1 §IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
• Before mounting the entry unit, please read the instructions carefully.
• Exlusively use supplied screws for mounting the entry unit.
• This mounting instruction is part of VdS certification and has to be followed up precisely.
• At the time of delivery, the lock is set to the standard Manager Code of 1 2 3 4 5 6. Change this code
immediately to your own choice of Manager Code. Do not use personal or other simple data which
can easily be found out for your Manager Code.
• Please keep the code always carefully and protect it against improper use by unauthorized persons.
2 §CHARACTERISTICS
Echo white
Metal housing mat chrome, white front with hard plastic keyboard and integrated battery
compartment.
Echo black

Echo white with Dallas reader

The Echo can be mounted both fixed and turnable. The angled housing with ribbed edges provides
excellent grip, when turning the keyboard. The integrated battery compartment in the bottom of the

This assembly instruction is equal for input units with and without Dallas readers.

housing opens with a slider. The connection cable to the lock is approximately 30 cm. The entry unit is
delivered with two springs and two pins. Use the metal pin for fixed mounting. The plasic pin has to be
used for turnable mounting
3MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR FIXED MOUNTING
The diameter of the door opening for the connection cable should be minimum 9 mm , maximum 12
mm. The door opening must be de-burred well to avoid damage to the cable.
Prepare mounting holes and door opening.
The door opening and the mounting holes must be arranged
in such a way that the central opening of the base plate is
centered in front of the door opening after assembly. Be
sure to note the location of the lock on the inside of the
door.
Hold the base plate against the mounting surface so that the
‘T’ is at the top.
Fasten the plate hand-tight with the two supplied moun-
ting screws. We recommend thread-locking fluid
(eg Loctite) for securing the screws.
First insert the spring and then the metal pin into the
corresponding hole of the housing of the input unit.
Insert the battery compartment cover into the housing.

Pass the connecting cable through the central opening of
the base plate and the door opening. Hold the housing at
10:00 o’clock and slide the cams into the recesses of the
base plate.
12:00
Rotate the housing clockwise until it locks into
12:00 o’clock position.
Attention: The Echo entry unit can no longer be removed!
4 MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR TURNABLE MOUNTING
The diameter of the door opening for the connection cable should be minimum 9 mm , maximum 12
mm. The door opening must be de-burred well to avoid damage to the cable.
Shorten the grooved spindle to the required length. This results from the door thickness
(Measured from the mounting surface of the base plate to the mounting surface of the lock)
plus 31 mm (1 7/32 “). Make sure the spindle is free of burrs.
Prepare mounting holes and door opening.
The door opening and the mounting holes must be arranged
in such a way that the central opening of the base plate is
centered in front of the door opening after assembly. Be
sure to note the location of the lock on the inside of the
door.

Hold the base plate against the mounting surface so that the
‘T’ (upside down) is to be read at the bottom.
Fasten the plate hand-tight with the two supplied moun-
ting screws. We recommend thread-locking fluid
(eg Loctite) for securing the screws. Please grease those
parts where friction is expected lightly.
First insert the spring and then the plastic pin into the
corresponding hole of the input unit housing.
Insert the spindle into the square hole in the center of the
housing’s inner side. Insert the connecting cable carefully
and completely into the spindle groove.
Insert the battery compartment cover into the housing.

Pass the connecting cable and spindle through the central
opening of the base plate and the door opening. Hold the
housing at 10:00 o’clock and slide the cams into the
recesses of the base plate.
12:00 Turn the housing clockwise until it lock into the
12:00 position.
Just before reaching the 12:00 position, you will
feel some resistance. This resistance must be overcome in
order to bring the housing into the ‘closed’ position.
The lock can be opened by turning the input unit
housing clockwise, and closing it counterclockwise.
Attention: The Echo entry unit can no longer be removed!
Connect the battery to the battery clip, carefully store the battery in the battery compartment on the
bottom of the housing and then close it with the slide. Only use fresh 9V ALKALINE Duracell / Duracell
Industrial or Energizer batteries.
