electrical panel. We will not be held responsible for damage as a result of a wrong connection
which may cause injury or death.
1. Introduction
Congratulations on the purchase of your new smart wireless electricity monitor, Model MTP-3100. This
product was designed to help you monitor and better manage electricity consumption. This guide is aimed
at helping you in the set-up of the wireless monitoring system. Careful use of this device will provide years
of reliable service.
Please note this manual will refer to the below devices in the following manner:
Receiver
= Monitor (M)
Sender
= Transmit (T)
2. Safety and Maintenance Information
Before installation, please pay attention to the following information:
Please read all instructions before you use the monitoring system.
Please shake the display unit and the power transmitter first, before installation. Do not use if you hear
any loose parts and communicate with your authorized distributor for replacement.
Do not allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions use the system.
Keep the monitor, transmitter and sensor clamp away from sources of heat, water or any other liquid.
Place the monitor, transmitter and sensor clamp where children can not touch or pull.
Do not try to disassemble or modify any parts of the monitoring system. In case of problem, please
consult your representative.
Do not use the monitoring system if you find that your electric wire is in an abnormal condition, such as
loose wire, exposed copper wire, burnt mark on wire insulation layer, holes on wire layer or damage on
electric meter. In case of such abnormalities, please consult a professional electrician immediately.
Periodically check all wires and components to ensure there is no damage.
Use a dry cloth to clean. Do not use solvent, abrasive cleaners or water.
FCC Declaration of conformity: Tested to comply with FCC standards. This device complies with part 15 of the
FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful
interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, inlcuding interference that may cause

Remove plastic tab on Transmitter
(Found on back of transmitter)
Power the Monitor with batteries OR
using the power adaptor
IMPORTANT
During the Linking process, STEPS #3 and #4 must be
performed seconds apart.
Begin by activating the signal search on the monitor,
followed soon after by activating the signal search on
the transmitter. The signal search on the monitor has a
duration of 1 minute.
IMPORTANT
During the Linking process, STEPS #3 and #4 :
Keep the Monitor and Transmitter as close as
possible.
Press and hold down the linking
button on the MONITOR for approx.
3 seconds, until the LED light starts blinking
then release the button.
Press and hold down the linking button
on the front of the TRANSMITTER for
15 seconds, then release. A red LED will flash
rapidly on the transmitter during the linking
period.
SUCCESSFUL linking is demonstrated by an
antenna in the top left corner of the screen.
FAILED Linking will not display an antenna on the left
corner of the screen.

7. Display Information
Soon after successfully pairing the monitor and transmitter, the LCD screen will automatically return to the
default display.
The LCD screen will depend on user’s tariff choice, TOU (Time of Use) tariff or NMP (Normal Meter Pricing),
the default tariff mode is TOU. See pages 10-12 on how to setup tariff mode.
TOU (Time of Use): This tariff setting allows you to set tariff rates according to two seasons, Summer and
Winter rates. For each season you can set four (4) tariff rates applicable to every day in the weekday,
Monday to Friday and a fifth tariff rate for the weekend, Saturday and Sunday. TOU is based on the Ontario
tariff rate system.
NMP (Normal Meter Pricing): Program from 1 to 3 tariffs per day, for every day of the week.

Default Display Under Normal Working Conditions
The image below is the Default Display, it appears automatically once the pairing is successful. LCD screen also
returns automatically to this display if there is no button operation for a period of time.

HOW TO CLEAR DATA
8. History Data Clearance and Factory Reset
History Data Clearance
To reset only the History data, please follow the instructions below. Note that this does not perform a factory
reset.
1. Press and release the HISTORY button to enter in the HISTORY mode.
2. In the HISTORY mode, keep pressed the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds (until
red light flashes).
3. The history data (including histogram) are now cleared while all other settings such as date, time, tariff
selection are kept the same.
Note: At step 2, the data clearance can be performed under any history data interface (daily/weekly/monthly:
kWh, $, kg CO2)

Factory Reset
1. When the default screen is displayed, simultaneously press and hold down the MODE/SET and HISTORY
keys. The full LCD screen will appear after 10 seconds.
2. When the red LED starts blinking, release MODE/SET and HISTORY keys and the ʺSoftware Versionʺwill
appear.
3. Memory Reset done = Factory setting Date: 01/01/2011 and Time: 00:00.
* The user should do the pairing again.
