height is achieved with at least 1ft - 2ft remaining inside pole for support.

WARNING: DO NOT over extend light head completely allowing extension pole to free from base! If

the light head becomes free, serious injury or death can occur. Larson Electronics shall not be held

liable for injuries caused by misuse.

2. When desired height is achieved, tighten hand screw to secure light head.

LOWERING

1. To lower mast, grasp light head and slowly loosen hand screw. Lower the light head and

tighten hand screw.

WARNING: DO NOT loosen hand screw allowing light head to fall freely. This can damage the unit

and cause serious injury or death. Always grasp light head before lowering. Larson Electronics shall

not be held liable for injuries caused by misuse.

The tripod mount light tower can be disassembled for storage or transporting. Unplug light from power

source and remove light head following previous steps for attaching.

Once the light head has been removed, loosen hand screw for legs and fold them up. Wheel to

desired location or remove from wheel base for complete disassembly.

THE LENS AND CORD MUST BE ROUTINELY CHECKED FOR CUTS, BREAKS, SCRATCHES OR

ANY SEVERE ABRASIONS, AND IF ANY ARE FOUND, THE PARTS MUST BE REPLACED

BEFORE RESUMING USE OF THE LIGHT TOWER.

The EPLC2-QP-1X70LED-100 is designed to provide years of reliable lighting performance. Should

the need for replacement parts arise, please contact Larson Electronics at the contact information

WIRING (see attached wiring diagram)

This unit comes preconfigured with selected cord cap, and beam spread. Once deployed, plug cord

cap into compatible receptacle with Voltage: 100-277 Volts AC, 50/60Hz

MAINTENANCE

Caution: To avoid personal injury, disconnect power to the light and allow the unit to cool

down before performing maintenance.

Warning: No user serviceable parts inside of fixture. Risk of electric shock. Removal of the lens

will void the warranty.

1. Perform visual, mechanical and electrical inspections on a regular basis. We recommend

routine checks to be made on a yearly basis. Frequency of use and environment should

determine this. It is recommended to follow an Electrical Preventive Maintenance Program

as described in NFPA 70B: Recommended practice for Electrical Equipment.

2. The lens should be cleaned periodically as needed to ensure continued photometric

performance. Clean the lens with a damp, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth. If not sufficient, use

mild soap or a liquid cleaner.

3. Inspect the cooking fins on the luminaire to ensure that they are free of any obstructions

or contamination (i.e. excessive dust build-up). Clean with a non-abrasive cloth if

needed.

4. Do not operate if the lens is cracked or damaged. All fasteners should be properly seated.
